The food was great, as usual, but the staff were top notch! Our waitress Tee was kind, personable, and so excellent at her job! :) She even brought out this sweet treat to celebrate me! Additionally, the manager, Michael was warm and friendly and talked with us a couple of times! The BEST last Tex-Mex experience before heading across the pond!“

“A very active and busy restaurant! This place is constantly moving. The staff are amazing. Table turnaround from guest leaving to cleanup to new guest seated was amazingly quick. The wait staff are active in recommending good food if you dont know what to eat. They are regularly checking in and animated and talkative with you when checking on you. The manager makes a point to stop by every table to make sure you are enjoying the food. Manager even grabbed a broom to sweep a mess up and pulled dishes to help clean as well as helped run food out. They have a system and it works. The food is amazing. I highly recommend the Chicken Fajitas. Juicy, tender and amazing. The salsa and other fresh ingredients are fantastic as well. Just the right kick from the homemade salsa.“

“August 18, 2026, the Chesapeake Bay passenger van took us tenants to Taco Tuesday at El Tiempo Cantina in Webster. The van’s dash display showed an outside temperature of 104 degrees.

The air-conditioned Cantina had a cheerful atmosphere, skilled decorating, friendly staff, big portions of good food, and excellent service. Our server was attentive, patient, informative, and accurate. He was helpful throughout the meal. He provided most of the ladies with boxes, plastic bowls, and bags so they could carry uneaten portions home as supper.

We agreed we’d like to return to El Tiempe Cantina in the Future.“

The chips and salsa are kinda meh, but I go there for the actual food, and always skip out on that because the chips there aren’t very tasty. If you’re looking for super authentic then you might be disappointed. Now it’s not full blown Tex Mex, but it definitely has its influences on some of the dishes. The tortillas are homemade, and the staff is nice. Parking can suck at times.“

“This place is great, my husband and I never spend more than $40 to eat here. They are known for their Puffy Tacos (corn tortilla). The plate is less than $15 for 2 tacos, beans and rice. The tacos are pretty loaded. Their cheese enchiladas are good. I will state that the enchiladas are more tex-mex (my fav), so they are really cheesy and have a chile con carne sauce. The margaritas aren't my thing, but I'm picky, so they might be yours. The staff is always kind and attentive.“

The enchiladas & steak, more like a slice of brisket drenched in a salty cheese sauce. Awful!! The beef enchilada, unflavored ground meat, again drenched in a red sauce WITH cheese. Cancun tilapia again with cheese and 8 tiny cocktail shrimp - no garlic sauce The plate was hot but not the food. At 8ish on a saturday night they only had 3 or 4 tables, no more than 12 people, including us 3 If they were starting to close for the day, they should've close the area they were cleaning. I don't appreciate smelling 'Fabuloso" while I'm eating with the mop bucket next to my table. Really your motto should be "Why are you still in business..." “I stopped by Barcena’s Mexican Cantina today on 2094 near 518 in League City, and let me tell you—I was not prepared for how good it was. 😅 This spot has seen a rotation of restaurants over the last five years, so I was a little hesitant. My husband and I were straight off the boat… dirty but clean… but still dirty in a clean kind of way. You get it. 😂 I’ve seen Birria tacos everywhere but had never actually tried them until today—and OH. MY. GOODNESS. My jaw hit the table. They were insanely delicious and officially my new obsession. I can already tell the cravings are coming. My husband ordered the crispy beef tacos and he absolutely loved them. The manager, Melissa, even stopped by our table and told us they serve breakfast all day. So yes, if we want Bellinis and pancakes at 9 PM, they’ll make them. And if we want fajitas at 9 AM? Done. That alone deserves a standing ovation. Our server. Denilson, was wonderful—kind, soft-spoken, and on top of everything. Truly a great experience from start to finish.
