“I worked from home today and decided to go try them out since they right around the corner from home and soooo glad I did , I had a vegetable plate and them Collard greens were so good savory and creole taste I could have eaten a whole bowl , the other veggies mac and cheese and yams were just a good home “

The owner is the greatest and seems to know when you need a laugh or hug. Of course the food is the star of show...I only get disappointed when I can't finish it all...“

“I was referred to Ophelia’s by none other than Galveston’s own Bruh Man from da fifth floor! Pepper Junior is my new favorite person on this island!!! He should get an award for that fried chicken and the fried catfish. I cannot believe how delicious everything tasted fresh reasonable price. It was the vibe for me. “It was meant to be we were trying to go to a different one originally and they were closed and we wanted soul food. So I googled again and found this place. And I am so glad we did. My husband got the oxtails. I got the fish it was delicious the fish was fresh. It was juicy. I wish they had fried okra, but the mac & cheese was good and so are the green beans. I almost forgot the little cornbread was delicious. We got ours to go. But even the atmosphere inside was nice. Definitely not trying to make this a race thing but I’ve been to soul food places and they look at me differently because I’m white and my husbands black but everybody in here was super nice and we didn’t get any side eyes. So if you wanna be treated like a human and get some damn good food, this is where you need to go 10/10 recommend.“

“These folks are from Galveston and are really great , inspite of their very rude serving staff I’m aware that good help is hard to find.. this seems like a great opportunity for some training.. again food was very good and plenty of it! Again the food was great and a lot of it .. the staff just left a lot to be desired.Kid-friendliness: I would not recommend taking my kids there…“
