“We were visiting from out of town and a local friend recommended this restaurant. My tween daughter and I had dinner here, and it was phenomenal! The food was so good, I went back and got takeout too. Can’t say enough about the delicious, clean food! We had fish tacos, smoked chicken salad and a small Brussels sprouts salad. Picky eater daughter had the kids chicken tacos and raved! Yum!“

“My two best friends took me to Sevy’s last night to celebrate my birthday. We had an extraordinary experience. Our waiter, Brandon was sweet, accommodating and kind. He acknowledged my birthday with rose petals tossed on the table, a visit from Mr. Sevy and the manager AND a complimentary dessert plus a Sevy’s bottle of spice to take home. I’ve dined at alot of restaurants in Dallas over many years. The customer service snd attention here was phenomenal. “This restaurant, named for our 43rd American President, is the best kept secret in Dallas. Granted they are only open from 11 AM-2:30 PM Monday through Saturday, so they are really missing out on an opportunity for Sunday brunch. It is located in the same building as the George Bush library to the right of the fountain before the museum entrance and is a lunch spot with a brunch item or two on the menu. It is a truly lovely space with large original paintings on the walls and small sculptures, floor to ceiling windows looking out onto a lovely patio with oversized shutters above to shield patrons from some of the sunlight. The food is excellent and thoughtful. We had a large party, so we ordered a variety of things which all received rave reviews from the fried avocado appetizer, crab salad with freshly snipped chives, chicken fried steak, amazing pecan crusted chicken, omelette, grilled chicken sandwich, grilled cheese for the kids, and outstanding homemade ice creams for dessert. Even the vanilla earned high praise! The service is friendly, attentive, and efficient, and prices are shockingly reasonable for the quality of the experience and the food. Portions are Texas style: generous. It's a wonderful spot to bring out of town guests— even highly particular ones!“

“Best restaurant in Coppell“

“This once was a favorite restaurant for me but sadly its seen better days, I built a lot of memories here. But this evening was the most horrible restaurant experience that I have ever had in all of Dallas. The manager by the name of XAVIER half way into our meal stated that DRAKES by order of the owner HUNTER POND has a time limit in their dining experience. XAVIER was rude, hurried and condescending while there were several empty tables on a wednesday night He obviously knows nothing about customer service but was evidently made a manager by Mr Pond because he drives the numbers by chasing guests out of the restaurant to create capacity. The quality of the food has gone down substantially and the management in place knows nothing about quality service. Going out to dinner and spending a considerable amount of money should not be accompanied by rude uncouth service in the most hurried manner and complimented with very mediocre food and terrible service. I would not recommend this restaurant at any level. I am personally very sad to see Drakes in this light. I would like a personal call from Mr. Pond himself. Service: 0 Food: Mediocre“

“Came here the first time on a Saturday afternoon for a friends birthday dinner. We were upstairs near the bar. The menu by the bar is very limited which was disappointing. I ordered the ricotta dip to share, which was ok, but not enough for dinner, so I was going to order something else, but the waitress never came back. She was very nice but seemed overwhelmed. I will say the 2 drinks I had were great and the atmosphere was fun. We had a great time but I left hungry. My friend had a great time and that’s all that matters. I would like to come back and actually have a chance to eat from the dinner menu.“

“Our food was very good and the restaurant is a nice setting. The candied bacon is a good simple starter. We sat outside on the patio and it was enjoyable and everyone loved their food (eventually). The service on the other hand was pretty bad unfortunately. Two of our four meals were completely wrong when first delivered. That happens from time to time so no big deal, but our waiter didn't check on the table much at all and then when we did need something and finally got a hold of him, he took a very long time to bring anything out. The manager (I assume) did come by to apologize and said she was removing the wrong items from the bill but then when the check came, that wasn't the case. We'll for sure return though since the food was good and maybe our waiter just was having a bad day.“

“This place was amazing. From the food, service, to atmosphere, everything here was excellent.
The dog friendly patio is a really nice touch and has a huge outdoor TV to watch.
Started off with the spinach artichoke dip and this was hands down the best I've had. It was also served with some homemade sauce that was kind of a cross between salsa and BBQ sauce, which was delicious.
I decided to go with the handmade tamales, as I'm from Iowa and don't get a chance for great Mexican food all that often. These did not disappoint. Along with the rice and borracho beans which were both delicious made for a great meal. It was my first time having borracho beans and they quickly became one of my favorites. The flavoring they did here was amazing.
My aunt ordered the chicken flautas, which she gave me a couple of and these were something I would definitely consider ordering next time I come back, which I will definitely do before I leave town as this became one of my favorite restaurants.“

“11/10 ✨ Our company has our annual Year End party at Chelsea Corner. This is my first year having to put it together, but when I say “put it together,” that was ALL them! I selected options for food, budget, drink etc… and they did the rest. They were in constant communication with me from day one and made an absolutely beautiful, fun event for us last night. I can’t say enough about ARMANDO! He is an angel. He is so talented and great at being an event manager. He was there for our event and was checking in with me the whole night, refilling drinks, making sure no one was getting too out of line etc. we also had a guest who needed a gluten free option which was not provided with our buffet, so he had the kitchen whip something up within TEN minutes of the request. All of the staff were top tier as well. Thank you SO much for such an amazing evening. You are all the absolute prime example of great customer service & events. 💕“

“My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed brunch today to celebrate Valentine’s Day. My husband had the Texan Omelette and a biscuit on the side and I had the Southern Benny. Both dishes were outstanding. I had the jalapeño grits with my meal and they were really delicious. This was our first time to come to J. Macklin’s for brunch and I look forward to our next visit. Our server was Cameron. He knew everything we asked about the dishes, he was friendly and very attentive. We will be asking for Cameron on our next visit. Great job Cameron and J. Macklin’s!“
