“We happened upon the cute pie shop while perusing Roanoke one day. Roanoke is usually challenging when it comes to parking but we went pretty early on a weekday so we luckily beat the lunch rush. The shop is right near Babe's. The shop is quaint and they have the pies on display and have a wonderful selection. It's not really a place to sit and enjoy the pie... more of a grab and go. But it is clean and smelled wonderful. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and the server was gracious enough to give us a run down of what they had available. We got a mini lemon pie, pecan pie and slice of Mexican chocolate. All of them were absolutely delicious. My favorite was the pecan pie. Had the perfect balance and flavor. His was the Mexican chocolate which was sweet with just the right amount of spice. We will definitely come back.“
“This place has that old Victorian coffee bakery shop vibes. Walking in and getting that auto feel of needing coffee and a pastry. Ordered a double espresso with a cream cheese brownie at 3:45 in the afternoon. While waiting, I was surrounded by the atmosphere of wonders. Especially a neat design of coffee mugs on the wall. The only wish I had if they had a mini mug for the espresso. But the pricing for everything is perfect.“

Bought half a dozen, 3 Smores and 3 Oatmeal Explosions. The cookies were AMAZING and tasted SO delicious. Literal 10/10 cookies. “Passed by leaving an appointment for my daughter birthday party venue and stop to check them out and ordered my daughter birthday cake. Picked it up on the day of pick up for the party and EVERYONE LOVED it! The compliments were outstanding. They gained quite a few potential customers. I tried the cake myself and it was Delicious, not to sweet melt in your mouth I loved it my husband had me to order a six inch for him lol.“

And there were plenty of cake pieces for all of our guests (We had about 80 guests in total)***We booked through Walters and Jenny Layne Bakery was the provided cake vendor. The planning experience with the bakery is decent, as now the actual wedding planning rep/manager will be the person to discuss the cake design, clients will no longer work directly with the bakery.There were 4 choices for the wedding cake/desserts: 4 - Tiered Wedding Cake; Traditional Duo; Modern Trio; Petite Cake & Desserts. We went with the very classic and quintessential smooth 4-tier cake, and the two flavors we chose were "The Most Popular" and "Chocolate Espresso (I believe now they changed it to Classic Chocolate)".We had the opportunities to go to several tastings in 2023 and we tried almost all the flavors and the various desserts the bakery offers. We were having some concerns as the cake flavors, although were good, the texture was hit or miss. In addition, the other desserts we tried were all alright, nothing spectacular. Due to those reason we were concern how the wedding cake would turn out and rightfully so!Amazingly, the cake for our wedding not only tasted AMAZING, but also looked so classy and elegant. In addition, there were PLENTY of cake SLICES for our guests (Each guest could easily have both flavors and some more! I personally attended weddings before where the cake was not even a bite!)I would give the bakery a high rating and say they have done an amazing job for our wedding! I did not get to see the bakery staff assemble the cascade floral, but it turned out looking stunning! Huge props to both The Jenny Layne Bakery and The Design Haus for our wedding cake!“
“This is a great place to come and get a quick breakfast on the go. The donuts are fresh and taste great. The kolaches are just right and delicious. Nice to have a donut place nearby for our sugary breakfast go to place every now and then. We have been here several times. Not certain if name has changed recently.“
“I was looking for dessert shops in the area and found this pie shop. This shop was a little difficult to find even though I had read some other reviews indicating that it was behind the bank. Anyways, I found out that the bakery was pretty small and the employees were quite helpful and patient when I selected my pie. I found that the pies there rotate on a seasonal basis. I grabbed a slice of Blueberry Streusel Pie.I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this was quite good. It was packaged appropriately and I was given another bag to hold the container in. I’m definitely a fan and plan to revisit to try additional pies! This place is such a gem, and I recommend you visit them!“
