Food was mid but the ranch dip was amazing. Service was good. Overall it was ok, just ok!
SUCH a gem of a location!!! The staff here is wonderful, everyone is super nice and attentive. If you’re in Lexi’s section you’re golden because she’s amazing. One of the managers, Fernando, totally makes the experience. He has an incredible warmth and kindness and makes you feel like a regular immediately. Chuy's is a popular restaurant for Texas food. The food is delicious, very good, authentic, and off the charts. Portions are generous, large, and a great value. Anything on the menu will be good. Specific items mentioned include the queso for starters, a taco and enchilada order for the main meal, a frozen margarita, and the Blackberry lemonade with Tito's. The decoration is nice.
Service experiences vary greatly. Some guests report unforgettable, wonderful, quick, and great service from staff described as kind, friendly, patient, and having wonderful energy. They receive prompt seating and a great overall experience.
However, other guests report the worst service, with significant missteps. Problems include servers being nowhere in sight, forgotten items like queso and tortillas, having to ask multiple times or fetch items like napkins and the bill themselves, and no drink refills. This made the service feel minimal and led to a frustrating experience where guests felt they had to do everything themselves.
Despite inconsistent service, the food quality and portion size lead many to say they will definitely go again in the future.
