Stopped by on a Sunday at 9am and they had egg tarts, wife cakes, pineapple buns and other items - mostly in the back. They speak English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. The prices are reasonable. The parking lot is shared with some other restaurants so it can get pretty packed. There's a couple long tables but we didn't stay to eat. We ordered the pineapple bun, wife cake, and egg tarts. BEST EGG CUSTARD TARTS IN HOUSTON. (Honestly might be the best ever because I haven't had better elsewhere.) I've been holding off on reviewing this place for a long time. But I wanted to visit enough times to see if I still love it - and I do. Eck Bakery is a Houston staple. The egg tarts are always fresh. The base is flakey and buttery. Hands down the best Chinese egg tarts (Dan tat) in Houston and maybe one of the best in the states. So flaky and delicious when hot. They also have really delicious mango mochi. One of my favorite bakeries in Chinatown due to those two items. They take Venmo now as well. They have a table that you can sit at but this is more of a place for takeout. Plenty of parking in the plaza.
