“First went there earlier this year, impressed us the minute we walked in the door, employees greet you upon entering with a truly warm, illuminating smile. When we were seated, we wanted to watch a certain game and the manager, Laura really went out of her way, bent over backwards to ensure they found the game(s) we wanted to watch, then ensured that the games would stay on ! The waitress who waited on us ( can't remember her name ) was exactly like the manager, helpful, courteous and quick with her service, thus resulting in making this our favorite location for watching sports with the drinks and menu items to order, with this type service, we will always make this our number 1 location !! Thank You For Everything !!“

“This was a great find for when we are in town. I always try to go several times while I’m here. I love that they have sugar free syrup options and alternative milk options. They also have adorable coffee bears and milk bears. The bears aren’t sugar free but they are delicious!“

“It's a nice place, but if I drop into a neighborhood (or any) coffee shop on a Sat a.m. I expect a Sat a.m. "coffee atmosphere" - quiet, laid-back. Suddenly in comes a bunch of pre-teens, cackling and shouting. Too many parents make the mistake of assuming that we all want to see and hear their kids: teach them to recognize and respect quiet. Otherwise, as I said, a nice and convenient spot with a good selection for coffee and low-dB conversation.“

“Took my husband here for his birthday breakfast and may I say, this place does not disappoint. We ordered the beignet breakfast sandwiches (one with bacon🥓 & the other with ham). The scramble eggs was super fluffy & generously thick inside the very tasty beignet bun. But best of all, the owners & staff were very, very friendly & gave great customer service. “The food is really good! We did have a disappointing experience at the drive thru when we ordered a burger & fries and were told you couldn’t order fries with a burger! They do have fries but they only came with certain entrees and they could not add them to my burger order. We couldn’t even order them as a side dish & pay extra. Who doesn’t serve fries with a burger?!? It did come with home made chips, which were mediocre, but the burger was good. We were told by staff that it was a storage issue and they didn’t have the space to store fries for their entrees & fries for their burgers. As a former business owner, I hope they figure out this issue because I believe the majority of people who order a burger prefer fries IMHO.“

“Last night, I went to Carriqui with a party of two. We ordered Tuna Tostadas, Guacamole, Chicken Tortilla Soup, Birria, Flan, Tres Leches, and Margaritas.

Tuna Tostadas – Lights out! Sprinkle some lemon on top, take a bite, and it’s just sooo good. The flavors are perfectly balanced. Easily a must-order.
Birria – As someone who loves heavily seasoned food, I didn’t get a strong flavor kick from it, but the lamb was cooked beautifully. I’m glad I tried it!
Tres Leches – The star of the night. Hands down the best Tres Leches I’ve ever had. I’ve only tasted this dessert in Charlotte, NC before, but this one? Perfect. I devoured the whole thing.
Guacamole – So fresh, great texture.
Flan – Good, but Tres Leches stole the show. (I’m also not a huge caramel fan, so I’m a little biased.)
Chicken Tortilla Soup – This one didn’t do it for me.
Margaritas – I really enjoyed these, they are so refreshing.

Beyond the food, the ambiance was amazing. We sat outside, and everything—the music, weather, lighting—was chef’s kiss.

“I'm not exaggerating when I say this is my favorite place to eat in San Antonio. Located near the airport in a tucked away location, RO-HO Pork & Bread is a hidden gem. This is comfort food at it's finest. Ro-Ho has many great things on the menu, but they are best known for their Torta Ahogada, and it's what I get almost every time. The torta is always hot, the carnitas cooked to perfection, and the tomato salsa is to die for. You can get the torta with straight carnitas or you can mix it up with carnitas, pork stomach and skin, which is what I usually get. The torta also comes with cabbage, onion, radish and lime. No matter how you order it, it's going to be great! The place is super cool, with Mexican artwork and music. There is inside seating and an outside covered patio as well. Everything you can get to drink from the cold case is always ice cold. And they serve one of my favorite Mexican beers, Victoria. Chef Rojo is often around and greets customers. The ladies that work the register and food line are so friendly, and will answer questions if it's your first time. The place fills up quickly at lunch, so keep that in mind. I drive clear across town for my Torta Ahogada fix, if that says anything! Check this place out!“

“It is a good place to relax and visit until the bands show up. Then you can't hear each other. The Crispy Chicken is the BEST in San Antonio area! It would be nice if they had more draft choices. Usually only have 4, but they have several varieties in cans and bottles. Park early or else park across the tracks.“
