“We went to this restaurant 2 weeks ago at the beginning of a family vacation and were blown away by the food quality, service, and atmosphere. Our server qas wonderful with our kids and we had a great time. Fast forward 2 days and I realized I was missing my credit card. I called the restaurant and they graciously OVERNIGHT Fed Ex'd my credit card to our next hotel with a handwritten note to the hotel about the situation. 10 out of 10 food AND customer service. If we ever make it back to New Braunfels we will return to this restaurant for sure!“

“What an adorable place with the most delicious, authentic German food we’ve ever had in the US. I had a lovely dry Riesling wine, pork weiner schnitzel with German potato salad & sauerkraut. It was a large portion & absolutely amazing. Hubby had veal weiner schnitzel & red cabbage. The veal was so tender. We loved it all & will definitely return next time we’re in New Braunfels. Make a reservation ahead of time. It’s cozy & quite popular. We didn’t have a reservation & it took about an hour to get a table, but it was really worth it!“

“I ordered the meatloaf meal with macaroni and okra. It was supurb! My daughter ordered chicken and dumplings . She said it reminded her of her grandmother’s dumplings. My other daughter order turkey and dressing. She. loved it! My little grandsons were happy with their chicken and waffles. The coffee has smooth flavor. I enjoyed my tea with the mint leaf.Oh the pancakes were fluffy and delicious! The gentleman who sat us at our table was very helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend this place to eat delicious food.“

“Interesting, varied menu and very tasty food (I particularly recommend the chicken tortilla soup). Our server was very friendly and was very careful to note down our daughter's multiple food allergies and work with the kitchen to advise us on what she could have, which was fantastic.

One niggle is that it would be great if there were more dairy-free options on the menu - one of my daughter's allergies is to milk and she felt that her choices were very limited.“

“Amazing pizza, tried both the New York and Detroit style. Both styles were delicious and cooked to perfection. Also tried a order of the fresh cut fries, delicious!!
We ordered take out this time so we didn't get to enjoy the live music, definitely plan on going back when we can stay awhile.“

“Onion Rings they were bad today. I told the waitress can you go ask the chef why the batter has fallen off all these rings. She just laughed, she came back again I asked did you ask the chef, she said she can’t talk to him. I said why does he not speak English? She said know they are busy. I said he needs to know the are just oily onions. Never even said anything not even to her manager. Like it was something strange. After a $70 bill for two people no bar tab. It all should be good or at least I’m very disappointed. I did mention it to two other wait staff one male one female he said well probably just a bad day. I told I’m not mad but this is 3-5 on Saturday and I bet it’s gonna get busier, I just like somebody to report it to the chef or who is in charge to Se if something can be done about it or see what’s going if on. For the sake of other customers.“

“I got the Cesar salad with fried oysters and my husband got the fried catfish both were amazing! The oysters were HUGE and the catfish was light and crispy coming from Mississippi were also skeptical about our catfish they really hit it on the nose. I normally take pictures but we were STARVING it was gone. The atmosphere is so friendly everyone was amazing. 10/10 would come back again!“

“Impressive would be an understatement to describe dinner last night at Huisache Grill in New Braunfels, TX. A family owned spot for 30 years in an old cabinet shop that is rustically decorated but comfortable. My daughter and I were seated and our server Melissa set us up with drinks while we looked over an interesting menu. It was difficult to decide BUT this place also offers some of the meat options as an add-on to their other plates. So if you want a chicken dish but crave some duck too…you can add duck as a side! I ordered the Huisache Chicken Tortilla soup and Mixed Grill while my daughter ordered from the Mix & Match Combo. Both entrees came with a side salad too. The Chicken Tortilla soup is something you would be remiss…the absolute best version of this soup I’ve ever had! The Mixed Grill had 2x beef medallions, blackened quail, skewered spicy shrimp, and poblano bacon wrapped chicken. I LOVED it all! The creamy horseradish sauce and Dijon/Merlot sauce a wonderful compliment for dipping and the sides of herbed baby potatoes and sautéed vegetable medley nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly. The Mix & Match consisted of beef medallions and the Char-broil grilled duck breast along with green beans and herbed potatoes. Again, everything delicious and the duck was very good and the char didn’t overcook the duck. We tried their GF Apple Crisp…for purists of this dish it is a dramatic flip…but in a good way of this dish. One note…only wine and beer, no cocktails available. This place has excellent service and Melissa was a pleasure to work with, while the soft music and atmosphere is so relaxing.“

“I was just swinging through town solo and stepped into the bar area to eat. I have been there a few times, and ALL the food is excellent. But usually when u sit in the bar area on a busy night (Friday) you are all but ignored. However, probably the best service I have ever had. Constant multiple waiters walking by asking for what you need, but not in that annoying way where you cant eat. Drinks were Johnny on the spot, everything out quickly. A most excellent establishment.“

Even when they are in their crazy lunch hour rush, the employees are all friendly and have my lunch ready and waiting on time! Do NOT eat here if you’re in New Braunsfel! If you’re just looking for some drinks and music, this place has a descent atmosphere but otherwise stay away. It’s very pricey!“

I was a little worried at first because there were a lof of bikers there, and well, you've seen those movies, but the lady at the bar immediately put me at ease. She was so friendly and welcoming! We had no problems at all. The burgers we got were great! This is a fun local place that you should definitely check out. We'll be back for sure.“

“OMG 😱, first time eating here, I was so blown away by the amount of food. That food was meant for giants. When I tell you my stomach was satisfied by only eating the fried mushrooms which were only appetizers not the main course you wouldn't believe it. “Was so hopeful, but the pizza was disappointing. My carry out oder of "The Big One" was a disaster. I wish I could have attached a photo. The pizza did not look anything like the photo. Crust was flat and without rise. No red onions present, kalamata olives were replaced with canned black olives, and is that fresh basil on the pizza in the photo? Unfortunate and very regretable.“
