“This location is a favorite go to for my family and myself. Ordering delivery dosen't disappoint in the culinary skills of the cook from this establishment. I would suggest that dining in is even more rewarding in atmosphere, service and quality of the dishes prepared by the cook. Also, the sushi prepared here is definitely top tier for me in taste and presentation. The wonderful people working here get a 5 star from me for never failing to provide great service as well as tasteful food.“

“I travel for work and spend a lot of time in Houston, which I call Sooshton, for how many wonderful sushi spots there are. I’ve been wined and dined in the best of them. There has not been an experience I’ve had that rivals the experience I had tonight at Norigami. The dishes, prepared by the chef right in front of you, are top notch, above and beyond expectations. The service is equally as phenomenal. These folks made me feel like a rockstar, heard every word I said on my preferences, and made recommendations that NEVER ONCE missed. Every cent you spend, you fully taste, and experience. I’ve not been to a restaurant where I’ve felt more relaxed, at home, and confident in what I ordered. Every morsel, every sip, every moment, was thoroughly enjoyed thanks to the unbeatable staff here. “We went for a celebratory lunch post-graduation. The graduation went long, but we were able to move our reservation with no issues - Uchiko was very flexible! They also made us feel like it was a special occasion. The food, of course, was amazing. It was all very interesting and delicious, with lots of citrus touches that I really love. The restaurant is beautiful inside, at a great location near the Galleria, with a thoughtful staff. I don't live in Houston so I can't make this a regular eexperience, but it was worth it.“

“I was recommended to go to Haii Kei by Rosie from the C. Baldwin Hotel after I told her I was looking for a really good steak, and she was absolutely right. From the moment we walked in, the place had a great vibe. The atmosphere was beautiful, modern but relaxed, and the energy in the room just felt right.

The drinks were on point, especially the Ube Espresso Martini… it was phenomenal. For dinner, I had the Wangyu Steak and the Thai Shrimp, and both were outstanding. We finished it off with the Ube Cheesecake (picture below), which was the perfect ending.

But what really blew me away was the service. Our server, Monsarrat, was incredible. We even told her at the table how good of a job she was doing. The attention to detail, timing, and genuine conversation made the whole night feel special.

Between the food, drinks, atmosphere, and service, this was easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. I’ll definitely be back.“

“I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food was really good and stands on its own, independently of it being served within an all-you-can eat context. That's not something i can say about other all-you-eat offerings in general. Also the one complimentary beer with the dinner was also a nice surprise.“

“I had the Shoyu truffle ramen and it was probably the best ramen I've ever had in the US. I was born and raised in Japan, and this reminded me of being back home. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing as well. I am definitely going to be back again soon.“

I asked if they had a wait time, and they said they had an open spot available for one. It was at 830pm mind you. When I got there, they no longer had it available, or at least that's what the host said, and then the host said they were no longer taking spots so I was out of luck at 830pm(they close at 10pm). Then immediately following this another pair of people walked in, and they took their names. I've been coming to Oishii since 2007, and when a restaurant rejects you like this, all I can think is to pretty much no longer visit. I guess if you go by yourself you're not welcome. I won't be returning, so that's how you lose a customer of 18 years.“

“My sister and I did the Omakase, and amazing is a massive understatement. This was hands down the best sushi I have ever had, and I will happily pronounce that I believe this is the best sushi resturant in the city of Houston. Angela, our waitress was so wonderful, and an aboslute joy the entire evening. Chef Andy's presentation and flavors for each dish were beyond immaculate. I cannot recommend Sasaki enough, and if you're wanting the best Omakase experience in the city, this is the spot to go.“

“IWA YA is one of my go-to Japanese spots in Houston’s Chinatown. It’s a popular place, especially on weekends and during lunch, so you’ll usually see a steady crowd and sometimes a line — but it moves quickly.

When you order, you simply give them the table or booth number you plan to sit at, and they’ll bring the food to you. We tried a sushi roll and a bento box (around $11), which came with grilled fish, salad, fried tofu, and shrimp tempura — a great value for what you get.

One of the best parts of eating here is the self-serve extras: unlimited corn soup, miso soup, hot water, and red bean dessert. You just grab a bowl or cup and help yourself. It’s a small touch that adds a lot to the overall experience.

Service is always friendly and fast, and the restaurant has plenty of seating. Parking is easy too, thanks to the large shared lot outside.

If you’re in Houston’s Chinatown and want solid Japanese food at a reasonable price, Iwaya is definitely worth a visit.“

“Brand new restaurant. This is a quickly growing franchise out of atlanta. It is a really unique place. They have a fusion of Asian Foods including some really fun stuff like a sushi donut, Sushi corn dog and even sushi pizza! The ramen portions are large and packed full of proteins and vegetables. You will not go away hungry. The Thai iced tea is awesome as well, like an Asian Starbucks frappuccino. The food came out really fast. They have a very easy to get to location right off the Southwest Freeway highway 6 exit ramp. They also have an awesome patio which I plan to hang out on quite a bit. They are also right next to some super popular night Hangouts, Pacific Coast tacos and Spectators Bar and Grill. This will be my new favorite hangout for a while.“

“This is my new favorite sushi spot. Right in the heart of River Oaks District Shopping Center. I came for their happy hour which is 3-6p weekdays. Totally worth it. I tried the miso soup, spicy edamame, avocado roll & vegan maki roll. I like the bar set up, very warm lighting and intimate but ample room for seating. It wasn’t too busy around 5p but it was a Monday. Highly suggest coming here for a cute first date or very special occasion like birthday or anniversary. I would say it’s more for the adult grown and older crowd but if you want to bring your family, they will definitely take care of you.“

“Food was solid. It is a hub for multiple restaurants. Essentially a centralized kitchen and then pickup point for multiple chains/local chains. The lady on the other side of the number I called was extremely helpful and patient with what to do for a pickup order (it’s a “process” but simple and explained).

Simply put; my hungry, extremely picky, “you pick” but it’s never good enough - wife said to surprise her. Generally a losing affair. But ordered here because I wanted a poke bowl and knew sushi would at least prevent me from having to sleep on the couch. She gave the sushi a 3.5/5 and cleared it for future orders. “I go to Aka after my Ji-jutsu training at Rilion Gracie and it's the perfect combo! The atmosphere is amazing, the food even more so, and the service is top notch! This was only my second week going and they remembered me, asked how ji-jutsu was going and even answered all my questions about the menu with enthusiasm! Also since Aka means Red, as an Aries quad-fecta (4 stars in my star chart are in Aries ?♈) I just love the name, it's design and the shade of Red they chose! Highly recommend!
