“Today was a nice day and I decided to go to Mikkis for my Seniors dinner. When I arrived a staff member opened the door for me. Then the lines was not jammed. My order was placed and the staff were prompt in responding. The turkey wings are fall off the bone good. The gravy is just the right consistency. The mashed potatoes are so creamy and delicious. The cabbage is fresh and sweet as candy. The yams, my goodness, can anyone do yams like this restaurant. Absolutely not. The cornbread is such a good texture, it is almost like cake. The staff has changed to a more friendly and polite team. Always enjoy my visits here.“

“I love buying my dinners from Farmers. I used to buy dinners twice a week and cook the rest of the week but now I have to slack off a bit because they started putting some type of Louisiana spice or whatever type of spice in the food. Not everybody eats food with that type of spice so I guess they're catering to only one type of taste bud. Also, the cook has started over-salting everything, trying to kill us folk with high blood pressure. I'm trying to hang in there but I might have to totally quit because they're even putting Spice in the corn and I love corn and I can't eat that type of spice in my corn 🌽.“

“The food was some of THE BEST soul food I’ve ever eaten! I had the oxtails with the rice, Mac and cheese with a side of cornbread. The food was so flavorful, the portion amount was generous and the price was very reasonable!!This food was so good I didn’t need to add any additional seasoning or sauce to it! Not only was the food good, the staff talked to us and had us laughing from the time we walked in the door until the time we walked out. Whenever I come back to Houston, I will definitely be stopping back in!“

“Something you would never expect from inside a gas station...my plan is try everything on the menu...this is my 3rd time and so far have not been disappointed...if you get a chance check it out...the chicken so far is my favorite...but on "soul food Sunday's" the oxtail is the best...“
