“Love this donut spot, super close to 69 omw to work. I love the croissant kolaches def rec so cheesy, the croissant is soft & flaky. They sell out of those quickly. I def prefer this place OVER Shipleys. The donut holes are also the softest & perfect amount of glaze/sweetness. They also have cappuccinos too that are super yummy !“

“I don’t know what happened at this location these young people that are in place lack customer service skills. The drinks used to always be made right not sloppy. If my regular place didn’t have a huge order this morning I would have went to them. The way the drinks are made isn’t worth it anymore. On yesterday i witnessed a customer bringing back a breakfast sandwich she was letting the worker know that the bacon was raw coming from an elderly person that meant she wanted her bacon crispy. Your workers should never argue back with customers especially the elderly.“

Ladies are quick so when the line is long... you still get served in 10 minutes.
It's a donut shop, clean with tables... not atmosphere. LOL.

“My neighbor brought over an extra dozen donuts over from Home Cut Donuts. I thanked her, put the on my kitchen table but was reluctant 2 try them because they usually don't compare 2 the Houston donut shop errrr institution that has been here since 1936, but they have not been tasting like they used 2, lately. I eventually tried them ( 2 ). I put them in the microwave for 10 seconds. I took a bite. I was surprised. They tasted a lot better than I thought. The donuts were very tasty, especially w/ their sugary glaze. Next time, I want refrigerate them over night, microwave them & then taste them. See how they taste. That would be a true test. Would buy them again ? YES ! ! ! !“

“I’ll give them 5 stars because it’s classic Southern Maid. Have not been to this location in 40 years, not sure it was a SM back then. Several Southern Maids throughout Houston, consistent donut and kolaches. She gave us each a couple donut holes with our kolaches. Cinnamon rolls were perfect, and an extra bag of Donut holes. Not Shipleys melt in your mouth, but still very delicious.“

“Delicious kolaches (10/10 bread and sausages imo), fluffy donuts that are a delightful level of sweet and flavored without being overkill, and a genuinely welcoming owner. I went here for breakfast multiple days in a week, both for myself and to make a few large kolache hauls for a group, when I was visiting the area and he joyfully welcomed me and remembered our ongoing conversation day to day. I'll will be returning when next I'm around and I recommend ya check it out too!“

“It's a small family owned business business located between two big chains (Subway & McDonald's).
They have a good line of service and a great variety of items on their menu.
From glazed doughnuts, colaches, croissant breakfast sandwiches, breakfast tacos, coffee, and just recently Boba smoothies.
The foot traffic is busy during the morning commute, but it eases down once the late morning kicks in.
They do close early (2:30 pm), so I would suggest going there between 8:00am and 12:30 pm“
