“What an adorable place with the most delicious, authentic German food we’ve ever had in the US. I had a lovely dry Riesling wine, pork weiner schnitzel with German potato salad & sauerkraut. It was a large portion & absolutely amazing. Hubby had veal weiner schnitzel & red cabbage. The veal was so tender. We loved it all & will definitely return next time we’re in New Braunfels. Make a reservation ahead of time. It’s cozy & quite popular. We didn’t have a reservation & it took about an hour to get a table, but it was really worth it!“

Portions are very reasonable, not huge or small. Pancakes and sausage one day, bagels and lox the other.

“We had lunch today on the porch! LED off with Fried Oyster appetizer! Spicy Crunchy Trout with Broccoli and roasted potatoes and a really nice side salad. My wife had the Three Seafood Salad with Salmon and Shrimp. I know there was another seafood item but she can’t remember. But the waitress was so professional and in these days…she was so good! I wish we’d gotten the Fried Brie appetizer! A little hard to Locate back in behind the other shops but they were also fun! Very good bread as well!!!!“

“Visited The Oyster Bar for lunch on 12/13. Started off with the herb butter broiled oysters, Little Bear oysters from the premium section (which I believe rotates) and their Bloody Gonzo for the drink. The herb oysts were good but lacked that flavor wow factor I hope for with dining out. The description for the Little Bears was spot on and they were terrific. Also a great oyst for those who do not care for the brininess. As for the Gonzo, not a fan of heavily decorated bloody marys but, that's my age talkin and I get the visual goal behind it. With that said, didn't mind this one at all after starting to drink and eat the decor. Was one of the best marys I've had; great flavor along with the flavor of the decor which also complimented the drink (and much better than McAdoo's mary monstrosity). Now, on to the Moonlight Bay oysts. As a Gulf Coast country kid many seasons ago, we had two terms for brininess; normal and extra. Probably why the description for these oysts threw me off. Was expecting more brine but the level (personal taste opinion en route) was absolutely perfect! Didn't overpower but complimented and allowed all the other flavors (including a light touch of sweetness) to come through for beautiful oyst wonder! So much in fact, I ordered quite a few more. Alas, my thumb is getting tired so I'm going to speed this along. Ordered 3 or 4 more different drinks. Each one was terrific. Ordered the hot seafood dip which has a great flavor wow factor. The young lady who served me was perfect; great personality, not pushy, we both had to ask each other to repeat ourselves and both didn't mind, allowed me to enjoy all of the ocean and liquor goodness. Pass along my apologies for forgetting her name. The Oyster Bar is so close to perfect. Could get there if they'd lower the music volume and add oysters Rockefeller to the menu. By some small miracle you decide to do so, don't make a fake Rockefeller like Mcadoo's. Include the dry white wine. Makes all the difference. Now, I'm going to ice my thumb.“

“I was just swinging through town solo and stepped into the bar area to eat. I have been there a few times, and ALL the food is excellent. But usually when u sit in the bar area on a busy night (Friday) you are all but ignored. However, probably the best service I have ever had. Constant multiple waiters walking by asking for what you need, but not in that annoying way where you cant eat. Drinks were Johnny on the spot, everything out quickly. A most excellent establishment.“

“Water 2 Wine is my unofficial office, therapy lounge, social club, and sometimes a wine-fueled escape from the chaos of adulting. I’ve been going here for years, and if it ever closes, I will consider laying on the doorstep and crying.

The owners, Tre & Angel are the sweetest (sometimes sassy *cough cough* Tre *cough cough*) owners ever. They're extremely knowledgeable about wine and make this picky girls heart and tastebuds happy.

They have an incredible staff with Johnny (who's won best bartender in NB for like a lot of years, don't ask me how many, I can't keep up, might be convinced he's bribing the town with sass and charcuterie boards), Ameilee (the queen of arts and crafts and the designer behind their door of events each month), and Lexi (who makes it a point to remember anyone and everyone by name and their wine of choice; seriously the second time I ever met her she greeted me like besties and I live for that energy).

The atmosphere is laid back and welcoming which makes it a great spot for a girls outing, date night, or remote work that’s mostly just answering one email and then reward-sipping for your efforts. It will forever be this wino's fav spot to sip, yap, and pop a squat.

Even though she seemed to be running around everywhere at once, breathless, her timing was always impeccable with regard to our table. Wendy's visits to our table were never rushed nor pressured. She made sure our orders arrived in prime shape and our beverages consistently topped off. Our food was nothing short of amazing. The burgers we ordered were tender and juicy. They were neither bricks nor dripping down our arms. The country fried steaks we ordered filled the entire plate with a delectably fine Southern crunchiness (the breading) enjoying the succulent, flavorful steak. The portions were large and we were pleased to be provided with a takeout box to continue our stellar dining experience with subsequent meals. I gently reheated my country fried steak in a dry cast-iron skillet for several minutes for breakfast Sunday morning accompanied with some eggs and hash browns. Our expectations were met. I was a little worried at first because there were a lof of bikers there, and well, you've seen those movies, but the lady at the bar immediately put me at ease. She was so friendly and welcoming! Do NOT eat here if you’re in New Braunsfel! If you’re just looking for some drinks and music, this place has a descent atmosphere but otherwise stay away. It’s very pricey!“

“This place is the real deal. A hidden gem for sure. Traveling back home from a hunting trip my family and I made a quick stop here to enjoy some puffy tacos and really grateful we chose this spot. The charro beans were perfect and the rice was sensational. Everything had a true tejano flavor that brought back child memories of what you remember good food tasted like. Very hard to find these days. The service was extremely friendly. Wish I lived closer but we definitely will make this our new pit stop back and forth from now on.“

“Always worth a stop at Rudy's. Some of the best brisket you will ever have. I love the coleslaw as well. This place is pretty popular but the line is never super crazy. “My fiancé and I recently visited the Winery on the Gruene and absolutely loved it! It is a really nice spot in the heart of Gruene and its great location makes it easy for relaxing with a glass of wine after walking around town. The staff is friendly and helpful with tastings, and the flights are a good deal with both classic and fun fruit flavors. I ended up getting a bottle of their Watermelon White Merlot after trying it, and it was surprisingly refreshing and easy to drink. The patio is the best place to sit in my opinion but maybe not in the Texas heat, just depends on the time you go. The only downside is it can get busy, so service slows a bit, and the inside feels a little tight on hot days. Nonetheless it was a great spot and we’ll be back.“

Today I had the Bacon Cheeseburger with Tater Tots and it was very good! The Burger was delicious, Tater Tots had some seasoning on them that made them extra flavorful, and the Sweet Tea is always Awesome there. Will definitely be back!!“

“Was so hopeful, but the pizza was disappointing. My carry out oder of "The Big One" was a disaster. I wish I could have attached a photo. The pizza did not look anything like the photo. Crust was flat and without rise. No red onions present, kalamata olives were replaced with canned black olives, and is that fresh basil on the pizza in the photo? Unfortunate and very regretable.“
