“My first time here and it was quite enjoyable. My wife comes with her sons more often so I let her pick what to eat. We had the Croque Monsieur and a Chocolate Croissant. I can say this was the best Croissant I have ever had. We sat inside, which was a first for my wife, she usually sits in the back by the fountain.“
“They did an AMAZING job on my daughter’s three-tier birthday cake. Executed it so well from the inspiration photo. I don’t think many people are fond of fondant but the actual cake inside and filling was delicious. I’ve only tried coconut and red velvet and both are wonderful.“

This bakery is awesome, every single time and every single item I order is delicious, fresh and on point. I have mostly ordered catered orders both local and out of state for a birthday party of more than 500 people, and every single time it is 5 star service. Everyone I have referred also says the same thing about the business and the pastries. I don’t know why there are nothing less than 5 stars from reviewers. “I've been meaning to visit this place for years and haven't had the chance until recently. You can take your time selecting as you serve yourself on a tray before going up for payment. They took care placing everything neatly for me to go. A welcoming atmosphere, beautiful FRESH selection of pan dulce, and I got so much for what I paid for! I got about 12 pieces, 2 of 6 different varieties. All of my pastries were wonderful and tasted amazing over the course of the few days we ate everything. I was so happy and pleased, and I will gladly be coming back often!“
“I was in Katy for work for a few months, and my only complaint was that I didn’t find this shop sooner. I can be a bit picky when it comes to coffee shops, having worked in a smaller chain of shops through college. Coffee shops that make a proper cappuccino in big cities like these can be hard to come by, so asking for a cappuccino is always a good way to gauge the care put into their craft (also, it’s cheaper and delicious). Lava’s the only shop that didn’t respond with “what size”, and made the perfect cap every time (with some pretty great latte art to boot). I even got the name of a sweet Japanese playlist from one of the guys working there, and even though I’ve moved again I still listen to it whenever I’m studying/working. It’s got the vibes, the best coffee, and should be the go-to for anyone in the area (I know it will be for me when I come back).“

“this is hands-down, my favorite bakery in the entire world. The bread is the most savory thing in the world and I can only imagine it’s because they would use MSG or pig lard. I enjoy the garlic cheese bread the most, and I would also recommend the hibiscus lemonade. I don’t know of any other asian Bakery’s, but if you know of some, please let me know. With top notch quality and exceptionally friendly customer service, put simply, Beard Papa’s Katy cares! Don’t forget to try different combinations from the cream puff shells to melting in your mouth custard flavors! Their exclusive drinks have also been the talk of the town. Our personal favorites are the coconut coffee and salted caramel whipped coffee!!! These completely exceeded our expectations. Their other fruity drinks are also very refreshing, especially with the Texas heat! Tropic Thunder is definitely unmatchable. “There are many places to get kolaches in this area of Texas, however, they’re not all Kolache Foctory. I use this location the most, but you will get pretty much the same great taste at every location and at this one the staff are very courteous. If you’re in the area, stop in and try the recent flavor of the month: eggs and Chile (it’s mild spice to me). You can never go wrong with the tried and true bacon, eggs and cheese kolache. This was the first time having the pecan roast coffee and it’s got a great aroma!“

I had never heard of kolaches before, but while visiting friends in Houston, they suggested trying them one morning for breakfast, it was a great choice. The staff were efficient and very friendly, and there is a huge selection of kolache fillings in the restaurant. I think I went with ham and cheese, and sausage and egg. Two were enough for breakfast. As other people have mentioned, they're really handy to eat while on the go - no mess. Great value too. I really want to look up some kolache recipes, as I don't think we have them in Ireland. The coffee was good too.“
