“This little joint has been an East Dallas treasure for some time. When you think of mom's home made breakfast. Best describes Gold Rush, from the fluffiest pancakes which IMHO is their clame to fame. I might order a tradional fried egg and bacon breakfast, but bet your bottom dollar it's coming with a short stack of pancakes. As you imagine the tastiest ham slice. remember that they do lunch. fall apart pot roast, hamburgers will not disappoint, chicken fried steak, why not have an omelet for brunch, they'll do it just right. It's not a big place in any way. You get there and you see an empty table go ahead and seat yourself. if there's a short line. you might have to stand between 5 and 8 minutes but everyone in line is cordial. when guests leave their table, grab it, even if it hasn't been cleared off very shortly someone will come by a cleaned your table. while you wait hopefully a member of staff already given you a menu. Be ready when someone takes your order. and the place can be hopping. Give it a shot, I'm sure you will find your visit enjoyable and the food done right.“

I recommend the biscuit board with ricotta and jam, my fav.
Today I had the nourished bowl with 2 sunny side eggs. The veggies and mushrooms were the star of the show. I added the chipotle sauce and it gave it just the right kick. I did not try the breakfast burrito pictured here, but I will say it’s big enough for two people. The chocolate chip cookie was delicious, it gave pan dulce vs cookie.
Coffee and juices are always good and
service is great. Highly recommend for a healthy and delicious breakfast or brunch.“

The hostess had on a big sweater, so this must be a common occurrence. Food was good, if a bit pricey, but fries came out less than hot. The service seemed to lag and dessert wasn't offered.“

I asked the sweet lady who greeted me when I came in if I could still get breakfast and she told me yes. I ordered 2 eggs over eazy, 2 strips of bacon, 1 bisquit w/gravy and hasbrowns for take out. “This place is such an underrated coffee place, but I think this is exactly what they're aiming for. Excellent baristas, expert recommendations, classic drinks, or high quality matchas. You could be in a different coffee mood every day and they can find a perfect combo for you. I really don't drink anything other than black coffee, but I'll drink anything they recommend or make for me. I will happily make the trek from Plano all the way to Oak Cliff for them. Highly recommend. Don't forget they also have to-go packs of coffee. Wish I could recommend just one, but I go in and buy ALL of them. Don't sleep on Peaberry.“

“I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Market Center and had dinner either in person or to-go from TerraNova Cafe every night.

Food takes about 20 minutes. 25 minutes for my burger Day 1.

Night #1: I ate in person in the lobby bar. Ordered a Kicker Burger, which came with fries, and some mixed vegetables. Order-to-Entree took 26 minutes. The value is not bad for a hotel restaurant; certainly a good amount of food and the fries came out nicely crispy. The burger was decent (4/5). The mixed vegetables are a little too oily for me (3.5/5). Service was very friendly and attentive for a lobby bar.

Nights 2-3: I ordered the Mixed Green Full Salad with Salmon. Was ready to-go within 20 minutes (I just went up to my room and came back). Took a bite to try it out and the salmon was a little rubbery but not bad (3.5/5). Portions were good.

Night 4: I ordered the Walleye Fish and Chips and it was surprisingly good! Everything came out very crispy and the sauces were plentiful. The Cole slaw was a nice accompaniment. It was a tad oily but overall pretty solid and good portions (4/5).

For Hilton Diamond members, food cost and tax are covered by F&B credits but NOT tip. So anything you tip on the tab will still hit your folio.

Overall, solid choice for a hotel restaurant and a great way to use the F&B credits for dinner if you don't eat breakfast.“

“Lovely small local family owned place. They helped close-neighborhood people who were hit by the tornado with food when electricity was out! American style breakfast, lunch, dinner food is great. Kid friendly. Yhey have a Glass chocolates counter, several Gifts and chocolates shelves and a Bulk candy corner area. Tables for 4 inside and out. Can be full during peak hours, but so great! I love to frequent local family-owned places!“

All of the flavors were well balanced. They also offer breakfast and lunch items. I went back the next day and ordered an iced Azteca mocha and an egg and cheese croissant. I added olives, red peppers and mushrooms. It tasted like it was made in my own kitchen and I could taste the love! They also offered salsa to go with it. The salsa verde was amazing! 😋 If you’re looking for something quick and delicious but more than a cheap drive thru experience, this is the place!“

We ordered two loaves of bread for my daughter’s birthday and simply asked for them to be cut. Instead, they took the time to get creative — warming the bread, adding the spread inside, cutting the rest into pieces and arranging everything beautifully around it.

They didn’t have to do any of that… but they did.

It’s those little extra things that show when people actually care about what they do and about the people they’re doing it for.
