I have to admit, when a very young server named Helen introduced herself, I initially underestimated her. I couldn't have been more wrong. She was outstanding, friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. She did a terrific job. The food was excellent, and the steaks were cooked perfectly. The menu prices were in line with what I would expect for a quality steakhouse. The wine list also seemed a little expensive, so we opted for cocktails instead. “I had the opportunity to enjoy Herand’s Kitchen in the Heights. Beautiful cozy restaurant. Amazing owner who was very helpful concerning the menu. I had Mediterranean Baba ghanoush, Zereshk Rice Greek salad, and garlic falafel, and every bite was absolutely phenomenal. The flavors were vibrant, fresh, and beautifully balanced from start to finish.

The baba ghanoush was rich, creamy, and perfectly prepared, with a wonderful smoky depth that complemented the fresh ingredients. The Greek salad was crisp, refreshing, and loaded with flavor, showcasing the quality of each ingredient. The garlic falafel was outstanding—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned to perfection with just the right blend of herbs and spices.

What impressed me most was the attention to flavor and seasoning. Nothing was overpowering, yet every dish was full of authentic Mediterranean character. It is evident that great care goes into the preparation of these foods, creating a dining experience that is both satisfying and memorable.

“My sister recommended this place (you can find her review here too) and it was amazing. Definitely on the pricier side but you get the value of what you’re paying for. The grilled octopus was amazing, along with the mini kebabs. Everything else was also so great. My favorite thing would probably be the desserts. The basque cheesecake is amazing but if you get the chance to get anything pistachio based, DO SO. They know what they are doing. Hope you enjoy!“

“Droubi's is the oldest Mediterranean place in houston from the 70's. I've been a customer since middle school & I am 42 today. It's Delicious, Authentic, & ALWAYS Affordable! Over 50 years and the same gentleman that owns Droubi's still runs it with his wife. Hats off & respect to both of them.“
