Chikuyo Tei is a hidden gem for Asian food with great sushi and calamari. The prices are reasonable, and the service is friendly. The calamari is a star dish with tempura batter and exceptional seasoning. The sushi is always fresh and tasty. The portions are large, with dishes like Pad Thai and Basil Shrimp having plenty of shrimp and vegetables. However, some dishes like the steak hibachi can be a bit chewy.
The menu offers a variety of vegetarian options, and the miso and hot/sour soup are highly recommended, being strongly spiced and not watery. The entrees are decent portions, and there's a great lunch special.
