A mistake had been made and Cherrie fixed it and moved my family and I to a new table, offering to pay for our meal. They only take cash, Zelle, or Cash App—not a problem these days. I had the Chicken Murphy—flavorful sauce, perfectly cooked mushrooms, just the right kick—absolute chef’s kiss! My husband had spaghetti with marinara and Italian sausage, with generous portions and a homemade-tasting sauce. “04/22/2025: Joe’s has been around for years and is a pretty decent Italian American food in the Mesquite/Sunnyvale area. The place does need a thorough interior refresh. It is really dated, dark and showing lots of wear and tear. My family and I only get food to go. Service is okay as well.“

“Just happened to see this place while I was looking at my map app and decided to try it. If you blink you will pass the place because it looks like it's connected to their house. Almost like they turned the garage into a pizza place.

“I went today around 11am and I want to shout out to the busser, a young black gentleman, who did a PHENOMENAL job. He prebussed, he got us drink refills, brought us pizza and dessert and was just the sweetest! This is our usual Friday lunch spot but the experience was elevated today bc of the wonderful worker! “First time here and wanted to try it out. The pizza taste great and reminds me a little of pizza back home with the great tasting handmade crust. I like how the Italian sausage is crumbled and not big pieces. The wings were good too. I believe the older short guy with glasses who took my order and made it was the owner. He even greeted me and my fiance when we came in. Not too many ppl greet you nowadays nor do they speak on your way out. This is a family owned place but it could use some cleaning and slight remodeling. I felt bad because I feel like he may not have anyone to help in that area. I did not like that the price for the pizza on the menu didn't quite match what was on the board. $15 for a Large 3 topping that looks more like a medium. I also did not like how Abraham's customer service was when I tried to call back 20 minutes after we got home and ate to speak to the owner and tell him how much we enjoyed the pizza and wings. He was rude, rushy, unprofessional. He did not care about nothing I said, he was just rushing me to place an order when that was not what I called for. He said the owner left but I don't think the owner left because we literally was just there. I really hope that the guy wasn't really the owner the whole time. This place has potential though.“

Great first-time experience at Palio’s Pizza in Royse City!

Located in the Walmart parking lot across from Murphy’s gas station, this spot is clean, cool (AC was on!), and had delicious, fresh, gourmet food—we enjoyed everything we ordered.

A couple of helpful notes for first-timers:
• The front entrance can be confusing. Like others, we went to the left door by mistake—the right has a short wall and the door looks like part of the nail salon. A standalone “Welcome” sign with arrow could help new customers find the right entrance more easily.
• The bathrooms were clean, but the women’s restroom door didn’t lock—not a huge issue but something to consider fixing, especially for parents with kids.

This location is more of a “order at the counter, then sit or take it to go” setup, so it’s helpful to know what you want before walking in to avoid slowing down the line.

Overall, we had a great time and will definitely be back—next time we’ll come in a little more “pro” about it. 😉“
