“I found Maria's Cafe via Google Search and I'm a sucker for family owned hole-in-the-wall places that serve authentic no frills cuisine. Maria's does not disappoint. You will find tacos of every kind, including familiar ones and many others that I haven't seen in other places. I tried the Taco Mando Loco #1 on a corn tortilla which was served piping hot with a chilli sauce/salsa on the table. Word of caution for those who aren't accustomed to higher spice levels, this one has a kick to it, and that's a good thing.
For the 2nd order I was curious to know what they have for veggie tacos. When I asked, I was promptly handed a green sheet with a handwritten menu with over 20 different veggie tacos! I ordered Jeff's Vegan and it was awesome.
The location is about 2 miles from the city center so it's a short cab ride away but it's worth the trip. You'll get home made food that won't burn a hole in your wallet.

“This place is pretty good. I got myself beef enchiladas with rice and beans. I can say the refried beans didn’t taste great. It tasted as if they were really old about to spoil. We also had the menudo and it was delicious. The last thing we tried was the mini tacos with avacado and Mexican cheese. They were delicious as well. I would recommend this place to try out and see how you like it. I am sure the beans were good. I just didn’t feel they were the best.“

“Excellent restaurant. Tortillas were handmade - tender but with enough body not to fall apart around taco fillings. Food was well prepared, with lots of flavor. Papas rancheras and bewn and cheese were on point. Highly recommend and will be returning for more on the menu. Friendly and attentive service and great value.

“Great breakfast and lunch, dine- in specials, with coffee / tea included. Servers are on point with refills and checking on you, friendly, and make you feel welcomed. And I especially love how cozy and comfortable it was the two times I had gone for breakfast. It's warm and inviting. I had the chilequiles breakfast special. They are AMAZING!! Their huevos ranchero are great, too. The ranchero sauce is very hearty and flavorful. I will definitely go back and recommend to others.“

“Very clean tables and no trash on floors. Menudo was worth getting...tender tripe, plenty pozole, broth was thick. Dressed up Menudo with lemon, onions, pepper, and spicy red salsa. Corn tortillas were homemade... delicious with butter. Papa ranchero taco, over stuffed and not water-based, awesome.“

“Their food is what you truly call HOMEMADE AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD♥️♥️♥️ I have menudo in sooo many restaurants but this menudo is like going back in time to your mama’s kitchen ! Deliciousness in its true form. The tripas are CLEANED before dried & the tortillas are so soft & well cooked - not that white warmed over stuff u get at other places.
