“This is one of my favorite coffee shops. My husband always gets a specialty brew, but I opt for cafe au lait--perfect combination of coffee and milk. The only drawback is that the place is so popular that parking and seating can be a challenge. We always find places to park and sit, but I'm afraid that someday I may have to opt for take-out.
Parking: Be patient“

“I'm a huge fan of this coffee shop and have been coming every Friday to work on homework since I moved to Waco to pursue a PhD. The staff here are incredibly friendly and make some great vanilla Lattes. The music and atmosphere gears me up to grind on my homework.“

“If you are looking for the best local coffee shop I would consider Common Grounds. It's the nearest certain fun time for grounded coffee and also an impressive Cafe. Its the perfect place to study and I personally trade in the morning. Great barista and cute environment for talking. Thank you ☕“
“You won't find a better coffee house in Waco. Be sure to follow them on social media and attend some of their special events after-hours (e.g. art galleries, spoken word, etc).“

“We were here in the entire Silo District of Waco, including the Magnolia Press Coffee Co. What Joanna has created with Chip and others here is a small oasis of well-being that encourages you to rest, enjoy and shop and is inspiring at the same time. Even if the items in the shops around you seem too expensive and you don't want to/can't buy anything, a trip there is highly recommended. Simply enjoy a delicious coffee in the Magnolia Press, highly recommended in the attached garden when the weather is nice. I had a pumpkin spice latte (this was in November) and it was really tasty. The best I've ever drunk anywhere. There is a large, free parking lot right next to Magnolia Press and plenty of clean restrooms on site. A place to feel completely comfortable.“
“I am brand new to Waco and love my coffee.. a little too much ? I either have starbucks, dutch bros, or Reign Coffee.
I love the environment! Super chill, and the decor is really cute. I also love they have wellness stuff, cups, and other things you can get there for yourself or as a gift.
I have ordered their Blood Orange Lemonade (i think this is what it called), Caramel frappe, and the 806 Latte. All were so good. Check them out!“
“Lots of varieties of tea, clean establishment and friendly staff.“

“Every experience I've had at Poppa Bear Boba has been fantastic! The owner is just amazing, and on top of that, both the drinks and the food are great! Forgive my spelling, but the sandwiches are phenomenal, and you can't go wrong with a Tai tea. .y wife prefers sweet stuff, and had the coconut cream milk (might be the wrong name, but you'll see it), and it was delicious...though a bit sweet for my palate!
I highly recommend them, and hope you'll give them a try! I've heard the Pho is great, and the weekly specials just seem delicious! I'll definitely be going back!“

“Immediate takeaway - the absolute most creative coffee stand. It's in a vintage elevator! Simple, elegant, quirky, one-barista Cafe. Great drink selection for the size and resources available. The barista seemed to be a bit distant, not the warmest, but, may have been me. Drinks were well timed, but the dirty chai I got was not sweet at all, surprisingly. Not the worst, just unexpected for the flavor. Overall, a great little place in a historic building with cool vibes and good brews.“

“I went In and order a coffee with cream, they had to brew coffee so it was a little wait which is perfectly fine. There was a lady in there who was so pleasant, she noticed me waiting asked me my name and what I got, looked for my order told me what was going on and presented me with my coffee when it was done and a little coupon for next time since I had to wait. She really went above and beyond and made my day!“

“Needed a breakfast place that opened early and had a variety of breakfast options. We have some food issues, so this place serves pretty much everything you'd ever expect for breakfast, including gluten free options, etc. and they opened at 7:30am on a Sunday.
Overall this should be a pretty good review. Nice place, clean, nice staff. Food was decent.
Our only negative issues were two: they came and took our drink order pretty quickly, then two waters, a coffee and a hot tea took 20 minutes. Then another 10 minutes until someone, someone different, came and took our food order. And then, 20 minutes after that, the food didn't show up correct.
I ordered the "Veggie Swiss" omelet. The server repeated back my order "You want the veggie omelet?". I figured, OK, so "yes".
Came with tiny chopped veggies (1/4" cubes) and zero swiss cheese. I did also do a substitution, grits for toast and the grits were OK. Not fully cooked but grits are indeed hard to get right. They were decent, as was the cheese-less, very plain and simple omelet. My wife just got two fried eggs and hashbrowns and those were good, except she ordered two orders of hashbrowns and they delivered only one - and then promptly went back and brought us out another.
Had to flag someone down to get a refill of coffee.
Nice place but management needs to train and supervise these Baylor college kids. Smart kids, nice, good atmosphere, polite and clean, but the service issues tainted an otherwise good time.“

“Common Grounds in the Baylor SUB has been a gem for coffee enthusiasts like myself. As the smaller of the two Common Grounds locations on campus, it's perfectly situated for convenience, nestled right in the Student Union Building. This spot has been a sanctuary for me, offering a comprehensive menu that mirrors its larger counterpart near Brooks Flats. What makes this location stand out is its unique 'Cowboy Coffee' menu, an exclusive feature boasting drinks made with their famous, sweet, and caffeinated Secret Sauce. From the classic Cowboy Coffee to the innovative Coconut Cowboy, each option is available hot or iced, catering to all preferences. The array of house specialties like Frozen Cappuccino, Mocha Mint Madness, and the exotic Matcha Latte adds a delightful twist to the coffee experience. And let's not forget the staples - the perfectly brewed Drip Coffee and the robust Nitro Cold Brew are just a few of the options that keep me coming back. For students and faculty on the north side of campus, this Common Grounds location is a haven. It saves the trek across campus, offering a quick, delicious coffee fix right where it's needed. Whether you're grabbing a cup to kickstart your morning or seeking a cozy spot to unwind, Common Grounds at the Baylor SUB is the go-to place for top-notch coffee and a welcoming atmosphere.

“The Toasted Yolk Café in Waco left me with mixed feelings. First, the vibe was pretty much absent—lime green walls didn’t create the cozy breakfast atmosphere I’d hoped for. Their menu is huge, with around 50+ items, but it felt like a quantity-over-quality situation. The egg toast, though, was the star—two pieces of goodness that stood out. As for the rest? Heavy, country-style breakfasts, nothing light or memorable. Service was fine but nothing special, and the price was on the high side. I spent $25 for one person (with tip), and that’s just coffee, no cocktails included. A party of two could easily hit $40+. Big portions, but not necessarily bold flavors. If you’re after a hearty meal, sure, but I’m not rushing back.“
