I stopped by Baskin-Robbins, the classic 31 Flavors shop, craving a mint chip milkshake, and it completely delivered. The mint and chocolate chip milkshake was excellent from the first sip. The mint flavor came through clean and refreshing without tasting artificial or overly sweet, while the chocolate chips added the perfect bit of crunch and rich cocoa flavor in every sip. The shake itself was thick, creamy, and well-blended—exactly the consistency you want in a proper milkshake. It wasn’t watery or icy, and the balance between the cool mint and the chocolate pieces made it genuinely enjoyable rather than just another sweet treat. I finished the whole thing and still wanted more.

“We visited Naegelin's today while we were in New Braunfels. I used to live in NB (1959 to 1990) and grew up on their pastries. My brother was a baker their in 1960 and 1961, so there was always Naegelin's pastries to eat. Bear Claws were my absolute favorite. After 30 years, I couldn't wait! I ordered Bear Claws and 2 strudles, apple and cherry. I should have waited! The strudel was pretty good. the Bear Claws were very very disappointing. they lacked flavor and filling. The pastery used to be light and flakey. Not any longer, more like flat and tough. I hate to use the word "cardboard", but that kinda fits. Go for the Strudel, forget the Bear Claws. Childhood memories shattered again.“

“For our Anniversary in 2022, my wife and I decided we wanted to get a cake to celebrate. We both like old-fashioned butter-creme icing, and not that new light, marshmallow-ish stuff that bakeries put on cakes today. We wanted a layer-cake with thick butter-creme filling, as well as icing on the outside. Emily's Cakes came through for us. The cake we got was more than expected and was absolutely delicious! We're planning to order another one this year, if we haven't waited too late. We need it by Sunday of next week 7/14/24. Is that even possible?“
