“Rain or shine, you can enjoy Donuts anytime! I've been enjoying these donuts for almost thirty years since 1994! Today I got there when they first opened up and was able to enjoy a buttermilk donut still warm and it was delicious! The sausage rolls are always great. This jewel can't be seen from Forest Hill drive, but it's near Cicis pizza. The owners are very friendly and dedicated to serving good quality items.“

Some flavors were definitely better than others, but even the ones I didn’t love were still good. The cookies are pretty big and rich, so sharing is honestly the way to go unless you have a serious sweet tooth. My personal favorite was the classic chocolate chip—it’s simple but done really well.

The only downside is the price. They’re more expensive than your average cookie, but for the size and quality, it kind of makes sense. Overall, it’s a great place to go if you want a treat that feels a little more special than your usual dessert.“

Evidently Mindy Lu must use a similar technique. I was introduced to Mindy Lu here in Del Río at the 5 Points convenience store about 4 months ago when there was an ownership change. “This place is AWESOME. It is in a strip center so be sure to not drive right past it. The atmosphere gives a nostalgic retro vibe. Lots of toys and collectibles to look at (which is right in my wheelhouse.) Has seating room inside for you to enjoy your delicious donut selections. Lots of choices to choose from between filled, traditional and unique creations as well as sausage rolls and cinnamon rolls and I am sure more. Be sure to follow them on Facebook for their limited run donuts so you don't miss those. The quality is above any average run of the mill donut shop. You can tell they are made with unique recipes, care and attention. Soft pillowy and great tasting. The service is also very casual, welcoming and friendly. I will definitely be going back frequently.“

“Not gonna lie, cake was absolutely delicious and I still recommend it to anyone , however my wedding cake didn’t look like what I expected ..that was my only disappointment and it was plain . I expected something a little more based on previous work I’ve seen and didn’t look like the pictures. I looked back at the consultation notes to make sure cause it says see picture but it’s ok it was still very good everyone was talking about how good it tasted and the cupcakes were perfect !“

“My husband and I went for dinner and stopped by this bakery on a whim. Imagine my surprise when they had a gluten free cheesecake (among many many other flavors! We were so impressed with the selection.) It is so so rare that I get to have “treats” and we brought our dessert home and it was incredible! Will definitely be back!“

“The Black Rose Donut cafe is more than a donut shop. They are open all day and serve burgers, fries, wings, and more. Not only is the food excellent, it is prices way below other places. I have easily paid more than twice as much for food of less quality. If you like good food, low prices, and supporting small businesses, you should definitely add them to the top of your list of places to try!“

“Mana’Eesh is absolutely delicious. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care.

We had the falafel, hummus, and a variety of flatbread including kafta, meat, halloumi, and cheese and za’atar. Every single one was amazing! The falafel was perfectly crispy, the hummus was smooth and rich, and the flatbreads were warm, well-seasoned, and incredibly satisfying.

“The hubs and I stopped by for a bagel and coffee. We ended up ordering more lol. He had the bagel Sandwich and a muffin which was amazing! I ordered a caramel cold brew which was perfect, a bagel with cream cheese, and a blueberry muffin. All were fresh, warm and delicious. We miss the Italian wedding soup that Olive Garden use to have and they serve it here so we will be back to try that and their tomato basil soup!“
