“Where in the world would you expect to find exceptional food and service on a holiday! Walburg German Restaurant delivers both. Being the 4th of July Walburg offered a lunch menu, but still had a terrific selection of German beers! The service was unbelievably friendly, helpful, and efficient! We drove 200 miles expecting great food and we were definitely not disappointed! Best homemade bratwurst, and jaegerschnitzel in years! The deserts were equally great!“

“The best way to celebrate America's 250th anniversary in this charming small town cottage.

Everyone, including older ladies, were clothed in their best Love America outfits. The charm charm of small town America.

Atmosphere: a beautiful cottage decorated with assorted Americana decorations. Loved it. See pics.

Food: I ordered a quiche Lorraine (the last one) with fresh fruits (I wished there was more variety, like with berries). The quiche was wonderful and tasty just the way I like. It was obviously made from scratch, the custard very eggy and had nice bacon flavor.

Feeling guilty, - im not supposed to eat sweets - I ordered an additional scone (see pic) with lemon curd. The scone was huge. The flavor was nice and crudty on the putdide but unfortunately, the inside was a little goowie (undercooked). The lemon curd was a tart & smooth addition.

Service: I was helped by a bunch of young - Aaron - but very professional servers.

Overall: a very good impression. I will certainly come back, maybe next year for the 251st Anniversay.

“I went here for the first time this past Saturday when visiting my daughter for parents weekend. I had the best lemon pepper chicken wings I have ever had! The pizza slice was huge and delicious. Even better we had the most attentive and helpful waitress ever…I believe her name was Bella. She was the best!“

Ike's corporate reached out and resolved most of the issues I had, so I have updated the review.

These sandwiches really are fantastic, even though they are on the pricey side. In my opinion, the extra cost is worth it. Unique, creative sandwich designs, ingredients, and amazing flavors.

The only thing I'll say is to watch for mistakes like missing side orders of sauce or even missing sandwiches, but Ike's (corporate and the Georgetown store) will make it right if they do make a mistake. Their food quality, positive attitude, and willingness to fix issues have earned my continued business.“

“I recommend it only for to go. Dining in is weird. My Google review: It used to be a regular restaurant where staff would come take your order and deliver your food to your table on plate. Now you order your food at the counter and they bring your food to you in a plastic to go container. You have to pick up your own PLASTIC forks and napkins, and take them back to the table. The boxes they have chosen to put them in are incredibly difficult to open. The food is still really good but we will not be dining in the restaurant anymore. We might still get something to go but not near as often as we had been dining on site. Sad.“

“We got to try Simmer Down Cafe for the first time the other night! I was surprised that there were almost no customers on a Saturday at dinner time. It seems like a pretty cool hangout spot, so maybe it gets busier later in the evening. There's a bar, a patio with seating and a pool table, a little lounge area with couches, and even a few slot machines. The food was basic but not bad, and our waiter was friendly. It's great that they have breakfast options available all day! There were two gentlemen working the whole dining room, so hopefully other staff showed up later. There was nobody behind the bar, and I did overhear one of the gentlemen say that all the bartenders were fired, but maybe he was referring to somewhere else. It's nice to see staff still in good spirits and working hard even with just two of them!“

I really like all the choices for toppings, but it's usually better if you order in the store so you can watch it being made and ask them to add a little more or whatever. “I ordered the triple dipper. The 3 items I chose were the mozzarella sticks, boneless buffalo wings and egg rolls. The appetizer came with ranch and marinara sauce. It took longer than usual to get the food. When it did come I noticed the eggs rolls were much smaller than usual and my boneless buffalo wings were cold. Our waitress was quick to fix the issue with the wings. The manager brought out a fresh batch. My waitress was fantastic but the food was mid. Seems like the portions are getting smaller and the price is getting higher.“
