“I've driven by this place for nearly 3 yrs. and finally decided to take my grandson. It was our first time, and it was great. Homemade Root beer was fantastic, the burger my grandson order was just like they used to make them. I ordered the corn dog pretty good. The place was clean the music was great, the gentleman behind the counter was respectful, clean shaved, neatly dressed. The line of friendly people never stopped. “Hey Sugar has a balanced mixture of older and newer types of candies, it's truly a candy haven. The employees were helpful and kind throughout my time at the store. I tried their icecream which is made in house and selected the espresso martini and toffee. They were delicious and refreshing on a hot spring day. They weren't too sweet which I appreciated. I picked up some truffles, dark sea salt caramel and dark chocolate raspberry, the truffles were yummy but pricey. I selected a couple types of gummy bears, sour apple, watermelon and blue raspberry. All three flavors were yummy and I munched on them throughout the week. They have a covered gazebo and open patio as well as an open area in the front to sit. They have stationery rides for kiddos to ride on in the front. I love checking out downtown roanoake and look forward to returning.“

“So many options to choose from! Sunday afternoon decided to try a local ice cream parlor and was not disappointed at all! The long line confirmed that this had to be a crowd favorite. I agree! I tried butterfinger in a waffle cone and the vanilla base was so good. The line was long but didn't take long at all as the staff moved quickly and efficiently. The decor gives an old school ice cream shop atmosphere which makes it fun. There's even a small seated area outdoors. All in all, I will be back to try another option!“

“Beth Marie's is our favoite ice cream shop! Full disclosure, I can't eat dairy ?but they always have several delicious sorbets to choose from. So while my other half indulges in a brownie sundae or a double dip of something chocolate; I can still enjoy a yummy treat. Their mango sorbet tastes like springtime in a cup, and the cherry sorbet takes me back to every beloved childhood candy from Starbursts to Lifesavers to gummy cherries. Friendly staff too!“

“Pretty standard for a Braum's. A decent burger, could have been a little warmer. Unfortunately I think I got the bottom of the basket when it came to french fries. About 90% of mine were less than an inch long. Still tasted good........ Just a lot more difficult to eat. LOL ?But, overall, a fairly average experience.“

I was so surprised when we turned a corner and it was a real ice cream truck selling real custard ice cream. I just got a rainbow sprinkle dip for my toddler. I really messed up not getting some for myself because the rich velvety eggy custard cream was the real deal and even the sugar sprinkles were the real deal and tasted like frosting. If I ever see this truck again I'm *running* ? it was such a nostalgic magical experience for both me and my toddler.“

“I am always happy when a restaurant puts the right people in the right job! Went through the drive thru today with a lunch order for the family so a variety of things. The man working the drive thru was super efficient asking all the follow up questions for each item (sauce, meal, drink, etc). He was also very friendly when we got to the window, read the order back and made sure to note that they labeled the special order item so it did not get confused with the regular order. I commented before we left the window that we would for sure be back soon!“

Not only do you get 1/2 price drinks ALL DAY LONG you can also set up specific times you will be there to get your grub. Wait times become non existent AND you are saving money, what's not to like! I have to throw out a like for the Chicken Slinger. Bigger than a slider and smaller than a sandwich, it is the perfect size for a snack. Wash it down with a slush and you are good to go.“
