“I was told about this place several weeks ago and finally got the chance to visit. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The salsa and chips were a very good start. The food was very tasty and there was plenty of food in each serving. It is definitely a restaurant that I will enjoy visiting again soon. One is coming to Brownwood, and hopefully it will be as good as the one in Abilene.“

“Delicious food and quick. Build your own burritos and tacos. Street tacos. Food was fantastic. As a first-timer I didn’t know that when I ordered tacos I had to specify everything I wanted on it, so they came out meat only with pico. But they were still fantastic.“

“This post is about a month past due. We're new to Abilene, so we've driven by this place never stopped. My son wants me to join him for a late lunch(1-2p). We decided to stop last min, 15min before closing, they close at 2p. The lady that happened to be outside invited us in, sat us at a table and brought out fresh chips and salsa. We ordered our food, it was nice and hot and fresh. The staff were all polite. Most places would have been rude and rushing us out the door since they were closing. Not here. The staff can out with their food say at a table and enjoyed their food must like we were. Very grateful for the awesome attitude they had well late customers. Give them a chance.“

“My husband wanted to take me out to celebrate my birthday with family and friends. We were a large group of 25 people. Our first choice was Casa Herrera. We called an hour before going and were informed they don’t take reservations, which we knew, but we wanted to give them a heads up. We arrived and were told in a not friendly tone that they couldn’t provide service for 25 people because they didn’t have the room and didn’t want to overwhelm the server. The overall feeling was not welcoming at all. They should have told us over the phone when we called that they could not accommodate us. So my husband called El Chico and they welcomed us with open arms. By the time we got over there, our table was ready and we were greeted with smiles all around. Our server, Severina, was AMAZING! She kept our drinks filled, food came out quickly for such a large party and she always had a smile on her face! Caesar(hopefully I spelled that right), was so accommodating and even gave us FREE QUESO! He was so apologetic for how the other restaurant treated us but was so happy we chose his restaurant. We usually go out as a large group at least every other month if not more often. We were told by Severina that we are all welcome back anytime! We are already planning our next get together! So thankful that all the staff at El Chico saved my birthday dinner! Thank you again from the bottom of my heart! Lisa Chaney“

“Shout out to Taco Casa Abilene on Buffalo Gap Road. We went and ate lunch and everything was great. I’m picky and like a bean burrito with not a ton of beans and the kitchen showed me the burrito before rolling it to see if that was how I wanted it. Then a man that worked there I guess noticed I didn’t finish my food and brought me a sack to take it home with me so it was easier to carry since I had a baby with me, he did this without me saying a word about needing one just thinking he’d make things easier on me to carry. So thoughtful. The place was super clean and the environment was great unlike anything I’ve seen elsewhere. They take pride in what they’re putting out and you don’t see that much nowadays especially in fast food.“

I judge a Mexican food place by their salsa and will often pick where I want to eat based on how much I like their salsa, since I add it to my tacos and mix it with queso when eating chips.“

“We had one of the best dining experiences in recent memory at El Feniz Abilene on Saturday, 9/14/24. Brit is one of THE BEST servers we have ever had...she brings so much joy, life, knowledge of the restaurant and food as well such a kind and caring demeanor to her work. The service was excellent and the food was so delicious. The restaurant is authentic and very clean and you have that nostalgic feel of the Abilene of days gone by. We highly recommend El Fenix Abilene and will be returning many times!“

“My youngest son and I go there regularly. I try different Tacos every time and have liked every one I have tried. I always get some queso and normally the Taco of the Month and have not been disappointed!“
