Later in the day I grabbed the Baja Turkey on jalapeno cheddar bread. The sandwich was fantastic and would 100% order again! The late lunch service was excellent as McKenna and Marissa at the front served with excellence and a smile on their face.

👉 Fix: slice that hot dog in half so it actually fills the roll + add a sauce or seasoning to give it personality.

“I have driven to the Hulen St. Unrefined location for 4 years to order my nephews’s special corn and gluten free vanilla cake with strawberry frosting for his birthday. My sister told me Cookies, Crust and Crumb bakery was now owned by Unrefined and it was in Hurst and much closer for me. Ordering was a breeze and the cake was the best one we’ve had. They said they quoted me a much lower price than normal and would honor that price. I wear hearing aids so didn’t hear the price quoted and told her I was prepared to pay the correct price and she insisted I should only pay what she quoted. I was very pleased with the service and the cake got rave reviews from all who ate it even our server at our restaurant celebration raved about the cake. We should have picked up cards from the bakery to hand out! Great experience all around. Highly recommend.“

We are huge fans of the red velvet and chocolate chocolate chip which pair beautifully with their cream cheese frosting and are always so moist and wonderful. However, the customer service is what really sets this location apart. I was greeted warmly by smiling faces who were eager to help and watched several customers get in and out super quick while I was there. I had a special request and the owners were happy to try to make it happen and the results were better than I could have hoped. “Just visited this place this morning. Let me tell you, I understand why this donut shop has a 5 star rating! This is the first donut shop that has served me a REAL apple fritter that's not just fritter but has plenty of apple in it. The fritters are also HUGE. They are pancake size. “Northlake now has 2 outstanding donut shops within 5 minutes of each other. Love both of them but Wow has slightly better Applefriters and glazed donuts but the other one has better sausage rolls. Will gladly continue to patronize both of them. Suggest you do the same.“

“The staff at Great American Cookies (1400 Shoal Creek #110) delivered delicious cookies and turned a lost bet into pure comedy gold! My brother Mitch sashayed in, looking like a Cookie Fairy. A bearded man decked out in a frilly pink tutu, a flamboyant feather boa, and tights! They had him prancing across the street like a giddy flamingo, twirling with exaggerated flair, striking absurd poses, and even curtseying with a flourish!

Mitch threw himself into the silliness, pointing his toes with dainty precision and strutting with a sway that left us all wondering if he was secretly loving his bearded ballerina gig a little too much—way too comfortable in that embarrassing getup! The staff roared with laughter over his spot-on toe point, eagerly asking if he’d return again, and posting those hilarious pics online to flaunt their fun-loving store spirit.

And let’s not forget the actual cookies, because they’re the reason we’d come back again. These treats are next-level: soft, gooey, and baked fresh on the spot. Everything was packaged beautifully, stayed fresh for the delivery Mitch had to make (still in that tutu, bless him), and tasted like heaven. Prices are great, and the store’s spotless, with the staff’s infectious humor keeping the vibe pure sugary fun. Five stars for the amazing treats and for helping with our pink princess!

The items were arranged neatly and labeled. Someone told me about the donut shop so I thought I'd give it a shot. I'm satisfied with that decision. It's a nice shop and the donuts taste much better than the commercial donut shops like Shipley..yuck!, and Dunkin...boring taste, and Krispy Kreme...way too sweet.“
