First the Food. Everything is freshly made, hot, and very good. I've had the chicken, steak, and salmon teriyaki, all of which are fantastic. The plates are massive, and I often have lots of leftovers. The smaller bowls are also a full meal, and often what I order. The drinks are made fresh as well, and I am fond of the Thai Tea and Sakura Coffee. The Boba is fresh made and hot, which makes for a really fun and unique experience, with the ice cold beverage and warm Boba. Its a treat!
Their sushi is also fairly good.

“Pepper Lunch was on my list of restaurants to try during a trip to Tokyo this past April, but I unfortunately wasn’t able to. Imagine my surprise when I found out that one had opened right here in Riverton!

The food is absolutely fantastic, and appears very fresh. It’s served sizzling hot right on your own personal heated platter, guaranteeing your meal won’t go cold. I ordered a Jumbo Beef with a fountain drink, and paid around $22. For the quality, taste, and freshness of the food, I thought this was an exceptional value.

Don’t forget to ask for a loyalty punch card! For every 8 meals purchased (technically 7, since one spot is already pre-filled) you’ll get a free meal.

“I have been coming here since they've opened and love their food. However, I am very disheartened lately how their cook Olden (I believe is his name) treats the other staff. He tends to get overwhelmed by tickets or special requests. When I've experienced this happening he seems as though he gets stressed out. Then he lashes out on the other staff around him, especially the owner's mother who works the register. I've experienced this on multiple occasions and it's frustrating to see. I love this place but it's beginning to make me not want to come here due to how he treats others. I have kept my mouth closed for the experience of other customers in the building. However, your staff don't deserve this type of treatment and I will be standing up for them the next time this happens in front of me. I've kept my mouth shut long enough.“

“The food is always great at Tsunami. I made a mistake with my reservation and accidentally booked it for 2 people instead 5! I realized my mistake as our reservation was getting close. I called up and Ryan (Manager), upon hearing my situation was able to work with me and get all 5 of us seated right on time. I really appreciate the way he handled the whole thing. We'll keep going to Tsunami in Union Heights!“

I tried 3 rolls here, the Double Spice, the Kamikaze, and the Rich and Rich, all of them were so good I had a hard time deciding which I liked most because each had a unique flavor profile. “We stopped by the Soy Sushi Bar and Grill for dinner, 4927 S State St, Murray, UT 84107 on the trip to visit my friend in Salt Lake City from my home town, Irvine, California . We have an opportunity to enjoy a great dinner, very fresh sashimi platter, playboy roll, seafood fried rice… We are surprise that in a small town like this place , we are able to find a great Japanese food that is as great as the Taiko Restaurant in My home town in Southern California …“

“Echoing what others have said: the food is consistently really good for the price. Unlike other discount sushi places, Yi Sushi’s rolls have a variety of ingredients, flavors, and textures instead of just tempura shrimp and imitation crab on repeat.
But their customer service is pretty bad. The food is good enough to put up with it, but beware of the following:
- They are soooo slow. It took them over 30 minutes to take our order…on a Tuesday night. Don’t make plans after dinner, you will be late to them
- They say they take reservations but don’t trust them to honor it. I knew they had one table that could sit 12-14 people and I called right when they opened in the morning to reserve for a group that large for a birthday dinner. They told me I had a reservation but when we arrived, another group was sitting at the one large group table. I told the hostess that I had made a reservation and she went over to the other group and talked to them, but then she came back and split my group up into two tables without an explanation, apology, or peace offering.“

“For me a great find. Make sure you’re hungry they fill you up. I got the beef teriyaki with noodles and veggies and amazing would be the right description. The steak was so tender and the flavor was perfect. I also ordered the medium spicy and it was just what they said. One of my favorite places for lunch or dinner.“

“Always amazing tasting food! Quality of sashimi & nigiri, as well as rolls is great! Service was good and speed of service was a bit on the slower side, as they seemed to be understaffed. One thing that I find offensive as a great tipper (usually between 22-30%), is that Tsunami determines tip based on total (after 8%+ sales tax), rather than the subtotal. Why should a patron pay 20-22% tip on the 8%+ sales tax paid to the city & state???!!! A fair number of restaurants practice this very deceitful method of calculating tips. This would translate into an additional $16-18 on a $200 meal (subtotal)!!! Why should the waitstaff get $16-20 more (for no additional effort on their part but just because the restaurant dishonestly calculates the tips by doing so on the total incl tax???). I believe in generously taking care of servers who go the extra mile but it is ludicrous to think that one should add a crisp $20 onto the bill just because uncle Utah takes his cut too! ;) ;) ;) lmao“
