Nice birthday dinner. The waiter Mason I think was excellent. He takes pride in his job. The food was good. We ordered a steak but it was not filet so there were some fatty chewy pieces of meat I did not like. I am a Landrys member so good to get points but forgot to remind waiter to take off the $25 bday reward. Anyway, M&S is a good place for downtown dining. The rodeo crowd and out of towners filled the place.
Food was very good but kitchen was backed up and service was extremely slow. It was Friday night before a concert but given that essentially all parties had reservations, not sure why it took 10 min to be seated, 15 min before waiter came initially, 20 min to get a drink and almost an elapsed hour before food came. Ahi tuna was excellent and prepared well / right temp. Waiter tried to make it for it by brining check promptly -- he tried -- but kitchen and bar were overwhelmed.
Sat at the bar for lunch...Nikki was helpful and attentive although she had to run from bar to the front to the bar to get food etc. I got the chopped salad with salmon and it never disappoints.
