“I can say enough good things about the place. I had the full moon roll and the cucumber salad with bean sprouts and tofu. THIS is my new favorite! I have had so many sushi rolls in my life, I even had sushi in Japan. The moon roll was perfect, A++! The cucumber salad was so fresh with a slightly sweetened dressing. My husband had the tempura rice bowl and the seaweed salad with the purple star sake. Wow, everything he had was light and perfectly fresh. The sake is made in-house and is my new favorite warm sake.

“6 stars if I could. I've tried the chicken and beef and salmon teriyaki bowls, as well as the chicken katsu. They were all excellent, and the beef especially is a standout. I'm not normally a beef guy, but it's so good. Also the fried rice--it's actually rice that has been fried, much better than the vast majority of fried rice nowadays. All cooked fresh, best I can tell. Seriously, I'm really impressed with this place, especially at the price point. Friendly staff. I hope they stick around a long time.“

“I made my way to Ramen Legend and took up with their “Killer Veggie Ramen,” a title that threatens mischief but delivers honest comfort. The broth carried a lively kimchi heat—enough to wake a man without causing regret—and with a touch of black sesame oil, it improved itself further.

The noodles behaved properly, the vegetables were in good order, and the whole bowl suggested care rather than haste. A most satisfying vegetarian affair, and one I would gladly repeat.“

I do wish they'd have an option on door dash to hold jalapenos and add other ingredients, like king crab and fish eggs. people would pay extra. I would! “The food is always great at Tsunami. I made a mistake with my reservation and accidentally booked it for 2 people instead 5! I realized my mistake as our reservation was getting close. I called up and Ryan (Manager), upon hearing my situation was able to work with me and get all 5 of us seated right on time. I really appreciate the way he handled the whole thing. We'll keep going to Tsunami in Union Heights!“

“I have been coming here since they've opened and love their food. However, I am very disheartened lately how their cook Olden (I believe is his name) treats the other staff. He tends to get overwhelmed by tickets or special requests. When I've experienced this happening he seems as though he gets stressed out. Then he lashes out on the other staff around him, especially the owner's mother who works the register. I've experienced this on multiple occasions and it's frustrating to see. I love this place but it's beginning to make me not want to come here due to how he treats others. I have kept my mouth closed for the experience of other customers in the building. However, your staff don't deserve this type of treatment and I will be standing up for them the next time this happens in front of me. I've kept my mouth shut long enough.“

The sauces and spices are wonderful and the meat is always cooked perfectly no matter which kind I get, as well as the rice. The service is friendly and again, the food is wonderful. I've come in a bit hangry once and they were good to me anyway. They've got it all figured out.“

There are better sushi joints in town and the servers are a little snotty. Not as bad as the clientele who seem pretentious and obnoxious and make you want to get take out only, which you can. And I'd recommend doing that.“
