“Crazy Cajun in Port Aransas: A Spice-Infused FeastIf you're looking for a taste of Louisiana magic on the Texas coast, then The Crazy Cajun in Port Aransas is a must-try. This laid-back joint lives up to its name with a menu that's all about bold flavors and fresh seafood. The staff at The Crazy Cajun were fantastic. Friendly and attentive, they made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Even though the place was buzzing, we were seated quickly and our food arrived in no time. The star of the show, of course, is the Crazy Cajun boil. This overflowing platter is a combination of plump shrimp, succulent crab legs, smoky sausage, sweet corn on the cob, and tender new potatoes. Everything is perfectly cooked, seasoned with their secret Cajun spice blend that packs a flavorful punch. But the real win is the crawfish! Being in season, they were included in the boil, adding a delightful sweetness to the mix.Pro tip: Don't skip out on the side dishes! The velvety dirty rice, rich gumbo, and hearty red beans and rice are the perfect complements to the seafood boil. Each bite was an explosion of flavor, and left us wanting more.Overall, The Crazy Cajun is a Port Aransas gem. Great food, friendly service, and a lively atmosphere make it a perfect spot for a casual and delicious meal. Just be prepared to lick your fingers clean!“
“FINS provided a great ambiance for our nice family dinner. Service was great, and we began the evening with an excellent appetizer of cheese bites. It was not too long of a wait for the food and we had a great time! I will say that some meals were a bit pricy and the serving was kind of big, but it was otherwise a wonderful experience! The shrimp tacos were very good, as were the onion rings. This is a great place to have a nice dinner after a long day at the beach.“
“The salsa and chips were very good. I had the Ceaser salad with grilled shrimp - it was excellent. We had the combo fajitas which we both really enjoyed. The one issue I did not appreciate is that they only accepted cash - most people prefer using a credit card. The owner should just raise prices by 3% to cover the card fees.“
“I stayed at Tarpon Inn for 2 nights this spring during SandFest, and I was traveling solo. I really loved the property and my room. So many beautiful historic details remain, but my room had just the right amount of modern touches. If you're looking for a completely modern room layout, this might not be what you're looking for, but I loved it. My favorite part of the property was the porch and courtyard area out back. I sat out there with a magazine both nights, it was so delightful and relaxing. There was live music as well, I also loved that. Parking was easy, there are spaces on either side of the hotel. Plenty of restaurants in easy walking distance. Ferry is a short drive away.“
“Food and service was great. It was not even a long wait like I expected with it being Spring break. My kids didnt care for the brisket just because it was very fatty but everything else was very good. I would recommend the fish and shrimp. Even the fried shrimp was tasty. Will definitely be back.“
“The pastries are so good! I got a raspberry turnover and it was flakey, sweet and delicious. Others in my party got cupcakes and cinnamon rolls. They heated the cinnamon rolls up for us and they were delicious too. Some tables inside. Staff was great.“
“Wonderful, service-hearted staff from the hotel to the restaurant. Jen at the front desk gave us a tour without hesitation so we could see more of the rooms. Really recommend the FDR suite for 2+ day stays. Great food! Beautiful rooms, and in great shape for the building’s age and for being in a beach town. You can tell the management and staff really care about the maintenance of everything.Food & drinks: Roosevelt’s was so good, and the photos on Google don’t do it justice. Wish I’d remembered to take photos, but it’s more of a cozy, rustic fine dining restaurant than as casual as it appeared to us on the photos. But the bar, 1886 next door, offers a limited version of Roosevelt’s menu, a more casual atmosphere and great drinks.“
“We joined the wait list before leaving Gulf Waters RV resort and arrived within 10 minutes of our appointed time. WE STILL WAITED 40 MINUTES ON SITE. And with 2 young children who are hungry this can be stressful for all. They were full but I noticed that they were not very efficient at turning tables over. It relied upon the hostess and she was not efficient. Our server was just fine no issues there but I'm lumping in the hostess into service category. We were a party of 4 so nothing crazy, with 2 kiddos one of which only required a high chair so we could have easily fit at a 3 top.The food was great and it came out quick as we placed our entire order immediately upon being seated. They just need to do much better on turning tables over.“
“Food was good, service good. Only downside was the shrimp on my plate were not grilled they were still light pink and no flavor. Rest of the plate was good. Other downside was the bathrooms. Needed cleaning one seat had pee on it, and other didn't want to flush. They both looked like they wouldn't flush well by how the handles were sitting.“
“Creating a personal connection with customers along with a memorable experience goes a long way & Will did this for us. Will recommend some items off the menu & shared with us some of his favorite. Thanks Will for a great experience!“
“I had Chicken Fried Steak with garlic mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. It was great. My wife had blackened jumbo shrimp. They weren't really jumbo. But it's still very good. Also, the Margarita Madness Key Lime Margarita. It was very good.“
“Dining at Roosevelt's in Port Aransas was an experience that far exceeded our expectations, marking a memorable evening for my family and me. From the moment we were greeted by our waiter, Tommy, whose service was nothing short of exceptional, we knew we were in for a treat. The calamari, a dish we often enjoy, was so delightful that we couldn't resist ordering a second serving. It was cooked to perfection, offering a balance of textures and flavors that left us craving more. The attention to detail in every dish was evident, with each bite transporting us to a culinary paradise. My daughter was enamored with the ice cream, which, in her words, was the perfect ending to her meal. Meanwhile, my wife's seafood medley pasta dish was a masterpiece of tastes and aromas, seamlessly blending the freshness of the ocean with the warmth of home-cooked pasta. It was, as she described, "off the charts."As for my filet mignon, it was flawlessly prepared, melting in my mouth with each savory bite. The quality of the meat and the skillful preparation made it clear why Roosevelt's has earned its reputation. In summary, our dinner at Roosevelt's was an unforgettable experience, thanks to the exquisite food, outstanding service from Tommy, and the warm, inviting atmosphere. It's a gem in Port Aransas that we can't wait to return to. Whether you're a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and visit Roosevelt's. You won't be disappointed.“
“Not sure why this shows us as a sushi restaurant as there was no sushi on the menu. I would place it more online with being a seafood restaurant.Good food but almost felt overpriced for what it was. We were a group of six so we ordered three entrees and some appetizers and shared which worked well.“
“Kind of simple menu. Lots of fried choices and they were amazing; fish, crab cakes, oysters and shrimp. Not heavily battered to cover the freshness of the seafood..the only real side was French fries, and thought they were good, I wanted a veggie.“
“This place had AMAZING food! Elevated flavors with that classic fresh seafood that you may be craving. I highly recommend the mermaid soup, exquisite! For dinner, we had scallops and the seafood enchiladas ...it was all amazing. So very good! My scallops were the biggest I've ever seen, and they melted in my mouth! I'll be remember this meal for a long time! ??“
“We love this place. Everytime we come to Port Aransas, we have to get the crab dip. Tonight we had dinner at the bar. Had clam chowder ( gotta have tabasco), a salad, and the fried fish (cod) and fries. A great atmosphere and just not the tourist element. On the bay with all the boats. Great family place. Enjoy!!!“
“Nikki, Sheila, Melissa, Cass, Malexis, Felicia all sisters I think 2 are twins. Let me tell you they all do such a wonderful job. I can't praise them enough. They work hard and all look alike. I can't wait to come back again just for them and food .. and oh yeah the food was so awesome. Way better then anything I've ever ate in a long time. I ate lunch and breakfast in the same day. 10 stars!“
“Everytime I stop by Port A, I have to stop by Port Aransas Poke. They have super cute paintings on the wall, and a little walk area outside to relax. Their food is so yummy and ALWAYS made fresh! (Takes about 15 minutes for crunchy sushi- That's beside the point.) YUMMO! Thank you Port A Poke!“
“Got there at 545 waited 15 min before I went to the bartender and said nobody came over and offered drinks or said I be right with you and was told there was a mix up with station ..overall we were there over an hour by the time we left ..food was great ..we were there 3 years ago and it was excellent..hope the girl will be more faster ..the other guy with tattoos was fast and he was hustling ..thank you“
“Cannot speak highly enough about the refresh of the Black Marlin. We took the family for dinner one night and then brunch on Sunday. The food and service were absolutely fantastic. We had everything from the pasta Diablo to the ribeye for dinner and it was the best food I have had on the island. For brunch we had the eggs Benedict, steak and eggs, American breakfast and beignets. If you are port A you have to try this place!“
“Our family enjoyed a fantastic meal at Trout this week. We had 11 and were seated quickly and our server Julie was amazing. She took care of everyone’s order perfectly and offered up suggestions when asked. Great experience - definitely recommend!“
“Very tasty! My husband and I both got crawfish po-boys and we shared the crab stuffed fried avocado -- that's avocado is a MUST, it was divine. I could've eaten it as my whole meal!Great affordable cocktails and beer as well. Will definitely keep this one in the books for late night munchies since nothing else on the island is open past 9.“
“Just got into Port A last night and was driving down the road looking for a place to get dinner. We saw a full parking lot and took that as a good sign. We didn't have a reservation but we're able to get a table anyway. Emily F. was our server. She was great! Personable, knowledgeable and attentive. She literally ran us down in the parking lot after we left because my husband forgot his credit card at the table. We both got the Pasta Acadiana. Mine with shrimp and my husband's with chicken. They were both tasty and plentiful. We took home our leftovers and had them for lunch today and it was still excellent!Thank you Emily for providing excellent service. I'm sure that we will dine there again before we leave the island.“
