“I was told about this place several weeks ago and finally got the chance to visit. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The salsa and chips were a very good start. The food was very tasty and there was plenty of food in each serving. It is definitely a restaurant that I will enjoy visiting again soon. One is coming to Brownwood, and hopefully it will be as good as the one in Abilene.“

“Delicious food and quick. Build your own burritos and tacos. Street tacos. Food was fantastic. As a first-timer I didn’t know that when I ordered tacos I had to specify everything I wanted on it, so they came out meat only with pico. But they were still fantastic.“

“If you are looking for delicious Mexican food, this is it! There are a variety of menu options. I had some delicious fish tacos, rice and beans. It reminded me of the traditional fish tacos I'd had in Mexico. Chips and salsa are self-serve. The food is authentic. We really enjoyed it!“

“Food was delicious. Carne-Guisada amply portioned. Pancakes full, light, and fluffy!! IMO, rice, to my taste was a little dry, but seasoned well beans. Chips and Salsa was mild for my tast. Small dining area, so plan accordingly during busy times. Give it a go!!“

“I have been there many times and every time it was a very pleasant experience. Service is fast and friendly, meal is cooked and served quickly, food is fresh and delicious. “My husband wanted to take me out to celebrate my birthday with family and friends. We were a large group of 25 people. Our first choice was Casa Herrera. We called an hour before going and were informed they don’t take reservations, which we knew, but we wanted to give them a heads up. We arrived and were told in a not friendly tone that they couldn’t provide service for 25 people because they didn’t have the room and didn’t want to overwhelm the server. The overall feeling was not welcoming at all. They should have told us over the phone when we called that they could not accommodate us. So my husband called El Chico and they welcomed us with open arms. By the time we got over there, our table was ready and we were greeted with smiles all around. Our server, Severina, was AMAZING! She kept our drinks filled, food came out quickly for such a large party and she always had a smile on her face! Caesar(hopefully I spelled that right), was so accommodating and even gave us FREE QUESO! He was so apologetic for how the other restaurant treated us but was so happy we chose his restaurant. We usually go out as a large group at least every other month if not more often. We were told by Severina that we are all welcome back anytime! We are already planning our next get together! So thankful that all the staff at El Chico saved my birthday dinner! Thank you again from the bottom of my heart! Lisa Chaney“

“Shout out to Taco Casa Abilene on Buffalo Gap Road. We went and ate lunch and everything was great. I’m picky and like a bean burrito with not a ton of beans and the kitchen showed me the burrito before rolling it to see if that was how I wanted it. Then a man that worked there I guess noticed I didn’t finish my food and brought me a sack to take it home with me so it was easier to carry since I had a baby with me, he did this without me saying a word about needing one just thinking he’d make things easier on me to carry. So thoughtful. The place was super clean and the environment was great unlike anything I’ve seen elsewhere. They take pride in what they’re putting out and you don’t see that much nowadays especially in fast food.“

“The first time here was good, and I will return. I got the steak fajitas taco, and the wife got the Democrat and the Republican. My steak was very tasty but too tough to be in a taco. I tasted her Democrat and the corn tortillas was awesome and so was the meat until I hit the cilantro.“
