I tried the salmon and the grilled chicken, both in the Tiff Salad. You can order the level of spice/heat, but I think I’ll go with none next time because they’re just adding different types of hot sauce to the meat and I’d prefer it grilled. The rice and veggies are so good with the meat, the Tiff salad is awesome. You can get the smaller size and have plenty of food for a dinner sized meal. The maximum you will spend here is $30 alone per person for all you can eat sushi plus tip. (Just kidding, I have a lot more than that as I always do, hahaha).In a singular visit, this has easily become one of my favorite sushi places in the Salt Lake valley. I have been wanting to try Ika sushi for a while now and finally had the opportunity to do so last week. From the outside, it is very unassuming and tucked away within the Riverwalk Shopping Center. The interior of the restaurant is not huge, so while my friends and I were over the course of our for dinner, it filled fairly quickly. I have visited multiple restaurants that were in this specific storefront location that haven't stayed (a poke place, teriyaki, and more), and I HOPE so badly that Ika thrives here because the quality of their sushi was exceptional.One of my friends ordered the Brussel Sprouts which I had the opportunity to try a bite of. To be honest, my first instinct in a sushi place would not be to order Brussel sprouts, but I am so glad my friend did! They are cooked in a citrus white miso sauce and that flavor of the sauce absolutely transforms this dish! Very flavorful!Moving to the sushi, I ordered some Hamachi nigiri and based on my research from other reviews, I really wanted to try out the Twist & Shout roll. When I tell you that the Hamachi nigiri had one of the best quality pieces of raw fish I have ever had, I mean it! Beyond the flavor alone, biting into this piece of Hamachi and through to the rice was like slicing through a soft stick of butter - the texture was perfect! I was almost shocked. To continue to on to the Twist & Shout roll, I cannot express enough that this roll is a MUST try. If you are like me and love a good spicy sushi roll, and this one has the perfect balance of spice. With the chili oil and fresh jalapenos, you have such a nice level of heat that balances so well with the rest of the roll. Also, the addition of the garlic chips adds a nice crunch to each bite without it taking away from the overall texture of the sushi.To end my review, I ask one thing from people who live in this area - please help Ika do well and visit! It is so refreshing to find restaurants in this area that aren't part of a chain, and I want it to succeed so I can keep coming here and not have to go downtown for great sushi!“

“I had never heard of this place and was excited to try it out. It’s a beautiful restaurant on the inside, very nicely decorated. Each table has its own space and there were some larger rooms for bigger groups. The staff were incredible. They’re driving the 5-stars as the food was decent, but nothing too impressive. The egg drop soup was hot but lacked any kind of flavor. The edamame needed to be steamed for a few more minutes as half were still cold and very few popped open very well. The sushi rolls were pretty solid. Nothing glaringly wrong with them and we ate all of the rolls we ordered. The kung pao chicken was very salty, borderline inedible. The fried rice with it was delicious as were the gyoza and the egg roll.“

This place is the BEST. The food is sublime and the folks running it are the absolute nicest people. “I love it here. I wanted to try something different somewhere different and found this and boy am I so dang glad I did. The food here is DELICIOUS. I'm leaving this review after the second time coming back to this restaurant and I want to come twice a month now ?. The service??? Awesome. Very polite, very quick, very friendly. The decor? Adorable. My hubby and I spend about 50-60$ but mind you, that's two people together. We share an appetizer, we get our own sushi rolls and our own main dish plus drinks. (We like the eat). “Bar Nohm is a hidden gem. My friends and I tried this place for the first time last week - one of them is visiting from DC and the other from NYC, and are real foodies - and we all loved this place. First, the ambience is excellent. warm, cozy, and comfortable, with a little hidden area by the kitchens that blocks out all the sound from the busy bar area. The colors and textures of the decor are upscale with playful details. Second, the cocktails are super fun and inventive. Third, the food is phenomenal with lots of interesting flavors and textures that provide a fun experience for anyone from the most adventurous eater to the most cautious. I highly recommend!“

Rice was fried perfectly. I've had this at jinyas before and it was very oily. But this one was perfect. I'm just not sure the texture of the rice is my personal favorite. “We went just after they opened. The nigirii was good. The rolls were fine and pretty normal for sushi here in Salt Lake City. What was excellent was the fish. Our server let us know that the fish was delivered that day just before they opened. The blue fin tuna was top-notch and melted in your mouth. I would go back just for that! We also had the plum tea that was refreshing perfect warm sweet and sour flavors. “'TLDR' Go here with friends and have yakitori, the wagyu beef onion is a must' I have been in a few times since they first opened and tried the sashimi, nigiri, sushi rolls, and ramen and really liked them all. This is a fine spot that really delivers on the sushi, the fish is fresh and the cuts are nice. The ramen broth is good and flavorful and a nice big bowl to boot. I really like the decor and overall vibe of this place. It feels a lot more expensive than it is. It's the perfect place to go after work and have a few drinks and some food with friends, colleagues, or a date. I know some people have bagged on the service here, but I have never had a bad encounter. They are attentive and never rude. They aren't overly fake and nice so maybe the bluntness and efficiency isn't what those people wanted. But the real reason I love this place and will keep coming back is simple...Yakitori! I have been looking for a spot in salt lake to deliver on the yakitori (small plate skewers) that I had when in Japan. This place does it well and at reasonable prices. Most of the yakitori is $3-$5 bucks which is a steal for what you get. The most expensive is the wagyu beef onion. It's about double the cost of the others but it is one the most simple delicious things you can buy. The beef is so buttery and moist and the flavor doesn't overpower the actual flavor of the beef itself. I dream about this stuff. I just pops into the back of my mind when I feel even a little bit hungry. I CANNOT RECOMMEND IT ENOUGH. It is sooo amazing. They also have a great selection for one of a kind house cocktails that don't disappoint, like the Oriental Caipiroska and the Tokyo Sour. They have a nice selection of Japanese liquor and beer, but sadly no hot sake. Overall this is becoming my favorite restaurant in salt lake. I'm stopping in if I just want a light snack and drink or if I'm desiring a full meal. I definitely suggest checking this place out. The only downside is that they don't have their own parking and the are opposite the elevator for the underground parking garage. But you'll probably appreciate the walk back to the car after you've had your fill here.“
