Had chicken tenders, the largest I have ever seen, Angus beef hamburgers with the greatest flavor and wonderful Mahi Mahi Fish and fries. The side salad was excellent! Not just lettuce. “I have been coming to Grumbles since it opened. I’m down here a lot checking on my property… just me and my quiet little dog. Grumbles has the kindest, most courteous staff EVER! The food is fantastic… I love all of the seafood, and the fried green tomatoes are amazing. I can sit with my dog anywhere, quietly and no one bats an eye unless to ask if either of us needs anything. The vibe is fantastic, not to mention the friendly bartenders when my lady friends come down for some R&R and good cocktails. Love love love Grumbles!“

The front office staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the Inn and the town, gave us great recommendations and went the extra mile for us as far as accommodations. The rooms were a step into the past, that non of us had ever lived in. We enjoyed and appreciated all the period pieces of furniture and the quaint rooms. Whether it's quick adult get a way or a family fun event you won't be disappointed. If you've got the time, make plans to stay here. I could go and on.. “As someone who loves to cook, I’m usually a quiet food critic. Everything our party of 7 ordered was incredible. Seafood tasted very fresh. Seasoning and sauces were perfection. Had the crab cakes, baked oysters, mermaid soup, scallops, grilled shrimp, and the red snapper.“

“They alright. You get exactly what you pay for so if you’re looking for a 5 star resort, this is not for you. They provide clean, basic amenities with an ideal location and staff that has been there a very long time, so also don’t go there and be a turd to them because it’s not the Ritz. The food is standard Sysco fare that’s mostly consistent and good. They’re pet friendly as well, which is really nice. The best thing about beach lodge is THE BEACH! It’s right there. You can go to this location and really never need to leave because it has most amenities. Be sure to bring extra pillows and blanket if you get cold easily.“

From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between coastal charm and an upscale dining experience, and the menu offers something for everyone without feeling overwhelming. What truly separates this place is the quality of the seafood. Knowing the fish is caught locally and often goes from the boat to the kitchen the very next day and then to your table..is something you can genuinely taste. Every bite was incredibly fresh and cooked perfectly. Great food is one thing, but pairing it with outstanding service, an inviting ambiance, and an obvious passion for quality makes for an unforgettable meal. Trout Street Bar & Grill is hands down the best seafood restaurant we’ve experienced on the Texas coast.
