“I’ve been coming here multiple times a week for about a year now. What started out as an invite to the Wednesday night Jams turned into me bringing my best friends and family for any reason we can find to get out. I won’t mention the most quiet night because I want that to myself but karaoke on Sundays and Tuesdays is a blast. All of the food is delicious. I wish they’d make the steak and beet salad a regular option, I’ve been waiting so long for it to come back.
It’s my go-to meet up spot and my first date recommendation bc, even if the man sucks, at least I’m at A Bar Named Sue!
Management is incredible, Leroy runs a tight ship but manages a solid team and remembers the names of even the most ambiguous patrons. He’s defended me personally against a strange man once or twice and never forgets to greet people with the “high five” he’s known for. My other faves are Jacob, Micah, Ashley, Nixon, Sienna and many more.

The women’s bathroom is always clean and had never run out of soap or paper towels even once. The tables have never been sticky and the community of regulars is something out of a sitcom. Like Shameless, in the best way! ABNS on state is the elite location and I’ll argue with anyone about that.“

“So I went there back when it was the Midway, had a horrible experience. A few weeks ago I Ubered their music director War (I think that was what came up on the app) to work. I told him of my experience back when, he asked me to give them another try, I did last night, I'm glad I did. It was a jumping place, I tried their street tacos, really good. I'll be back.“

The food was extremely flavorful and well made, juicy, and beautifully seasoned. The drinks were all also well made and up to par of what I'd think any flavors should/would be. “Big Willies is way more than your average sports bar. I ordered the Bacon Mashed Up Burger with a side of onion rings, and both were excellent. The burger was juicy and full of flavor, the onion rings were crispy, and the atmosphere was perfect for watching a game. Friendly staff, good food, and I'll try the wings next time.“

“I'm not even sure where to begin. I am a young combat Veteran. This was the only place near me that I thought I'd have a chance of connecting with other veterans and families of veterans. Last night, Aug 14th, after only a few minutes there I was met with hostility, degrading comments, and physical assault by an intixicated individual. His name is Keven Sloan who isnt even a Vet. I'm in shock that the victims (myself and my friend who is also a combat vet) were removed from the establishment and the aggressors were allowed to follow us to our vehicles. And the people here were completely ok with it. Even as I was signing my tab, these aggressors were by my vehicle the entire time wanting physical altercations. I'm pursuing legal remedies at this time. The news outlets are aware too of what transpired. Stay away from this poorly ran establishment. It's not Vet friendly.“

“-INITIAL REACTION- We walked in to a seat yourself sign. It was packed but we got lucky that they were wiping down a two top near the bar right as we walked in. Our server Erik was there within a minute with water, wished us a happy valentines, and told us about the specials for the night. While he grabbed our drink orders, a blackberry mule and a soda, we looked at the menu. -FOOD- My wife was already sold on the surf and turf. I was trying to decided between a burger, pasta, or pizza when the table behind us got their food and the fish and chips looked too good. We also got an order of the croquettes, we did 2 ham and cheese and 2 regular. The croquettes came out quickly and were crispy, massive, and cheesy, with two really good sauces (garlic aioli and spicy tomato) to dip. The haddock was massive and the breading was perfectly crisp, the fish was light and nicely seasoned and was perfectly complemented by the tartar sauce (which tasted fresh and I would guess is made in house but I didn't verfiy that). The Asian slaw was tangy and fresh and the chips were some of the best I've had, reat seasoning, crispy exterior and a fluffy interior, almost a midway between potato wedges and potato skins. My wife got the Surf n Turf special and it was delicious. The prime rib was in a red wine reduction sauce, the steak was cooked beautifully. The potatoes were creamy and buttery. I didn't personally try the lobster but my wife said it was amazing. -SERVICE- We were served by Erik and he did fantastic, was quick, personable, attentive, gave great recommendations, and never once did my soda reach the bottom before he was checking if I wanted a refill. Towards the end of the meal we were visited by the manager Marc to see how everything was and ended up chatting with him for a while. He got us boxes, gave tips on reheating and gave us some to go containers of the sauces. Overall the service was some of the best we've gotten in recent memory. -COST- The average plate is about $20-30 and honestly for the quality and the amount of food you get it is extremely fair imo.“

“Best Bar in Utah. I am from the Midwest and it reminds me of home. Waitresses know your name. Cold beer good food for a good price. I bring all my friends and family who come in from out of town. Way better than the Ice Hause next door that always charges a cover and serves raw meat.“

He never writes orders down but everything we've ordered comes out perfect and never send food back (groups of 4-6). We come on Mondays at lunch to play pool and have cheap steins but lately we've been coming in other days. I assume the rest of the staff is as awesome as him. Check it out!“

“Try to get a table on the outdoor patio- lovely setting there. The front row of the parking lot is reserved for motorcycles and you will see the prettiest bikes ever. This is a motorcycle bar with decent bar food. I recommend the baby back ribs and the onion rings. Don’t know about the alcohol served here. There are pool tables and it feels comfortable just sitting around nursing a cold one.“

“It depends upon what you're looking for. This place is light and airy. They offer a respectable menu, I tried the jalapeño burger. They have a few sides to go with the main items. Main floor has recently become restaurant, so you're not carded unless you want a drink containing liquor. They have a reasonably stocked bar, but as a restaurant it's not offered (you must ask).

It is clean and our waitress was courteous, knowledgeable, and yet respected our space so we could talk. Similar to a sports bar, the screens were alive with the current events (in our case, world cup soccer).

Admittedly, we did lunch, so it was not crowded yet. But, the atmosphere was generally peaceful and conducive to conversation. It is kept clean and organized by the staff allowing for quick easy seating and again quiet comfortable conversation.

I only left 4 stars in atmosphere because it is not meant for children, so you have to take that into consideration. I have the full 5 for food. Though it is not fine dining, the menu has plenty to offer and the plates we had were sized right and very well done“

“I went to The Break when I was in town to see several hockey games recently. We stayed at a hotel within walking distance of The Maverik Center and The Break, and went to The Break after a game for appetizers and drinks. First off, the food and drinks we got were absolutely fantastic. They were a great price for the quality. Second, the atmosphere was wonderful. Folks were there watching the Bears vs Rams wild card game, and everyone was cheering together. After the game, it was easy to tell there was a solid group of regulars, and several people stopped to talk to us because we were in Kansas City sports gear. But most important was my experience after leaving Salt Lake City. I accidentally left an item at the table when I left, and didn’t realize it until I got home to Kansas City the next day. I called The Break, and not only had staff saved it in the lost and found, they were willing to ship it back to me! While it wasn’t a particularly expensive item, it did have sentimental value so I’m excited it wasn’t lost forever. If I’m ever back in Salt Lake City, I’ll absolutely visit The Break again.“

“My lady and I have been coming here for going on six months now. It has been nothing short of an awesome experience. Moses is security and does a great job, super cool dude! Paxton is one of the bar tenders and gets to know his customers. We don’t even have to place our drink orders anymore, he knows what we get and has them ready for us before we even start to bowl! Steph is one of the servers and is the friendliest and nicest server we have ever had! All around the staff here is top notch! We are dedicated bowlers at Pins and Ales now thanks to the great team and atmosphere! 10 stars is the true rating!“
