“Visited Gruene Coffee Haus today and enjoyed my lunch consisting of a warmed chocolate laced chocolate chip muffin and a medium latte with a heart beautifully and artistically topping it. “In the area for the winter months to escape Northern snow, we are always looking for fun things to do while we're here. A recent Facebook event at 5 Stones Artisan Brewery caught our attention so we decided to give it a try. And what a delightful surprise it was! Not only do they have tasty brews, but food, a bakery, and a coffee shop, too. Our favorite beers were the Snipe Hunter, Aloha Pena, and Toby G's. The first being a stout is always a good choice and the other two were interestingly different and flavorful. The food at the event was pizza. We chose a Meat pie and it went well with the brews. I finished off with an amazing Maple Latte (I'm the coffee lover.) We got bakery items to go - sourdough bread, pecan twists, and chocolate chunk cookies. All very delicious. The ribs are fall off the bone tender! I ordered the turkey sandwich and a sausage roll. The turkey was fantastic! Their corn, and the mac and cheese was also good. I’ve got to say, out of all of this goodness, the star of the show that tied it all together was their mango habanero BBQ sauce!! Dynamite!!!! Thank you for a great dining experience! “Everything was great about Kraus’. Husband and I were in the area for our dog’s vet appt and needed lunch when she was done. Found this dog-friendly, beer having spot! The reuben wasn’t anything special, but it was yummy. Dressing served on the side. German potato salad has mustard and vinegar which leads to a very acidic flavor profile that wasn’t my cup of tea. Husband got the venison burger and ate it right up. Wish we’d live closer and we’d probably become regulars.“
“Tre and Angel are amazing hosts. I brought a group from work and it could not have gone better. Hosts are extremely knowledgeable about wine, we just told them what we liked and they consistently gave us wine that matched. They also recommended some different ones we haven't tried. This place popped up in my search and had decent reviews so we gave it a try. The chicken and waffle was good and I was kinda skeptical on eggs but they tasted good. The potatoes were good as well. We got there before there was a crowd so it took about 15-20 mins to get food. Crowd started to show up as we were leaving. Everyone was friendly that worked here.“

I also has the salad, and it was wonderful, too! I just wish I had a bigger appetite to try everything, but this establishment differentiates its products by having a beef & pork patty, which adds a wonderful dimension of flavor to the food. “I’ve had lunch here twice and plan to be a regular. I’ve had both the chicken and mushroom sandwiches, both with the gluten free bread. It’s hard to pull off tasty gluten free bread but they have. The mushroom/ veggie sandwich had just the right amount of portobello without bringing overwhelming. It was a nice balance of veggies with cheese to add a little richness.The chicken pesto sandwich I had on my first visit was equally delicious. I was suspicious of avocado, mayonnaise and pesto but it was wonderful,The kitchen is open do you can see your dish prepared. It’s very clean and the staff is contentious with the preparation. The only thing I would note, is that there is very limited seating. You are not guaranteed a seat, but you are guaranteed to have a good time if you enjoy a good historical feel. Drinks are not cheap, but that’s how you know it will be worth it. The speakeasy is NOT kid friendly, but there is an are above the speakeasy where minors are allowed.“

“Their Hill Country Vanilla is as good as it gets. My old Texas ranchin fam has been making home made vanilla forever and I am a vanilla ice cream snob. Rich dairy flavor is the star of the show, as it should be. The vanilla is juuust a hint. Fat content is perfect. Density offers a creamy spoon pull yet it is dense and thick with little to no air whipped in. Not overly sweet at all. I have to give it a solid 10. Go try it as fast as u can. Now, the ice cream server was stoic and not enthused. I felt like I was bothering her. She simply grunted when it was her turn to offer any verbiage aaannnd did not thank me so it was a stretch to give 2 stars on service but you expect it most places. 2 nice scoops was just under $8.00 but like I said it is as good as it gets !! “Went to Roost the other day on a recommendation and have been thinking about it ever since. I got the Madilyn's Chicken Salad on Sourdough and almost died from how good it was. The bread was griddled in butter- perfectly crispy and uniform. The chicken salad was amazing too-the earthiness of the macadamia was complimented so nicely with a pop of sweetness from the pineapple. I graciously offered a bite to my grandfather and fiancé and they both really liked it as well. The staff was amazing too. I'm gonna get their names wrong but I think it was Brooklyn and Kindal?
