Coffee was decent, but the experience was lacking human connection. Seems to be a common theme if I scroll through other reviews. Apparently, it’s called tech’s misanthropy lol. At least, they don’t charge extra for plant milk. So should we call this plantropy then?
Their seasonals are so good! I had the Coco Capp and it was amazing. I had the pleasure of talking to Samantha and her experience in the industry shows. Definitely will be back for Samantha and the nice vibes here!
Some of the best coffee in town. This is my go-to coffee shop in Austin. The staff is friendly, attentive, and they make great food, too. They remember regulars.
The bad reviews on here are almost exclusively related to the new ordering system, where you have to order from an iPad, even when you walk up to the counter and the barista is standing there. Civil Goat is a neighborhood coffee shop praised for its great staff, good music, and a dog park. acai bowls are often described as the best in town. iced oat milk latte, which is fantastic. The croissant is halved and toasted to perfection. The new digital barista and ipad ordering system reduce human contact, leaving some missing the personal touch. At the Manor Rd location, customers reported plastic pieces inside an acai bowl and difficulty reaching staff. Noise echoes off walls and concrete floors, and the shop feels like a friend’s house.
