“This was an accidental find on recommendation of a gas station attendant. A little ways into town so you need to search for it but worth it! Eclectic decorating and coffee cups but everyone was a delight. Staff and locals. Food was top notch. We will happily make a point of stopping here again.”
“It’s under new ownership now. The merchandise is well stocked, nothing out of date like it use to be. Plenty of chocolate ice cream on hand for milkshakes as well.”
“We really enjoyed the atmosphere, and the counter serve people were cordial and friendly. The Margherita pizza was not very authentic, although they did try. It definitely had too much of a robust sauce, and the diced beef steak tomatoes were not doing the pizza. Any favors . As for the rest of the food it seemed to be well received. The one thing that we did find surprising was that no one really spoke to you after you received your order. I get that it’s a counter serve restaurant, but it is a mom and pop restaurant and hospitality should be added. I do recommend business and I definitely think it’s worth stopping and trying.”
“What an amazing gem of a restaurant! This is a culinary experience for those that consider themselves foodies. Don’t hesitate to wait and make a reservation now.”
“My husband and I travel quite a bit and love burgers. So when we moved to the area we wanted to try Hanks burgers. Hands down they have the best burgers any where! If you’re looking for a burger with grease and blood pouring out of it this is not for you go to five guys, but if you want a burger grilled to perfection Hank’s is the place. The staff even make it better.”
“Great place for a simple breakfast. Delicious pancakes. Vegetarian options. Small dining room. Great atmosphere. I don't know how they did it but they somehow dodged inflation as prices are amazing.Kid-friendliness: Plenty for the kids”
“My wife and I visited here on a weekday evening. She made reservations- I would highly recommend making reservations. We were seated upstairs- very cramped. Our waitress only came by once after delivering our initial drinks- that was when she brought the ticket.”
“Ugh the food was delicious and what we were looking for. It hit the spot. The chicken tender basket was delicious and the fries were good and well seasoned. Good local southern comfort ”
“Knocked one star off for the disgracefully small sausage patties. The waffles were delicious as always and the service was excellent! We went when they were incredibly busy and waited a long time. But it was worth it!”
“In town for a wedding today. We have never been here before but the staff was super helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our visit and will be back given the chance.”
“The best country cooking around town!! The salads are amazing and they give you a very good sized portion!! Prices are reasonable, good food, good customer service!! The owner is a peach!! She’s literally the best there is!”
“Not only is this a great place in Sewanee to eat but Mr. Jimmy help to set us up with a campus tour at the last minute for our daughter. We would definitely recommend this as a stop while in town.”
“This restaurant is absolutely amazing! I did not have high expectations as from my experience, small town Mexican restaurants are usually mediocre, but this one was incredibly tasty and the prices were inexpensive!! Will return if ever in the area again!!”
“This is my favorite place to stop on i24 it has lots of truck parking the food is always great and the staff are polite. Hey don't miss out on their crab Rangoon or the teriyaki ”
“I really enjoyed this place. The coffee was great and the atmosphere was just so inviting. I enjoyed my cookie inside and finished my coffee outside on the porch swing. Very peaceful.”
“As far as rest stop food goes, Hardee's is one of the best places. We were on an East Coast drive so we ended up having food at 7+ rest stops along the way. Absolutely love Hardee'”
“We stopped here on top of Monteagle mountain as the severe storms that pounded Nashville with tornadoes were going through and it was only 30 minutes before they were closing. They were incredibly welcoming and shared concerns as well. We were never rushed, food was fresh and excellent. They were extremely gracious and went above and beyond as I guess we were all worried about family and driving in the severe conditions. Was blown away once we went inside at how nice and modern the facility is. This is a hidden gem and we will now make an effort on all our trips to Atlanta, Chattanooga, Guntersville Lake to stop on the mountain and enjoy the food and hospitality in the future.Kid-friendliness: Great environment family, students, adults or friends. Entertainment and sections for eachWheelchair accessibility: Very accommodating and open environment. Tables and booths not stacked on top of each other. Bathrooms extremely open, CLEAN, modern and accessible.”
“I can't believe Google is even accepting reviews for Tiger Bay and McClurg. As if there is a choice to be had here or that the feedback will somehow make it's way to Aramark haha. 10/10 for the best microwaved grangers and egg/cheese wraps”
“After having a lot of fried food in Nashville, our group was looking for a little bit of a lighter fresher meal during our stay in Tracy City. We found Greens View Grill on google and thought the food looked fresh! As soon as we arrived, we met Brent, who happened to be working the bar that day. He was full of incredible stories and recommendations, and his knack for customer service was as natural as it was amazing! We would definitely come back to the grill, even if just to chat more with Brent!”
“This is our second time to Monteagle; having time for a sitdown dinner this time we were looking for something better than fast food. We ended up with lasagna and skillet lasagna; I had the greek salad and my husband had the caesar salad as our sides. As a former owner of a food establishment, it's rare to find a place that makes food that I feel matches my own or even tops what I can make. We both found our meals to be excellent. The price was very fair for the quantity of food we received and we found the server to be very attentive. It was a clean place and I could only eat about half of my meal. It's hard to keep left-overs when traveling but I"m certainly going to try and keep mine cold so I can have some more tomorrow. Great job!”
“This place is absolutely incredible. The teas?…. Don’t even get me started. Phenomenal. Imagine if you will, a wandering nomad, lost in the desert and stumbles upon an oasis with crystal clear water to quench his thirst. Well that same wandering nomad would stumble aimlessly 50 more miles through the desert past that oasis just to reach the succulent flavors of a Black Pearl tea at Sewanee Nutrition. 10/10.”
“First impressions weren't too good. Restaurant looks a little run down. The salsa and chips are very good! Good Mexican beer selection. Received our food in a timely manner. Portions are on the larger side. Price is pretty fair. Overall food was very good. Restrooms are in rough shape. They didn't have soap.”
“Well, 9 of our Thirsty Thursday crew met up on Friday night at the Shakerag Restaurant in the Sewanee Inn. First off the decor there is worth the trip even if you don't eat there, but we did! Usually it's hard to get seating for 9 folks but we were accommodated as soon as we arrived. The host, servers and manager waisted no time getting everything ready and we were seated.Waiting on one couple we ordered drinks and they were out in a flash. Great selection and very well made! We visited and had a great time and got our orders in when the couple arrived. The menu selection was great and everyone seemed to get something different. Appetizers of Pork Belly, Brussel Sprouts and Sweet Potato Fries were ordered and were excellent. All of the entrees were fantastic and everyone loved their orders. Our server was awesome and the manager came, checked on us and we all gave him a "big" thumbs up!!This is a definite "do again" place whether it's the group, couple or single!!”
“Stopped here the other day while traveling for work. Needed to fill up on gas and use the restroom. I love the fact that Pilot really does a great job of keeping their restrooms clean compared to many other stations out there on the road. And also love the convenience of everything else they have to offer from a snack, gear, supply standpoint”
“The food was hot and didn't take long at all! Customer service was also super friendly and Brittanie was amazing and super helpful taking my order! I definitely recommend if your up in the area to stop by and see the crew here at Monteagle Taco Bell! ?”
“Top Rated Pilot!! Especially the Staff. The Men and Ladies who take care of the Showers and Grounds are Outstanding and deserve to be recognized for their work and professional care.I can't say enough about how hard they work and a job that sometimes isn't acknowledged.Parking: Plenty For Truck's and Car's.”
“We went on a really busy Saturday they were swamped with a tennis camp, but they handled it well. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. It's nice they have inside and outside areas to eat. Definitely recommend stopping in for a great sandwich!Kid-friendliness: They had free popcorn and outside area to eat and hang out, kids loved that.”
“Called and got a catering box and cookies for my sons school, they were very accommodating and called me back to confirm details. Will definitely do business here again!”
“Stopped in on the way back home for gas and a quick bite. Wow! Best Wendys I’ve had in a long time. Food was hot and delicious. The spicy chicken was spicy! Great job.”
“Went for breakfast and the food was amazing! The best country fried steak I ever had and the portions were huge. It is a must stop if you are in Tennessee. The staff and owner are wonderful people who embody home cooking. We will be back again!”
