“I have been here a few times. Ever time I have been here the food is constantly good. It can get busy and you can wait at peak hours like Sundays after church. Lucky I have been there early enough. I haven't had to deal with that. There have been times I have seen the line out the door so that should tell you something there. The sushi is fresh and they also have a large selection of food for everyone. They even have a section where you can pick raw meats and vegetables that they will cook for you on the spot like Mongolian BBQ style. The other plus instead of just having two types of ice cream for desert they have like twelve. It is the only Asian style buffet I go to now. Its differently worth my 35 minute drive to get a good meal. My family and I actually crave the food from this place it's a most try.“

“Let me start off by saying, I live in Spring and this is still my preferred location. Anytime my husband or I come to town I grab poke. Usually my husband picks it up, but this particular day I came by. What a treat! Simion helped me with my peculiar order, it was perfect. Enough sauce to cover everything and he listened to all my requests and put together such a beautiful bowl that when I finally sat to ate it I forgot to take a picture! But due to having such a unique order, Elise actually commented that she was used to seeing my husband. This made me feel very special that they take notice and remember us. Not to mention anytime I come in this place is always spotless!“

so good and fresh! We had the lunch special. The amount was generous and the food was fresh! The nigir was delicious and beautifully made. The miso soup was yum. The chefs roll was top tier. Alll included in our lunch special. We even got yummy dessert and it was so cute! This was such a yummy and nice family lunch. My husbands sidecar was A++ as well! Very creative take and refreshing.

the staff here are so kind! They are very welcoming and accommodating. As a a young family, it can be overwhelming to go out to eat with a baby but at Aburi they make you feel welcomed and think of everything!

Atmosphere: The restaurant is gorgeous. It is very aesthetic and modern. Very welcoming!

“I had dinner there tonight after several friends recommended it to me. My friends know I love sushi, and I took my son there to try it out. The presentation of the food was beautiful, our orders came out fast, considering what they were, and this was honestly some of the best sushi I have eaten. Our waiter was attentive, and very friendly. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful. As I was with my young son, I did not try the bar. I look forward to coming back. I’m trying different aspects of this place, and I was really impressed tonight. Try the Lobster Bomb Roll!“

“Was there for a weekday lunch with my aunt. We enjoyed every dish we tried. The tempura shrimp was battered and fried perfectly. The Philadelphia sushi roll was delicious. The beef broccoli lunch special was seasoned well, with good flavor. The steamed dumplings were superb. The service was quick and attentive. They also offer takeout. I will definitely return to try more dishes.“

I got the lobster and filet mignon roll and it was pretty pricey, and it was not good. The only good part that was good was the fried Lobster. The roll itself was not tasty at all. “Small mom and pop shop run only by Mr. and Mrs. Miyagi. Lines aren't long like they used to be on the weekdays. I was seated right away when they opened and no one else was here for a while. The food is just as good as I remember: fresh, delicious, and served with a smile. Also the portions are still as large as I remember. I only got 8 pieces of sashimi and was absolutely full afterwards.

“Kira is a certified hit! I did the 7 course chef's tasting and every course was delicious. The lobster hand roll was hands down my favorite, the shitake mushroom hand roll was my least favorite (it wasn't bad , it just wasn't as good as the other rolls). The dessert was also really delicious. I definitely reccomend checking Kira out if you like high end sushi.“

“Katami is Japanese for Keepsake. What a sentimental word, and what an emotion invoking meal that was. I believe this was the best sushi I’ve had to date in my life.

The flavors were so subtle but perfectly complemented their counterparts. I was blown away by the Hokkaido Buri Yellowtail and loved the Hamachi Yuzu. Not only was the food phenomenal, the service was tip top and the restaurant elegantly designed. Lighting was perfect. Sound was balanced. You’re in for a special treat when you go to Katami.“

“My boyfriend found this gem of a restaurant to celebrate my birthday. Immediately upon arrival, the entire staff welcomes you with a smile and a traditional Japanese greeting. Their attention to detail is immaculate. Their chef, Yoshi made us feel right at home, with a warm smile, and he shared with us so much of his knowledge from Japan. “Found this hidden gen off Shepherds just last Thursday, and today we are back for Mother’s Day lunch. Zen Japanese Izakaya has the best tasting rolls and freshest sashimi in Houston. The Japanese style decos are beautiful, service is excellent.
My husband loves the Otoro. They a little pricy, but so fresh and melt in the mouth.
I ordered sushi lunch special, Salmon & Salmon, Spicy Tuna. All are excellent.
We ordered two bento boxes for our 10 year old kids, they love it. So it’s great that we can bring the kids here even though they are not fun or sushi.
The food was beautifully presented too.

Only $15 but I got the spicy salmon roll (super good) & 5 pieces of nigiri: salmon, tuna, ebi, super white tuna (escolar), and snapper. This combo comes with a bowl of miso soup - the best & qualitied miso soup ever! “Love the environment and food here! The manager Joy came by to make sure everything is okay and it was! We all ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and it was lovely. Deep yet mild flavor, not too salty. Queen Spider roll which had filet mignon and soft shell crab. If you order a kids meal it's HUGE so be warned, you could possibly split this with your child. And we got a random free dessert which was a layered strawberry crepe cake which was AMAZING! Texture was soft and melted in my mouth. The sweetness was JUST RIGHT! Might be my new favorite dessert! 2nd time here and will definitely come back!“

Quality of the sushi was great but as others have mentioned, it is pricey (especially since the plates are usually single pieces). Spent $40 for around 7 plates and tip. Overall nice place to visit at least once to try it out, but there are plenty of other options for more bang for your buck.“
