“I would say that this is a hidden gem but it's really a gem that MANY people know and visit...just off the beaten path a little. It happens to be on our bike route, so we often stop then as well as anytime wifey and I head out of town. Very friendly "staff" (family) and always clean. Food is great (coffee good too). I'm a kolache person, so they have a good selection. Seating is adequate as well.“

They've really nailed it with their breakfast food. The standout for us has been their croissant sandwiches (bacon for the wife, sausage for myself). We've had it delivered a few times, and it always arrives perfectly - the croissant is buttery and flaky, and the sausage is just the right amount of savory.I've also heard rave reviews about their kolaches, and though we haven't tried them yet, they're definitely on our list. “Billy is amazing!! He is open every day. Even during the hurricane. The muffins, doughnuts, egg sandwiches and breakfast tacos are made fresh everyday. We especially love the blueberry muffins and the bacon or sausage egg and cheese crescents. He opens very early so you have time to go by before work. He usually closes around 1:00 pm. He almost daily sells out of everything. Go by, try it and get a warm smile and greeting from Billy or his wife.“

“I can’t believe someone left a shameful review of this place. My kids and I have been getting donuts here every Friday since we moved to La Porte. The man doesn’t speak as much as English as his wife but they are BOTH so unbelievable friendly! She learned my kids names and their orders and no matter how busy it is she takes the time to special make my sons frosting and sprinkles covered donuts! WE LOVE THIS DONUT STORE especially over any other chain in La Porte.

“Some places use profit to make there place look pretty while cutting corners on quality over time, but I have been going to this place off and on for about 20 years and while some items come and go depending on demand I have never been disappointed in my purchase of any of there products because of the quality ingredients they use. I would recommend this place to any who ask and have on many occasions.“

The cinnamon rolls are good too.Reading some of the reviews the score should be higher here since some of the complaints are ridiculous.If you have a tree nut allergy do not come here. I mentioned in the order it was for a birthday and the very kind people at Ashley’s went above and beyond writing Happy Birthday messages on the package and even making a little handmade card! They threw in some extra doughnuts and even packaged one separately decorated with a birthday candle!! “I stop here pretty regularly on weekday morning for a few kolaches and a donut. I always use the drive through, and even though the line can get pretty long, it moves quickly. They're always very fast and courteous in their drive through window.“
