Charlie's Creole Kitchen Reviews
Charlie's Creole Kitchen was the place to be for a casual meeting tonight. The fried green tomatoes and boudin balls were top-notch, and the crab claws and bacon-wrapped shrimp were stellar. Owner Jim Hickey's hospitality stood out—he spent over an hour chatting with us and he greeted every guest that walked by. It's clear he values his regulars. And there are a lot of regulars!
The atmosphere, service and food delivers on on every level. A solid choice for anyone craving...read full review
If you might need to use restroom during visit do not choose this establishment. Had a security guard preventing paying customers from using restrooms and directing us to “port a potty’s out back”. Port a potty’s were in parking lot behind the bar next door. After ordering drinks and an app we tabbed out. There are plenty of good restaurants in this area. Don’t waste your time or money in this place that doesn’t appreciate you or your business.
Me and my husband came here on the 27th in the evening after a long day for the first time. The food was amazing but the service was poor He didn't get his refill or tartar sauce til he was finished with his food. The young waitress was helping everyone. The older one didn't greet us or check on us. I would not recommend. We came from Wylie and was very disappointed.

Charlie's Creole Kitchen is a long-standing restaurant known for its Cajun classics and Louisiana seafood. The atmosphere is laid-back, described as a "dive bar" with friendly and attentive staff. Popular menu items include fried combo plates, seafood pasta, shrimp po-boys, and crawfish boils. Customers have enjoyed appetizers like fried green tomatoes, which come with a divine Creole mustard sauce. The kitchen is noted for its speed, serving food piping hot, with dishes like the Monica pasta loaded with crawdad tails and baked flounder with grits and spinach. Many guests praise their oysters Rockefeller and grilled oysters in garlic cream sauce, describing them as succulent and juicy, complemented by delicious sauces and great bread. The restaurant also serves good gumbo and outstanding red beans and rice, made with their own bread. The owner’s hospitality makes guests feel welcome, and the service is exceptional, even during busy nights. Despite the casual setting, the food is highly regarded, making Charlie's Creole Kitchen a solid choice for anyone craving authentic Creole cuisine in Dallas, offering good food, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere.
