“We absolutely love this place, coming from AZ mexican food this is the best around here and they don't use pork juice in everything for "flavor". There food tastes amazing without having to add to it. Food/serive is quick almost faster then going to fast food place.Dietary restrictions: As we don't eat pork, everything we order we've been told no pork products are used in it.Parking: This is a busy place and only once in awhile it's hard to find parking but that just goes to say how amazing there food is. ?Kid-friendliness: Plenty of Child seatsWheelchair accessibility: Double doors“
“1st if all, I am very critical of Mexican and Tex Mex food.Along the 281, there are a lot of places to eat called Jalisco or El this or that.I will go off the Expressway to eat here. This place is a gem in Alice.Do yourself a favor and come get these amazing homemade tortillas, the chorizo beans with chips and salsa and of course great Mexican food!I had a Fiesta omelet and papa Ala Mexicana and the potatoes were delicious. A lot of places mess up the la Mexicana surprisingly.Not El Charro. Thanks for delicious lunch on our way home.“
“The quantity of the food is poor....I'm from corpus and the restaurants quantity of food isn't like that.So it was a shock to "me" when I got my Enchilada plate....My family lives in Alice so they are used to it...I'm not..But that's just me Expressing my thoughts....“
“The best Tex-Mex in South Texas. I used to eat here in the late 1960’s with my dad after the cattle auction and would get the burger. Today I had the AJ special and it didn’t disappoint. It is the best Tex-Mex hands down. And the flour tortillas are the best. If you’re ever in the area stop by. You won’t be disappointed.“
“The mini barbacoa tacos are delicious! They taste great with lime squeezed over them with the cilantro & caramelized onions. This is my favorite order thus far, accompanied by a strawberry margarita. The staff is kind & make sure your order is correct.“
“Delicious food at good prices, and they have good fountain drinks. Waitress did a great job, but we were there until closing time and the busser was hovering with a cart of dirty dishes and trash waiting to snatch up our plates before we even finished. I felt like she could have just backed off until we got up.“
“Beef and chicken Enchiladas were a must try. Beef taco n Carne guisada was great as well. The refried beans were perfect. Comes with a small pack of crackers. No tortillas on the side. The price wasnt to expensive either in my opinion. Will be going back“
“Man the referrals weren't joking when they said authentic Mexican food! This is a must try if you ever in Alice! I failed to get my waitresses name, but the service was awesome! The food was quickly served! The tea was delish! I loved this visit! I felt like I was sitting at my grandmothers dining room table! Love the atmosphere, love the food! Thank you Chente's Restaurant for bringing that piece of joy back even if it was just for a moment. I will definitely be returning!“
“The food was delicious. Everything was homemade tasted just like mine and I didn't even have to cook.The place was very clean, the waitresses were very very attentive and friendly. They made sure you never ran out of coffee and that you had everything you needed.I certainly plan on coming back for sure.“
