They were able to accommodate a last-minute reservation for around 35 people, and when we arrived the area was already cleared and prepared for us with staff on standby ready to assist. The food was absolutely amazing, and the customer service was top-notch—patient, courteous, and so attentive. I am beyond grateful for the wonderful service and experience we had celebrating such a special day. Thank you all for doing such an amazing job! Highly recommend!“

“I absolutely hate this restaurant but my family drags me there all the time. Went there last night against my will and finally had a server that was top notch. Thank you Drew! He knew what a steak cooked blue was and we had to almost ask for nothing. First server ever to walk by and remove dishes we weren’t using to keep the table neat. He acted like a manager not just a waiter. He definitely had prior server experience at a good restaurant. Make him a head server (with more pay) to train others. Seriously, Applebee’s needs him. “We stayed at the Doubletree from the 6th thru the 11th of Sept. Tim, Samantha, Chris the Cook were the most wonderful staff. They went above & beyond to make our visit top notch. We also had the pleasure to meet Jackie & Michael. They ALL WERE GREAT. They made sure we had everything we needed. The food was so good, we ate there for every meal except twice. “My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at Railroad Seafood and Brewery in Corpus Christi last Saturday. I had grilled shrimp and the fish and shrimp platter. The drum was so good. Karen was our waitress and was very kind and efficient. We will ask for her whenever we eat here.“

Here today; gone TAMALE! Best tamales in town (so far). These sell out fast prior to holidays, especially Christmas. Regular pork are our favorites. Spicy are too hot. Just the perfect balance of masa & meat filling. Only tamales sold here (not a restaurant) & priced right. Sold by the dozen for pick up only.“

Moving back to CCTX has been fun as I get to check out all the new (to me) venues. This venue, BAR (stands for Bar Under the Sun) is located in downtown Corpus Christi and was fun to check out. It happened to be a Sunday Funday type of day - hung out on the outside cocktail garden area which is pet friendly while listening to a local musician who is a lead singer of a band here. This upbeat establishment use to be the Greyhound Bus Station back in the day. The decor was chic & classy and loved the offered yard games. The signature cocktails were divine. The bartenders were so impressive. Parking was easy breezy. The atmosphere was sexy & attractive. There is a great food (kitchen) option but was so hungry that I failed to capture photos of Achiote Grilled Chicken Sandwich & Pimento Cheese Firecrackers; maybe next time. I would definitely go back here for a future happy hour, etc.“

“Fantastic experience at Fajitaville recently after we had a day trip to the aquarium. The service was awesome and we even had the owner or manager come up to our table to ensure we were satisfied. The kids got to play in the sand right in front of our table looking out at the beach. The server checked on us frequently for drink refills. The downstairs bathroom was a little messy with the trash can overflowing from what looked like customer trash like tags off of recently purchased clothing etc. besides that everywhere else in the restaurant was clean. The table next to us left half way through us being there and they bussed the table quickly to keep the seagulls away. We will definitely be back soon! If you haven’t been recently give them a try! It was a great experience with new ownership!!“

“Fantastic Angus Burger - and well priced too. The Fries were PERFECT; hot, thick and spiced just right. I can’t believe this place wasn’t packed; it’s right on the Gulf in the Holiday Inn. Lupita was an excellent server too! I’ll be back!!“

“Had breakfast buffet the morning we checked out.

The menu was limited because their kitchen was closed due to a maintenance issue - they were replacing the stove top but the crew hadn’t come in on time to do the work, so we had to settle for the buffet.

Omelette and waffle station were awesome. Fantastic food and friendly service!

The buffet itself left a lot to be desired - felt kind of like a slightly more upscale Hyatt place, embassy suites, or Hampton inn breakfast. Really enjoyed the fresh fruit though.

“I did an order of 2 stack pancakes by phone at 743am. I was told my order would be ready in 5 minutes. I didn’t walk out until 810am. My order was taken by Marcus. I paid with cash and he had to go to the back area for my change. That took another 10 minutes. He said he didn’t have “silver” or loose coins so the change was bills which was fine. I did NOT leave a tip as I’m sure he was expecting. I placed the order while in the IHOP parking lot and put makeup on to allow ample time to prepare my to go. I went in at 755am. Im a FAN of IHOP but lately the service has not been very good. And there are not a lot of people in the restaurant. I normally wouldn’t complain but this was just a pancake order which took almost 30 minutes.
