“Stopped in today with my hubby. It was wonderful! Great ambience with cool wooden floors that the owner installed himself. Who, by the way, is a super nice gentleman. We had a blueberry scone and hot fresh croissant from the oven and they both were excellent! Baked with European butter as described by the owner/baker! We washed them down with a hot mocha and cappuccino that were chef’s kiss perfect! If you haven’t been, just go. You’ll be glad you did!“

“My cousin and I visited the Cafe this morning for breakfast. Our waiter - Phillip - was amazing! However, the food this time was a little disappointing. My cousin ate her grits and I had the Frech Toast. We also had bacon and potatoes. The bacon was not cooked the way we wanted. A new order was made, but still not satisfactory. And it was very salty. So we did not eat the bacon. Normally the food is outstanding but today's visit was a little off.“

I had a drip coffee which has free refills which is amazing! Ohhh and the monkey bread was delicious!

Like I would avoid the ones with eggs because despite what the sign says, it's always almost exclusively eggs. Just about every other one is top tier. “I always thought this place was just for brunch but turns out they’re open for dinner too. We went with the family in the evening and had pasta, and everything was delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and we even stayed for dessert. The kids loved it, and so did we. It was pretty quiet during dinner, which made me think maybe people assume it’s only a brunch spot and don’t come in the evening. Honestly, it’s a hidden gem for dinner and perfect for a relaxed meal with family. Definitely one of those great local spots you’ll want to go back to.“

“I have been a long time customer of Cafe Max when they were located in Addison back in the 90’s.

Recently, I visited their Plano location in hope A) they remained open and B) they had pasta and chicken mixture available. I arrived at 2:44PM a few minutes before closing at 3PM. When I entered, I wasn’t greeted immediately but instead given a stare-down of “ugh”. I dismissed the person with their sassy dismay as the gentleman with a kind notation, carrying the chicken mixture expressed “hi, how can I help you?” I stated, I’m sorry to place an order as you’re beginning to close shop. The gent said it’s okay. Yet when he looked at the other worker, their face expressed much less of not wanting to be there. It was an awkward moment for me and the gentleman. After I placed my order (duo plate); pasta, chicken mixture and a turkey sandwich to-go, the situation became uncomfortable. Once the gentleman closed the duo plate and handed the turkey sandwich to the other worker, who handed me the bag, I said with a smile, thank you! Their body language and no smile expressed a light muffled some-what of “yah” left me feeling sad for the individual. If they dislike their job, find another one. Or at least disguise your face expressions to Cafe Max customers. I believe when you receive poor customer service, your meal or service rendered will be much less than a happy experience. That was mine, my meal was bland because of the poor customer service experience.

No matter what I’ll continue my visits with Cafe Max but at the Richardson location where they greet you loudly and with a warm energetic smile, “Hi, how can we help you,” “have a nice day!” Everyone has a bad day or another, sometimes a contagious smile can redeem themselves and make others feel better! I give thanks to the gentleman that served me!“

“This new cafe was amazing with so many options. I had the Olivia latte with lavender cold foam and was the best coffee I’ve ever had. The Olivia sandwich is to die for with the pistachio pesto! Steak sandwich is amazing with carmalized onions. The inside is so cute and very clean. The staff is always attentive and very friendly! Overall a 10/10!! Would reccomend to all ages. “First timer and I will be back!!! Coffee is absolutely delicious. We purchased some chocolate chips cookies (they were warm and so good!), the gelato is so fresh!! We tried hazelnut, chocolate and strawberry. I can’t decide which was my favorite but they were all absolutely delicious! My husband had a blueberry muffin, super soft and as he said “yummy tasting!” What a gem we found. The people are super friendly. We will be back! It’s quite spacious inside as well.“

“The food was excellent ! The service is the best ! The same host and waitress have been there a while . They make you feel comfortable and relaxed . I had the Shrimp and Crab Louis salad ! It's a little pricey at $42.09 but it's pretty seasoned and very fresh . It truly has the New Orleans vinaigrette that lightly coated the lettuce and seafood . Of course their chicken broth is delicious and my other favorite is the popover with strawberry butter that comes with every meal ! And please taste your food before you season even if you think it looks plain .... It's why you pay these prices for perfectly turned out food ! And try going for their afternoon tea !“

“This is only our 2nd experience having food from Country Cafe! The first time was dine in and excellent on all accounts. Today (12/7/2025) not so much with getting food to go. Actually, not even a little bit. Placed our order for fried shrimp, catfish, onion rings & fries. Also, for carne asada (with rice, beans of course). Food was tied up when it was handed to me and I fully expected my order to be correct as it was simple and small... But I was very wrong!

First, our food was cold and we live very close to the restaurant. Upon inspection we had no condiments to go with the seafood platter so no tarter sauce, cocktail sauce, ketchup, etc. and the worst part is our french fries were missing completely! As I said, this was a small uncomplicated order! We will never order food to go again as it was a total waste of money.

If you choose to get to go orders I strongly suggest you untie the bag and inspect everything before you leave!“
