“First of all the smell when I walked in was like home. I could smell the flavor and the seasoning it was so captivating. The first course arrives, (appetizer) CROSTINI: grilled focaccia topped with jalapeño goat cheese smothered in a rich homemade marinara sauce!!!!!😋and it’s like a tiny masterpiece on a plate. The second course the PECAN TOPPED SALMON: wild caught Alaskan salmon topped with pesto and a pecan crust absolutely cooked to perfection. The flavors are layered, fresh, and vibrant. Each bite is a perfect balance of textures and tastes that somehow both surprise and comfort you at the same time. The German brown bread with maple butter on top was the right amount of sweetness. Again😋….. The whole experience lingers with you long after you’ve finished. It wasn’t just a meal—it was an event. And when you leave, you can’t help but feel grateful, as if you’ve just had the privilege of experiencing something rare and extraordinary. “was in town for my granddaddys celebration of life. 9 of us arrived at 7p which was an hour before closing, most restaurants would have gotta upset seeing us all coming in but not Pines Cafe. got two tables put together and promptly got drinks. we all ordered food from lbs of shrimp and crawfish. they make the food to order and it was well worth the wait. grilled squash was really good and so was the shrimp and crawfish. kind staff too makes it all that much better. havent been to lake o the Pines since 2018. loved and highly recommend this place.”

“This was our first time to 1852. We were not disappointed! We had a party of 7. Everyone loved their food and the service was totally outstanding! This will be my go to for any special occasion!”

“Without a doubt, the place to go for your BBQ needs! The ribs (which is what we got both times) were moist, nice and smokey and so tender! Delicious!! We stopped by while camping at Caddo Lake State Park and are so glad we did! If we lived closer (Colorado Springs is a bit far...lol) This would be our go to place all the time!. Will and Lucy are very nice and the prices are great. Definitely recommend!”

“Fantastic food and an overall great experience at Riverport BBQ. The sliced brisket sandwich was outstanding, tender, flavorful, and generously portioned. The young lady who served us and brought our food to the table was cheerful, attentive, and kind despite how busy it was, and I truly wish I had gotten her name. When I asked for onions and pickles, she happily grabbed them, which made us feel genuinely welcomed.

Unfortunately, the cashier and order taker (I believe her name was Crystal) was the only downside. As first-time visitors, we asked a few simple menu questions, but her tone and impatience made us feel uncomfortable, especially while on vacation. After reading other reviews, it seems this has been a recurring issue.

I am still giving five stars because it would not be fair to the owner or the wonderful server we had to let one role overshadow an otherwise excellent experience. My sincere hope is that Crystal finds a position where she can be truly effective, perhaps one that does not require frequent customer interaction. That would benefit both her and Riverport BBQ.

If the order-taking experience had been pleasant, this place would be absolutely perfect. We would happily return for the brisket and the wonderful owner alone.”

“It was a nice surprise to find reasonably priced doughnuts, kolaches, and breakfast sandwiches. I live in the Houston area, where these items have more than doubled in price in the last couple years.

The blueberry donuts were amazing. I also loved their sausage kolaches and the boudin kolache. My wife said the fried egg on her croissant sandwich was better than she has had in a long time.

Highly recommended.”

“Mom and I just had dinner here tonight, and it was AMAZING!! Yummy beans at the bean bar, what was hands-down one of the best chicken fried steaks I’ve had in years slathered in a delicious cream gravy, top tier sweet tea and a takeaway piece of Brown Cow cake that I’m sloooowly working on even now. Food was 10/10, staff and service were 10/10. We will DEFINITELY be back!”

“Cambodian and Southern style fried food.
The owners and staff are very helpful and friendly. They do have some hot and ready Cambodian food in the warmers up front (fried rice, chow mein and multiple entrees of your choice)but the rest is cooked when you order (fried fish, buffalo wings, etc.) so don't be in too much of a rush, it's worth the wait.”

“What a delight!! Zoey, the cupcake baker, helped me make my decision for a Texas Turtle cupcake sundae. Oh.My.Goodness! So decadent. So Beautiful! Shared with my husband, who wholeheartedly agrees. Ice cream is made with honey and it's so good. Lovely day for a lovely treat. Unlike anything I've ever had before!! I'm gonna say run on over!!! It's time to celebrate!! You won't be disappointed!”

“I will not spend another cent at this place. The last 2 times I have ordered pizza including today, I have asked for extra sauce and extra cheese because the pizza is always so dry. Both times, I have gotten pizzas with next to no sauce and very little cheese. I'm basically getting bread with whatever topping I ask for.”
