“Goodness gracious what a great surprise this was. The green beans are OUT OF THIS WORLD DELICIOUS. Whole experience was a 10/10 and wish I lived here so I could come back for a quart of those green beans every week lol

The grilled crab cake had a good flavor but not hot (temperature wise) enough for my liking. I would try the fried instead if that’s your thing. The potato bowl with etouffe with fried shrimp was so good and seasoned.

“This place was great! Rarely do you take 6 kids to a sit down restaurant and feel actually welcomed. The staff was all so sweet, encouraged the kids to look around and ride in their state trooper car, even gave them quarters to use. The food was great! The kids loved that they got theirs delivered in cars. We all had burgers and fries. Fresh, homemade goodness. definitely recommend and will be back.“

“George’s was hands down one of the best meals on our trip so far!!! Our server, Coco, was absolutely amazing from start to finish. She took the time to help us decide what to order, and every recommendation was spot on. We started with the Bear Bites. They are practically a meal all by themselves! Then Coco suggested the blackened shrimp tacos for Chad, and he was completely blown away by how good they were. I ordered the steak fingers, and they were perfect. Super tender on the inside with an incredibly crunchy coating on the outside. Exactly how steak fingers should be! We both got the onion rings, and geez, they were HUGE! The Texas portions were so big that we ended up taking a ton of food back to the hotel. Great food, great atmosphere, and outstanding service. Coco truly made our experience memorable. Thanks again, Coco! If you ever make it through North Carolina again, give us a wave! 👋“

“had dinner with my daughter at Cotton Patch in Waco, Destiny was our waitress. we had the chicken fried steak special and chicken fried chicken sandwich with fries and the sauce. dinner was really good, sweet tea was very refreshing nice and sweet with just a hint of lemon. Destiny was spectacular, very friendly, smiling, and very helpful. answered all our questions. would highly recommend.“

Dumb a** me left my wallet at the restaurant and didn’t realize until getting ready to leave for the airport at 0830. We stopped by the restaurant to see if it was still in the outdoor eating area…nope. Luckily, ran into the contractor doing some work…he called the owner, the owner confirmed it was in the office safe. After hearing I needed to make the AM flight to DFW for connection to home, he dispatched an employee to go in on a planned closed day to get my wallet. This kindness allowed me to make my flight…what he didn’t know is this act of kindness was critical because I had a new job in-person interview scheduled for the next day. Forever grateful. THAT is customer service. Thank you so much! Tells a lot about the culture and dedication to customers. Keep up the awesome work…I will be back. Promise to keep better accountability of my wallet!“

“Good food and service was good. We had the salmon and porkchop. The porkchop was dry but overall food was good and presented very well.

The decor and view is amazing. The place is beautiful including the bathrooms, make sure to walk around and enjoy it. The upstairs rooftop was closed. We went on a Saturday around 645pm and had reservations.“

Yes please.this Cafe is built within a house. the living room turned into a dining area, the kitchen was widened, library to the left then around the next corner another room turned into a dining area. upon arrival (depending what time you get there) you wait in line .(please do not block the door) choose your dish then choose your table and enjoy and yes! it's absolutely Free... the interior is very clean, not to crowded and after you are done eating the waiter or waitress will pickup after you and prepare the way for the next guest. the atmosphere here is no different than any upscale 5 star restaurant although I did enjoy my conversation here just a tad bit more. mainly cause they were rooted in kindness with compassion. there are restrooms, it is wheelchair accessible but no wifi and parking is rough but it's definitely worth the small thing we go through. I'm not exactly sure how the book part works ,maybe cause the meatballs in mashed potatoes had me savoring the taste😛 but if you so choose afterwards you can catch a seat on the wrap around porch or benches out back and strike up a great conversation as your food settles. I strongly recommend this Cafe to all who visit Waco remember Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m...enjoy“

“Food is delicious and fresh, the service we got was great, they didn’t cook my husband’s burger right so they took it back, came back with the wrong cheese and were willing to take it back again. Our server was on it, I can’t remember her name but it was a unique and beautiful name, for 4 of us the cost was reasonable!“
