“I usually just stop in for their breakfast but this weekend decided to try their lunch. Sure glad we did. It was great! Everything had good flavor, it was served hot and ready to eat and the portion size was good for the price. Definitely will be one of my to go places.“

“If you are looking for delicious Mexican food, this is it! There are a variety of menu options. I had some delicious fish tacos, rice and beans. It reminded me of the traditional fish tacos I'd had in Mexico. Chips and salsa are self-serve. The food is authentic. We really enjoyed it!“

“Food was delicious. Carne-Guisada amply portioned. Pancakes full, light, and fluffy!! IMO, rice, to my taste was a little dry, but seasoned well beans. Chips and Salsa was mild for my tast. Small dining area, so plan accordingly during busy times. Give it a go!!“

“1st time there, loved it so sad they aren’t open on Sunday as we would have gone back again. Sadly leaving Monday. What a great building and nice patio out front. A little too chilly to eat outside. We ordered the 2 tacos to share comes with sides of corn or beans or rice. We got all three and each of us picked our own taco. We also shared the sopapillas for dessert. What a delight for it all!!! I left stuffed. The flavors were amazing, hats off to the chef.“

“We have been in El Chico a few times. The last 2 times going in, we had a waitress named Jacque. She just turned 17 but she has a work ethic of any grown up I know. She has great customer service and takes care of her customers. She is always smiling and brings laughter to your table. If you are wanting good Mexican food and great service, go see Jacque at El Chico in the Mall. Once again, thanks Jacque for being such a great worker. Shawn Kirkland.“

“Fajitas were the best I’ve tasted… chicken and beef combo. I’ve never had a serving for 1 as a serving for 2 of fajitas at any other restaurant as here ! My mom had the tamale plate and it too was delicious, as I tasted hers too. Thank you Mexico Viejo! I will recommend.“

“Shout out to Taco Casa Abilene on Buffalo Gap Road. We went and ate lunch and everything was great. I’m picky and like a bean burrito with not a ton of beans and the kitchen showed me the burrito before rolling it to see if that was how I wanted it. Then a man that worked there I guess noticed I didn’t finish my food and brought me a sack to take it home with me so it was easier to carry since I had a baby with me, he did this without me saying a word about needing one just thinking he’d make things easier on me to carry. So thoughtful. The place was super clean and the environment was great unlike anything I’ve seen elsewhere. They take pride in what they’re putting out and you don’t see that much nowadays especially in fast food.“

“Was driving by when I stopped on a whim. Man at counter wouldn’t respond when I asked questions in English or in Spanish. I ordered the Pupusa plate and a small fountain drink and was charged $16. There were no prices anywhere and I didn’t think to google their menu. Afterwards I discovered I was overcharged. The pupusas had texture of wet sand, couldn’t pick them up. Beans had weird spoiled taste. Rice was very bland. Very disappointed. Will not return.“

“Absolutely Amazing Experience Tuscola Restaurant! Wish I had taken pictures of our food—it looked and tasted incredible! We sent our roofing crew to eat here first, and they enjoyed it so much that we decided to go ourselves shortly after. From the moment we walked in, the service was excellent. Both the waiter and waitress were extremely helpful and attentive. Our waitress, especially, was such a joy—wish I could remember her name! The food was absolutely delicious. Even the chips and salsa were outstanding! We also noticed how well the staff managed their tables—everything was handled quickly, and drink refills came without us even having to ask. That kind of service really stands out. Goat Ridge Roofing wants to give a big thank-you to the staff for taking such great care of us today. We will definitely be back, and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and even better service!“
