“If you are ever traveling down I-45 between Ennis and Corsicana and are hungry stop at Rice Cafe - Rice, Texas. It was recommended by a friend and we had lunch there today. You are greeted with a friendly smile and find your spot in this small cafe that will seat maybe 45 people. Looked like lots of locals eat there and they know your order. They give you a tasty cup of soup to start. We ordered and devoured the best fried, home made hot onion rings. Curt enjoyed his chicken fried chicken (the coating stayed on) mashed potatoes, gravy and corn. I enjoyed my chopped steak, onion gravy, green beans and awesome fried okra. Everything was fresh and hot! Very reasonable prices. I hear the pancakes are the best my friend has ever had. They are family owned and have been in business since 2018. So glad we stopped. And we have a small portion of each meal to have for dinner tonight.“

“We’ve always had wonderful food & service here, but recently we had the absolute pleasure of having Lisa as our server. Not only was she outstanding, she was so very kind as to ask permission to hold our fussy baby so that we could finish our meals! We were so grateful and we will definitely be back to visit, especially since our baby boy now has a new friend! ❤️“

“I had great service from Becky and my food was perfect… it arrived quickly, and just like I requested. My food was delivered with a smile, and it was hot, fresh, and nicely presented. Becky even remembered the small milk I requested be brought with my meal (I usually have to remind the waitstaff to bring my milk). 5 out of 5 stars from me!“

“I stopped here while I was traveling to Houston with my 6 month old. Trips with babies can be hard! He was hungry- so was I!
We were greeted at the door and welcomed warmly my our hostess Robin. She gave us the best table (it had plenty of room) and brought us a clean high chair. She made sure we were comfortable. She was kind enough even to watch my baby so that I could use the restroom. I was astounded at the kindness.
Tammy was our server and she was so personable!! Every water and soda was refilled without me even asking and she even brought me extra spicy dressing for my Santa Fe salad. She listens and was so easy to talk with. I felt like I was talking to a friend.
10/10 to this Chilis experience. Although stopping here was a coincidence necessitated by a screeching child, they made me mark it as my consistent stopping point when I travel. Incredible experience.“
