My wife and I went to Pei Wei today at the 10373 S State St, Sandy, UT location. I ordered the Salmon Poke Bowl, and my wife went for the Chicken Lettuce Wraps. First off, super yummy. Like, “I’m already planning my next visit” yummy.

But then came The Crispy Rice Stick Incident of 2025.
The lettuce wraps came with these rice sticks that were so hard, I swear if I had tried to chew them, my dentist would’ve been planning a Hawaiian vacation off my bill. Luckily, Pei Wei’s team stepped in like the customer service Avengers, remade the wraps without the tooth-traps, and did it for free.

Also — and this is a rare unicorn in modern dining — there was no pre-tip line at the register when I prepaid. This is the restaurant equivalent of finding an extra nugget in your Chick-fil-A box. Instant bonus points.

All in all, the food was great, the customer service was stellar, and my teeth remain intact. In this day and age, it’s not easy to find a place where you can get a great meal and not have to worry about something going sideways.

“So I wanted to try something new at Zao and decided to go with the Honey Sriracha as you can see in the picture provided. It has a hint of sweetness but not all-out sugary like teriyaki. It was also enjoyably spicy. I didn’t use any of the sauce except when I was left with just some rice at the end. I’d get it again for sure.“

“This location is very consistent and always delicious. My favorite item is the little chicken teriyaki bowl. I chose the spicy which is has enough spicy to add to the overall flavor without being too spicy. The staff are friendly and fast to get the orders out. I highly recommend this place for a healthy dish that is appropriately priced.“

“For me a great find. Make sure you’re hungry they fill you up. I got the beef teriyaki with noodles and veggies and amazing would be the right description. The steak was so tender and the flavor was perfect. I also ordered the medium spicy and it was just what they said. One of my favorite places for lunch or dinner.“

“I was visiting Utah with family and found this place. Service was phenomenal. We got a K-dawg, 4 Cupbops and a Mega Mandoo. I found out after ordering that the 4 Cupbops and Mega Mandoo is part of a group meal which is much cheaper and I didn’t see until after ordering. I brought it up to them and the refunded and recharged the meal and gave me the K-dawg for free. Even after leaving a generous tip it saved me $15.00. If I could give 6 stars for service I would. Food was great. If you don’t regularly eat spicy food recommend starting at a 5 and moving from there. Highly recommend this place.“

“Anastasia is really warm and welcoming, food is really good and portion is generous as well, the pork leg dish which is only served on certain Tuesdays, one of the best the dish you can get from there in my opinion, the pork leg is cooked to perfection, paired with a broth and veggies super delicious! “I recently came here because I was craving their K-Pop fries and maybe I was hungry, but it tasted really good when I got it. The food still tasted the same as good as ever. You do order from a kiosk and then you just leave and don't really engage with anyone which for an introvert I dont really mind but I can see where that can be hard. “The fried tofu at 7.5 spice is very mild. Good flavor, but if you're looking for more heat I'd say 9 is a better option. It's closer to Sriracha, but not too spicy yet. The apple and strawberry flavored milkies are also pretty good and not odd tasting. The Korean corn dogs are best served with corn flakes, and the all cheese weighs a decent amount. Overall, good value and the taste is worth the price.“

We have an opportunity to enjoy a great dinner, very fresh sashimi platter, playboy roll, seafood fried rice… We are surprise that in a small town like this place , we are able to find a great Japanese food that is as great as the Taiko Restaurant in My home town in Southern California …“

“Went here for the first time. Lunch. Place was packed full at 12pm on a WEDS. We tried maybe 10 different rolls. While they were all fresh most of them were some odd combos. They were trying to hard. When I tried to order some "normal" rolls, the server insisted that we make them into "off menu" rolls which, frankly, fell flat. I would not rush back.“
