The grilled crab cake had a good flavor but not hot (temperature wise) enough for my liking. I would try the fried instead if that’s your thing. The potato bowl with etouffe with fried shrimp was so good and seasoned.

“had dinner with my daughter at Cotton Patch in Waco, Destiny was our waitress. we had the chicken fried steak special and chicken fried chicken sandwich with fries and the sauce. dinner was really good, sweet tea was very refreshing nice and sweet with just a hint of lemon. Destiny was spectacular, very friendly, smiling, and very helpful. answered all our questions. would highly recommend.“

“From start to finish, this spot was terrific. The shrimp cocktail was huge (8 pieces) which you don't typically get in a shrimp cocktail. The seabass I had was lovely - I was able to sub out the kimchi in my dish (not a fan) for wilted spinach and so much on the menu was gluten free which I 100% appreciate. Also, they brought a special dessert from their cafe downstairs just so I could have a GF Dessert option other than ice cream. But to me, most importantly, our server was delightful and attentive without being in your face (young blond gentleman). As a business owner, I appreciate great customer service!!! Yes please.this Cafe is built within a house. the living room turned into a dining area, the kitchen was widened, library to the left then around the next corner another room turned into a dining area. upon arrival (depending what time you get there) you wait in line .(please do not block the door) choose your dish then choose your table and enjoy and yes! it's absolutely Free... the interior is very clean, not to crowded and after you are done eating the waiter or waitress will pickup after you and prepare the way for the next guest. the atmosphere here is no different than any upscale 5 star restaurant although I did enjoy my conversation here just a tad bit more. mainly cause they were rooted in kindness with compassion. there are restrooms, it is wheelchair accessible but no wifi and parking is rough but it's definitely worth the small thing we go through. I'm not exactly sure how the book part works ,maybe cause the meatballs in mashed potatoes had me savoring the taste😛 but if you so choose afterwards you can catch a seat on the wrap around porch or benches out back and strike up a great conversation as your food settles. I strongly recommend this Cafe to all who visit Waco remember Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m...enjoy“

“1 - Excellent food…fried pickles appetizer gone in 60 seconds; burgers were awesome; tater tots add beyond yummy…and stay crispy enough for next day breakfast ( because they give you a portion that you WILL have another meal) 2 - Speedy, friendly customer service…very attentive staff….we tipped well over the standard 20% because it was so good! 3 - beautiful, lively atmosphere…air coolers for outdoor eating, which we chose despite the heat/humidity Most importantly, I was an out of tower and this was my last meal with local family before flying out the next morning. Dumb a** me left my wallet at the restaurant and didn’t realize until getting ready to leave for the airport at 0830. We stopped by the restaurant to see if it was still in the outdoor eating area…nope. Luckily, ran into the contractor doing some work…he called the owner, the owner confirmed it was in the office safe. After hearing I needed to make the AM flight to DFW for connection to home, he dispatched an employee to go in on a planned closed day to get my wallet. This kindness allowed me to make my flight…what he didn’t know is this act of kindness was critical because I had a new job in-person interview scheduled for the next day. Forever grateful. THAT is customer service. Thank you so much! Tells a lot about the culture and dedication to customers. Keep up the awesome work…I will be back. Promise to keep better accountability of my wallet!“

“Well I can see why they have such rave reviews. When we showed up the line was almost out the door. That said allot. We decided to stay and get in the reservation list. Not more n 15 minutes pat and we were in the door !I only wish they had more options besides pork for meats but I was so impressed by the biscuits, the service and the price point weren't terrible. Cute little store inside the restaurant. Very tempting. Bring one to my city!!! My daughter and I really enjoyed it here and she is VERY PICKY!! ENJOY Y'ALL.“

“Have you ever been walking down the street and see a place that looks interesting? This evening my wife and I saw the doors and stepped in. No we didn’t have a reservation and beyond excited to see they had a single open table. I make it a habit to ask the waiter what they recommend and let them plan my meal. “let me just say i had the best meal in the world at salkgrass the steak melted in my mouth the waiter cannon was the best server he did his job my mom and i go here from time to time and we have to share a steak cannon never looked down on us cuz we were sharing the mood in the room was beautiful the manager is doing his job the waiter cannon was professional beyond and last but not least in this kind of job cooking steaks and things mostly are men but i found out it was a woman that cooked our steak yall need to give that lady a raise no doubt i will be back“
