“Chile's on Hwy 78 was nice. Food was really good and cooked to order. The chips and salsa were fresh and crisp. Our waitress was very attentive and quick to refill our glasses of tea. Poor lady, I think she got tired of us saying thank you so much but she never let on otherwise. It wasn't too busy so it was kind of quiet (which I appreciated) but I almost asked them to turn the music down, but I didn't want to be that cranky old lady. LOL.“
“Ordered the super nachos (steak, queso, onions and bell peppers) and it was super amazing! I was surprised lol. It came with a side of guac, sour cream and Jalepenos for like $10, and the portion was large. These are definitely the best nachos I've had in San Antonio. The only drawback is that the stack, onions and bell peppers are sliced into long strips, not diced, so it can be a little hectic eating it.“
“Arrive early to get a table, it fills up quick. Coffee refill on point. I ordered the carne guisada taco, crispy chicharron with egg and a chorizo and bean taco. Amazing flavor and portions. The corn tortillas are handmade and taste amazing! Watch out for their salsa ranchera, super hot!“
“Food is always good and value priced. The atmosphere is none existent, but the place is clean. Service is good. I go there because the food is always great, the servings are large, and the price is very reasonable. I've never been disappointed.“
“First time eating here and wow!!!!They brought us a complimentary enchilada a long with our chips and salsa! This place really prides itself on their homemade sauces and they are incredible.I got the fajita platter and it was HUGE.My partner got the salad and it was the largest salad I have ever seen, delicious dressing as well.MIL had enchiladas and wow, so so very good!!!Lots of options for vegetarians and vegans!Meal for 3 came out to $52.Vegetarian options: They have a lot of veggie and vegan options. The fried tofu is great!“
“There were 12 people in our group. Our waiter was so awesome! He kept our glasses filled, met all of our needs, and served our food hot. We ate out on the patio and the wind was blowing so hard that things were flying everywhere. Our waiter was so kind and patient even with one of our grouchy people. I want to go back and eat inside where i can hear what everyone is saying. The food was delicious!! I had chicken fajitas“
“My wife had some very concerning news about her brother, who had ongoing liver problems and is in the hospital. Very sad, but Mexican food is comfort food for her, so I brought her here. As always, food was really good. Lots of families in the place. Service was especially great. Autumn and Calib did a phenomenal job. They seemed to read the sadness on my wife’s face and seemed especially helpful. That is pretty rare. Very grateful to both servers. Please tell Autumn and Calib thank you from us.“
“Nice, home grown spot. The food is good and the staff friendly. My only criticism is that it's kind of small and there isn't a lot of room to move between tables.Vegetarian options: Veggie fajitas we delicious. I added chicken to mine, but the Veg was great.“
“This is a nice go-to place for a few drinks at the bar or to enjoy good food. I sat at the bar, and the bartender was incredible. She was very attentive and made me feel very welcome. The drinks, the food, and the bartender were perfect!I'll definitely be going back again.“
“Not only does this place have the best Barbacoa and hot sauce. Today they had cake they had a pink cake with white frosting and they had a German chocolate cake. I Purchased the German chocolate cake OMG!!!!IT IS DELICIOUS?❤️!!!!Thank y’all for all your hard work & outstanding customer service. The cake is a success???#veryhappycustomer?“
“First time here and will definitely be coming back ? ordered the barbacoa all meat and it was delicious!!! The meat is very flavorful and the customer service was great ? friendly guy running it. Thank you for this yummy tasty delicious food ? ? A+++“
“This food made me happy. I grew up in SA and haven't lived here for almost 30 years. I still come back as often as I can for visits with friends and family. I was happy to see Teja Molino 2 opened near my folks home, so I ordered. The puffy taco was perfect especially once I put the spicy salsa verde on it. The cheese enchiladas were a childhood favorite so I went with old reliable. Both were delicious.“
“When it comes to the food, El Valle offers a variety of Mexican dishes, including tacos, enchiladas, burritos, fajitas, and more. The portions are generous, and the presentation of the food is visually appealing. The flavors are bold and authentic, with just the right amount of spice. The service at El Valle is excellent. The staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They are quick to take orders, and the food is served promptly. Additionally, the prices are reasonable, making it a great value for the quality of the food and service.Overall, I highly recommend El Valle for anyone looking for delicious Mexican cuisine in San Antonio. The restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious food at a Reasonable price.“
“I LOVE it here!! The food the service, the atmosphere, the sweet tea, the chips and salsa the cheese they used for the enchiladas, the tacos, the specials are always great and everything here is incredible but what I really like is the owner she usually runs the cash register her and her daughter, they have the most beautiful spirit. The staff here are so kind and attentive. They are what keeps me coming back besides the quality of the food because the food is just amazing. There is an upcharge if you don’t finish your food and you need a box to go so dont let your eyes be bigger than your belly“
“The Wait staff were friendly, fast, and nurturing. The atmosphere is so authentic, the music loud enough to enjoy yet low enough to have a conversation with your partner. The Mexican food here at San Juan's is the best I've tasted in San Antonio so far. It is a hidden gem. Yes, it's not perfect and "high end" but it reminds me of home; even if my home was in Korea, it reminded me of my mother's cooking somehow. Perfecto.“
“My table server was the owner herself! Such an honor to meet her. She is like a leader and server, not just a boss.A small, very cozy, clean, and hospitable restaurant. This is one of several I'm visiting nearest home to try out their Huevos Rancheros, for my ultimate favorite choice one day. The place was filled with people for breakfast in spite of road construction. One thing I noticed about these Mexican restaurants -- they are generous enough to allow outside Mexican sweets private sellers to head in and sell their specialties. Such amazing friendly personally from these places. This place was one of them. They did my over-medium eggs perfectly. Love it. I also love how my potatoes were diced smaller. I always taste the refried beans before I mix up everything. Theirs was tasty.Wait staff was hospitable and helpful. They went around offering free coffee refills all the time.I like this place. It's one of my candidates for my Huevos Rancheros spots.“
“The food is authentic Tex Mex as we know it and very good. Service is always exceptional with warm and engaging waitstaff. There is a very wide selection of menu items and we're on a quest to try them all!Parking: The only issue with parking is that the lot has little to no striping to delineate parking spaces. Most are repeat customers and know where to park and line up.“
“We did takeout for dinner here a few days ago and ordered two bowls. I had the bowl with steak, black beans, Spanish rice, guacamole, pico de gallo, lettuce and tomatoes. Hubby had the bowl with the pork, cilantro rice, black beans, guacamole, pico de gallo, potatoes, and tomatoes. We received sides of creamy jalapeño, sour cream and Ranch dressing. Both of the bowls were excellent tasting. Great food, great customer service, and great prices. We will definitely return again and would highly recommend that you visit this place.Vegetarian options: There are ample vegetarian selections available here.Parking: Ample free parking is available here.Wheelchair accessibility: This place is wheelchair accessible.“
“I've been coming here since I was a little girl and it's never disappointed me. Love this place and have recommended and brought others here. :) food is great and staff is friendly..the place is small and clean! Prices have remained really reasonable compared to others.“
“Wow, HEB got breakfast tacos? Yes they do, and they’re really good. See pictures. True Texas Tacos is in the little HEB gas station out in front of the parking lot. It’s *not* in the True Texas BBQ drive thru connected to the main grocery store. I hope HEB does this at other locations in the future. “
“This place has the best beef puffy tacos and beef fajita tacos in SA. The tortillas come out perfectly crisp every time! Their carne guisada could use some work, but nearly everything else on the menu is top notch. Tacos can be a little pricy but are worth it. Service is always wonderful! We are regulars who have been going for quite some time and have never had a bad experience.Parking: Saturdays are by far their busiest days and it can be tough to find a spot during rushes. Luckily there’s a motel next door with ample parking.“
“We had not been to this location in years. Tonight we had a pleasant experience especially with the manager Gabby and Steven greeted us with such positive attitudes. When we left they were engaging us on our experience and so friendly. We told them how much we appreciated their great customer service. Keep up the good work and good food!!Liz“
“Despite its location which could mislead people, it is close to a motel and a gas station, it is a restaurant of absolute quality. I took the "el Rodeo deluxe" and it was all really good as well as really filling. If I had another day available I would have liked to try their parillada. The dessert, however, did not stand up to the comparison with the dish, it was rather anonymous as it was packaged. In any case, I would strongly advise you to stop by if you are staying in the area.“
“Los Generales is a very good authentic Tex Mex Restaurant! Large portions very reasonably priced. I did find the Restaurant to be too warm to comfortably sit, but otherwise it was good. There are various specials that occur at different times, so be aware of that. Staff was nice.“
“We recently visited this El Chappelle location, having been loyal fans of the Helotes spot for years. It's inevitable to draw comparisons, but overall, the experience was solid. The food delivered the familiar flavors we know and love. Everything on the Valerie Special - [1 cheese enchilada with chilli con carne, fajitas, rice and refried beans] tasted exactly like the Helotes version. My molé enchiladas and sides were equally consistent, with the exception of the molé sauce. While it differed from the Helotes recipe, I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't quite as spicy, but still delicious. While the food hit the spot, the atmosphere fell short. The seating arrangement and decor lacked the same vibe as the Helotes location. Personally, I didn't like it. Despite that, I wouldn't hesitate to return if had a hankering desire for molé in the area.“
“OMG the food here is so good! I know they were having some problems a few months ago (maybe more than a year ago by now? ??), but as the sign out front says - they're under new management now, and the difference is definitely noticable! I've been here probably a dozen or so times in the last 6 months, and every time my food has been made correctly the way I ordered it, delivered to me in a timely manner, and hot, fresh, & delicious! Whether I went through the drive thru or ate in the dining room and whether I went during the dinner rush or showed up 15 minutes before closing (sorry for that btw! Not my call ?). And the employees are always very friendly and nice and attentive.Definitely recommend giving this place a shot if you're in the area, especially if you've been in the past and weren't exactly thrilled with your experience. I guarantee you'll have a different opinion of this place if you do. With all the Mexican restaurant options in this city (I want to say there's at least a dozen on this street alone) it's easy for Mexican restaurants to just kind of "exist" while not really standing out. This place definitely deserves to stand out. And it's really saying something when I pass up several other Mexican food options on my way here every time.Keep up the great work and keep putting out the great food with a great attitude! You are appreciated. ❤️“
“I had the #1 ( 2 enchiladas /2 puffy tacos with guacamole. The guacamole was thin, not thick . I’ll pass on guacamole next time, but the food was delicious , Enchiladas chips/salsa was good, beans also great flavor. Tortilla homemade.. my puffy taco didn’t hold up, need to eat with a fork.“
“It has the full spectrum of Tex-Mex to full Mexican Breakfast but even their pancakes are huge and delicious. Moderately prices but serving sizes are great and you won't go hungry. Decent food in an oasis of mediocre. Staff is super friendly.“
“What a pleasant surprise! Stopped going to Chili's many years ago because of bad experiences and food. We decided to give them a shot, and everyone loved their food! The Bacon Avocado Grilled Chicken sandwich was very good! Don't forget napkins! ?“
“I went through the drive thru for some breakfast tacos and they were pretty good. Hot, fresh, good sized, and the salsa was good too. The absolute best part was the sweet lady at the window with the beautiful nails and pink lipstick. Wish I would've gotten her name. You can immediately tell she's a good genuine person, like I'd drive thru when I was having a bad day just to to get a pep talk from her lol. Best customer service I've had in years anywhere hands down.“
“Just picked up a burrito for lunch. I opened up the foil to be presently surprised by how well my burrito was wrapped. You guys do a better job than Chipotle ever could. I'll be sure to tip the nice lady a little more next time I'm in there. 5/5 stars for you guys, you did not disappoint.“
“We needed a late night place to eat so we decided to try it. If you've been to a Rosie's Cafe or Taco Cabana, this place is very similar. I do think the food here is better. I recommend the queso, and the chicken fajita quesadilla. Their nachos looked really good too, but I didn't try them.“
“The place is spacious and has an outside bar area. The food was above average. The fish was well cooked and flaky had good amount of garlic but would have preferred more. The veggie enchiladas were cooked well and not soggy the vegetables choosen worked very well and like the queso fresco on top. I would have asked for more to be put on top of the enchiladas. The atmosphere is lovely and open. It a place I go for lunch again. Looks great for dinner“
“Food was excellent. Chips and salsa were served warm and perfectly seasoned. Puffy tacos were amazing and not greasy. Got to enjoy entire taco without meat falling out the bottom. Enchiladas and chalupas were excellent. Definitely a place I would recommend to anyone. Mother loved the chicken fajitas. Beans and rice were excellent also.“
