It was a good night and great Ambience and music. Would recommend here for a date night or just a solo meal and drink. I ordered the lamb chops that well cooked well and they had a good flavor. Loaded potatoes were good but my preference is less cheese. If you're a cheese lover it's perfect.“

“Happened to be staying at the Marriott Marquis and decided to eat here since it was adjacent to the hotel. It was a great decision. It is always a plus when patio seating is available. The drinks were amazing and the food was on point. Xochi is an authentic Mexican gem! The vibe, food, and drinks are amazing. The ambiance is vibrant, the dishes are bursting with flavor, and the handcrafted cocktails are a must-try. “I was looking for a new breakfast place and I found this 9 mins away. I had the inspired Italian with the morning meditation juice and I was surprised how good they were. I usually stay away from any type of ethnic inspired dishes specially for breakfast because they tend to flip and I feel like I wasted money but the Inspired Italian was quite an interesting take. A blend of savory, salty, sweet and sour. It's weird to say it on an omelette but this one was quite refreshing. The morning meditation juice was also very nice. Not overly sweet but also an eye candy. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend“

“First time coming here, I thought food was 4 stars, steak a bit overcooked. I’ve never been to a restaurant where server took us into the kitchen to look at how prime rib was cooked and we chose the rib eye. The dressings paired well with the prime rib (horse radish). The skewers of quail was tender and the sauce was sweet and paired w the meat. Crab cake tasted it was made in house. Our server Michael was attentive and knows the menu items well, explained all the menu items clearly and food arrived well timed. Hubby accidentally dropped a fork and it was picked up right away by the staff. We didn’t know they don’t allow outside food so asked them to store our cake and they labeled it and put it in the cooler. We enjoyed our time. Will come back to support this local business.“

“Lunch crowd comes in by around 1140am and the restaurant gets full by 12pm. One of the best beef rib I’ve ever had but it is quite expensive with my one rib order costing almost $50. Brisket is also very juicy compared to other BBQs in the city and a good amount of sauces and drinks to choose from. Well worth a trip down to if you’re in Houston.“

“The steak and potato rolls were excellent. The meat was tender, juicy and a good amount of flavor. In fact I did not need to use the peppercorn sauce. However the Brussell Sprouts were just okay and haven't been seasoned enough. As well the G&G House Salad needed ample amounts of pepper to have an established flavor. The Chocolate cake had excellent icing and filing but the cake itself was dry. The Chocolate Martini was good and the cappachino was just okay. With this price range I expect that the accompaniments to the main course be superb as well.“

After that we didn't see him much, and we had run out of butter for the scrumptious bread. We waited and waited. He finally noticed that we needed some service. Now folks, we arrived at 3:50, so it wasn't like we were sharing him with multiple tables. Finally, he came, brought the butter and then we waited for our food, and waited.... The broccolini was cold and flavorless. The waiter hand-served it, a nice touch. But it was cold. The manager came by but we didn't want to make a scene. It's popular because of the good tasting food. They should do something about speeding up the line. But I guess Management has not thought about that. Has your business growth and it has more in more people coming. You should make plans to make the kitchen area larger with the buffet section larger. So you can have 2 extra servers. I'm assuming they made it investment in the parking lot next door which is huge and full of cars. Trust me this place is making money. Not complaining about the price, but this is not a dollar tacos. Those days are over. This location, and one Laredo on Patton Street street are making money. It would help if it also had a larger restroom to accommodate more than one person. It's a business not a home. I hope management reads this. And will maybe answer the review“

“Me and my boyfriend came here since it was rated so high. We were a bit worried walking in, the buffet table seemed a bit empty, and there wasnt anyone here. Yet the lady who attended us was very hospitable and explained to us that they offered a buffet or we could order from the menu. We ordered from the menu and got a buffet for one person. Now the buffet didnt seem appetizing but once i tried it, it was so delicous! The only thing is there was barley any food in the buffet and it looked like it had been sitting there for awhile. The lamb curry we ordered was so delicious, and favorable we really couldnt finish everything we were so full. I would probably come here again.“

Our server (I wish I could remember his name, he was a sweetie!) was amazing, extremely attentive, and very kind. Rene (I believe is his name) the manager, was extremely thoughtful. He brought champagne as soon as we sat down and he also brought my mom a card at the end of the dinner. It was so thoughtful and amazing! The service was excellent, our cups were always full and our table was very clean at all times. The chickpea crepe, sourdough, and escargot were amazing! “So I pass by here all the time. And I saw it on TikTok the other day. So I had to try it. I had such a good experience at Oishi's happy hour I figured I'd try it here too. 4:30-6:30 in the lounge/bar area only. There are tables in case someone in your group is under 21 like us. You can sit at a table if so. Waiter was really pleasant. They were playing hip hop which didn't seem very Japanese to me but hey were there for the food. On Friday it wasn't crowded at all. I just went to a work happy hour which was on Wednesday which I guess is the new Thursday post Covid. So maybe Fridays just aren't happening any more like when I was in college. But all the better for us then. The pork bao has a crisp bun like a cracker rather than soft. I could really taste the truffle flavor in the fries. I actually asked for ketchup and the waiter looked at me like I had uttered blasphemy. They don't even carry it he said. Embarrassment set in. Ok I admit that wasn't very Elite of me. And that's why you're still red Elite dude. C'mon. Not like all them blacks and golds. But it was the kid who wanted it! The kid made me stumble!! No no no. Own it. Upper loop. Be Elite. That's how Elites roll. Ok so Initially I only ordered 5 dishes. But I saw the full menu said the Korean lamb cutlets and also the Roka grilled scallops were both signature dishes. So of course I had to order them. The happy hour menu only gives you 1 scallop for $10. Same with the lamb cutlet/chop - just one. Oh the lamb comes out pretty rare. So if you don't like that maybe pass. I loved it. So anyway I think it's probably almost the same price as the full menu since they cut the portions down on the happy hour dishes. Maybe a couple bucks knocked off. So do take a look at the full menu to compare. I actually didn't think the happy hour price points were super special like Oishi. I think they used to be around the $5 mark from looking at past reviews. But post Covid everything's like doubled in price. I mean that's everywhere you go unfortunately. Not just here. Staff was super nice. The prime beef skewer was really tender. Calamari was nicely done. Hamachi Serrano roll was the only core Japanese thing we had I think. Core as in a familiar staple at Japanese restaurant. And it was ok. Nothing super special. I'm glad we went. And I'm glad I don't live in the apartment complex upstairs as I'd have a hard time not going more often. But I'd also be broke if I did me thinks.“

I got the 4 set rolls and it came with the BGB sake, negitoro, spicy tuna, and avocado. My favorites from the set was BGB sake, super tasty, and the spicy tuna which had crunchy crips in it. The best spicy tuna hand roll I ever had. I also tried their notorious BGB which had a side that taste like fish sauce to me and hotate which is scallop crudo with refreshing citrus. Both are delicious and are a must try! Their bluefin Akami sashimi was fresh too. I didn’t like negitoro sashimi as much but that is just a preference. All of their drinks are solid too.“
