He was nice, sweet and detailed about what I wanted. They didn't have any cold tea's and he made sure to get me a cup of ice with a straw. I also don't like cooked veggies, but he let me know he wasn't able to give me any of them unless they were cooked.

“Summer Tsukemen. Normal ramen comes with chashu pork, but this one has roast beef. So delicious. The noodles are served in a light broth, so it might be a good idea to dilute the dipping sauce with it at the end. The portion is smaller than I expected, but it’s healthy and good.“

“my family and I really enjoy Mr. Shabu. We have mainly been for the sushi, and have really liked it. The Playboy Roll, which is sort of my go to roll, I'm torn if they are number 1 or 2 when it comes to the place I like it the most. but we have enjoyed many other rolls their. but we also appreciate their wall of ramen which is great for my daughter who is trying to like more sushi, but isn't all the way there yet. it make it easy for her to still get a full dinner, but also try some sushi as well. Any ways, if your looking for some good sushi, give Mr. Shabu a try.“

“Wandering the city, Takashi was my destination. I had seen this restaurant as I googled the area. Let me tell you, it was not easy to find. I walked past it twice! I trusted Google maps amd walked in a door, only to realize Google was right! Once I entered, it was like walking into a different world. The quietness of the street gave way to a bustling restaurant! I chose to sit at the sushi bar, my first time. Ceasar explained to me how to order, and made my loan dining less awkward (my first time lone dining in decades). I ordered the spicy edemami and the forest gump roll. Both were good. The sushi was very fresh, and watching the team of chefs making rolls was very enlightening! 10/10 recommend.“

“Great good here, we'll priced, quick service . I had the teriyaki stake platter, bit realized a bowl seemed like enough food. The teriyaki steak is really good, it's thinly sliced and has a little bit of a crisp to it. I thought it was great.“

“I can say enough good things about the place. I had the full moon roll and the cucumber salad with bean sprouts and tofu. THIS is my new favorite! I have had so many sushi rolls in my life, I even had sushi in Japan. The moon roll was perfect, A++! The cucumber salad was so fresh with a slightly sweetened dressing. My husband had the tempura rice bowl and the seaweed salad with the purple star sake. Wow, everything he had was light and perfectly fresh. The sake is made in-house and is my new favorite warm sake.

“ad a really good date night at Junah this past Saturday (6/20/26). It's Italian-Japanese fusion, which seems like an unusual pairing to me, but I feel it worked very well.

Standouts were the miso cod, Aurora crudo, tagliolino al mentaiko, and matcha tiramisu. The cod was the overall winner. My wife said it was one of the best things she's ever eaten, which is high praise from her.

Overall, I thought it was one of the more interesting upscale meals I've had in Salt Lake recently. The vibe was not stuffy at all, and we had a great time and incredible service.

Low light was the inability to seat us for our reservation on time despite a text confirming our table was ready. I hope they can get that figured out!“

“I have been coming here since they've opened and love their food. However, I am very disheartened lately how their cook Olden (I believe is his name) treats the other staff. He tends to get overwhelmed by tickets or special requests. When I've experienced this happening he seems as though he gets stressed out. Then he lashes out on the other staff around him, especially the owner's mother who works the register. I've experienced this on multiple occasions and it's frustrating to see. I love this place but it's beginning to make me not want to come here due to how he treats others. I have kept my mouth closed for the experience of other customers in the building. However, your staff don't deserve this type of treatment and I will be standing up for them the next time this happens in front of me. I've kept my mouth shut long enough.“
