La Griglia is a superb ristorante located fairly close to downtown Houston. The locale is lovely, and the dining room is beautifully appointed. The food is excellent, beautifully served by an attentive and very congenial waitstaff. The cuisine is exquisite, with beautifully presented dishes using excellent ingredients, such as the magnificent Crab and Shrimp "cheesecake" slice made with Mascarpone. The Salads are first-rate, and the Veal and Pasta dishes are superb. While there was an unfortunate experience with a waiter, the overall dining experience is very nice, with good food and great service. The decor and feel are more upscale than the previous location, with waiters in tuxes and vintage pictures of Houston and Hollywood celebrities adorning the walls.
