Virginia's On the Bay Reviews
Came here for great food and great atmosphere and left with disappointment and upset stomachs. Save your money and do not come here. We were told the wait was 15 minutes for our party of 12. We were shocked and excited to be able to have a short wait time for a large group. 15 minutes turned into an hour and everyone getting sat before us without having their name on the list. After waiting, we waited another 10 minutes for our not so friendly or happy waitress to come get our...read full review
13DEC2025: Why did you weave the yellow caution tape all over the outdoor seating/viewing area? The move telegraphed your lack of care and empathy for the many locals and visitors that look forward to viewing the annual lighted boat parade...
We waited almost two hours on a Sunday evening, and the hostess was obviously just ready for closing time. The food was over-priced and mediocre at best. The grilled sampler was completely flavorless and dry. The vegetables and rolls were from the freezer section at the grocery store, and the beer was not even cold. The waitress was fine, and the crap dip was good - those are the only positives. Definitely would not recommend.

Virginia's On the Bay is a restaurant that offers a nice location and atmosphere, featuring stunning waterfront views ideal for a relaxed meal. The staff is fast and friendly, contributing to a welcoming experience. While the food quality has had some ups and downs in the past, certain dishes have received praise. The Yellowfin Tuna from the appetizers menu is highly recommended, and the crab dip appetizer with homemade tortilla chips is delightful. The grilled shrimp is very good, showcasing a simple dish that is hard to mess up, while the garlic fish has been noted for its incredible flavor. The coconut shrimp is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, adding a tropical twist that enhances the seaside setting.
Virginia's also has ample parking, making it a convenient choice for visitors. However, there have been complaints about long wait times and limited restroom facilities, which can create an uncomfortable experience for some guests. The cleanliness of the restrooms has been particularly criticized. Despite this, the overall dining experience is improving, and the restaurant is gaining popularity with diners. The Ooey Gooey Luie dessert has impressed guests, making it a must-try, although some diners have opted to skip dessert after their meals.
