“We flew from Pensacola FL and had to visit. When I saw EVERYTHING was on point and delicious. Staff was so friendly, food was hot & fresh and I have NEVER had better tasting food from a restaurant. “I genuinely could not have had a better experience at Citizens. The service was amazing. The staff were all so attentive and nice. My server Kent was very helpful and kind. I ordered the espresso martini, brussel sprouts, the chicken parm, and the tiramisu. Everything was amazing. I don't usually love brussel sprouts, but these were a perfect balance with the slight sweetness and crunch that came from the pistachios and bacon. The vodka parm was 10/10. Even the arugla salad was good, but the chicken fries really stole the show. The tiramisu was very light and creamy, with a slight taste of the lemon in the cream. All-in-all it was an amazing experience one of the best meals I've had in a while. I will definitely be dining here again and recommending it to people.“

Another person in our group enjoyed the ham and cheese Benedict and the pork Benedict, and both were equally outstanding. The retro decor added a fun, nostalgic vibe to the restaurant, making the experience even more enjoyable. Not only was the food amazing, but it also arrived exactly as we ordered it. “Franks Grill on Telephone Road opened in 1963 by my neighbors Frank and Bertha Mae Jones of Glenbrook Valley, Houston. I washed dishes on opening day and my mother "Pipsy" was the cashier. Frank greeted every customer personally with a smile. Bertha Mae baked the best homemade pies in the world, all from scratch. For breakfast you got a half a plate of hashbrowns with 2 sausage patties and 2 eggs. Add coffee all for under $3 Dollars. I ate there most of my life and is still good today.“

“My neighbor brought over an extra dozen donuts over from Home Cut Donuts. I thanked her, put the on my kitchen table but was reluctant 2 try them because they usually don't compare 2 the Houston donut shop errrr institution that has been here since 1936, but they have not been tasting like they used 2, lately. I eventually tried them ( 2 ). I put them in the microwave for 10 seconds. I took a bite. I was surprised. They tasted a lot better than I thought. The donuts were very tasty, especially w/ their sugary glaze. Next time, I want refrigerate them over night, microwave them & then taste them. See how they taste. That would be a true test. Would buy them again ? YES ! ! ! !“

“Flew in during our Honeymoon. We stayed at the La Quinta overnight. We walked over from there to the restaurant. I have forgotten the name of the waitress, but she had all the southern kindness and hospitality. We really liked the food and experience, with the service being the highlight.“
