I'm not from Nashville. I visited my niece at Fisk and she recommended Helen's. That was almost a month ago. I'm still thinking about how good that chicken was! I had hot lemon pepper wings and regular lemon pepper wings. 10 out of 10!
1. I chose to give 2 stars because the service was not good. We walked up to place an order and the cashier was talking to her friend/ someone. Instead of welcoming us like other restaurants, we received a stare. So I felt like I was intruding on a conversation. I did stand in line waiting for my turn to place my order. It was pretty weird to walk into a place looking for hot chicken and catfish to find out it's also a club, but the food was fire, and if nothing else it made the night more interesting. The catfish fantastic, hot chicken sando was delicious, the fried okra was top tier. Definitely will be back for more.
