“The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. We had the Lo Mein. We had enough that we brought the leftovers. I wish that had been more meat and vegetables. We will still go to Joy Luck because we totally enjoy it. The atmosphere is wonderful! I love the art and decor.“

“I have been coming here for many years now. The food is always great and warm. I love Chinese food and this place hits the spot very well. Owners are extremely nice and make my visit there wonderful. I have tried most of the Lunch Menu and they all taste great to me. The egg rolls are also very good. I will continue to go there for my lunch and enjoy the food. Thanks, Lynn“

“I'm not sure what inspired a Greek-American family to open a Chinese restaurant in Bountiful, Utah in the late 70s, but this restaurant has become a Utah icon since its founding. Regarded by some as the best Chinese restaurant in the state, your expectations are better set if you think of an amusement parks version of high-end Chinese food - and I mean that in the best way.
The egg rolls are reminiscent of a carnival corn dog; large, well-breaded, and perfectly fried. The sauce that comes with it really makes the dish. Not a must-order, but very good. The pot stickers, however, are a must-order. The ham fried rice is average, where it's not bad but there's not a lot of flavor to it. I'd try the chicken fried rice next time. The sweet and sour almond chicken is really good, but it's nothing like a traditional sweet and sour dish. Think a juicy breaded chicken breast covered in a sweet lemony-sauce with almonds. Again, very good, one of their signature dishes, but not a traditional American-Chinese dish. The orange peel beef was my favorite of the entrees, with good flavor, but it's not on my must-order list. I'd agree with others' reviews on the honey walnut shrimp; it's good, but only order for a minimum of 4 people. It wouldn't be good as a standalone entree. The handcrafted ice cream flight of 5 was fun to try, but the Nutella banana and passion fruit were the only two that tickled my fancy. I wouldn't order it again. The cherry lemonade was great. You only get one refill, but it's a great tasting lemonade, which is rare for cherry-flavored items.
The service was fantastic, and we really appreciated our server, Amanda. She was prompt and personable, and the service from start to finish was excellent.
The atmosphere and story of Mandarin is the true winner. I love Utah and family-owned restaurants, and this has definitely stood the test of time. You can tell many of the patrons have been coming here for 30+ years, and it's a rare trait for restaurants to maintain that level of loyalty. For that alone, it's worth a stop.
Overall, I enjoyed my visit, but it's also not a place I'm rushing to come back to. If Google allowed half stars, my true overall score would be a 3.5. It's charming and iconic, but in a class of its own as far as American-Chinese restaurants are concerned.“

“My wife had this on her "want to visit" list, so we stopped by today since it was on our way home from the zoo. Very glad we checked it out!
The food was fast, tasty, filling and very reasonable on the price. We had leftovers and I'm already looking forward to finishing it. My wife (who is in her third trimester) appreciated how the food wasn't too greasy so it didn't give her heartburn.
Our two year old daughter happily ate everything in front of her.
Well definitely return, or at least do take out! Wonderful spot.
Parking: Small lot, but very open spaces when we visited.
Kid-friendliness: Very accommodating of our 2 year old. Brought her a plastic cup (versus our ceramic ones) with the water, a high chair, etc.“

“we tried Eiko Cafe SLC (1234 S Redwood Rd, Salt Lake City) and were so excited to try authentic Chinese food. they have your typical orange chicken and chow mein available, but we went for the boiled fish filet with pickled cabbage (left) and west lake beef soup (right). the fish dish was spicy, tender, savory and also had a slight numbing effect of the Sichuan peppercorn (yum!). the beef soup was the best thing to have on this snowy and wet day. our waitress introduced herself as Jasmine and was so excited to see us try what her family eats at home. she was very accommodating and so friendly! we will be back tomorrow and hope we can easily decide what things to get next… we want to try the entire menu.“

“Outstanding Taste and reasonably priced, good portion size. My favorite is the Cashew chicken combo meal. Recommend asking for no breading on the chicken. It's healthier and more flavor in taste. Awesome ? service and refills on soda is a plus. Heart award given for outstanding service ❤️ and clean restaurant and flavor and quality is amazing. ?❤️? Sincerely ? king ?. Come and try for your self and enjoy ✌️.“

“The menu is broad... food style from many Asian countries, not just China. The food was just ok. We had hot and sour soup, Sichuan plate, and a Buddha plate (tofu). Nothing special. The flavors were sort of bland. Service was good even though they seemed understaffed. Prices are good.“

“The atmosphere was delightful and the waiter was so kind. She made small talk with my husband who is from another country and he tasted a little bit of home with their Ginger Beer. I loved their Pad Thai and Orange Chicken. Very delicious. Lettuce Wraps were also a perfect appetizer with our food. Love this place, recommend it for everyone“

“It's not bad, but it's not suitable for eating alone. . Because the portion is too big. . I ordered a chicken popcorn and was full after finishing it. . .
On Sundays they are chiller, saying they open at 11:00 but they don't even open at 11:20. . And when we first opened, it took time to make the pan-fried buns, but unfortunately I didn’t have a chance to taste them.“

“Do you like Panda Express? You'll love this place! Better quality, better tasting food. We tried 3 different food items here, and already more in love with this place than with Panda Express.
Ham fried rice, who doesn't enjoy that?!
General Tso's chicken has a kick.
Sesame chicken was a pleasant flavor, not sweet or sour, just really pleasant.“

“Happened to walk by when I was at a teacher training and decided to stop at this little gem. I ordered a pork cabbage bun, a Halloween sesame special bun, and a matcha latte. So cute and friendly and quaint. I hope this place stays around. The sesame bun was soft and sweet and the pork cabbage bun was soft and just as I expected.
Dietary restrictions: Offered options for gluten free and vegan diets.“

“I have been coming to Indochine for 7 years now. The food is always delicious, the service is friendly, and the prices are great. I especially recommend the chili spiced tofu and the DIY rice paper rolls with pork sausage.
Today I brought a very large group to Indochine. They reserved the whole patio for us and gave us an enormous carafe of jasmine tea on the house. I really appreciated their attentiveness and patience in serving all of us. My favorite restaurant near the university!“

“These guys are amazing and really helped me out getting the correct orange chicken for my family tonight. Just fyi…. Hot orange chicken….. is not regular orange chicken. Wow. It is truly hot! One bite and nobody could eat it at my house. Lesson learned…. There are now 2 orange chickens… so pay attention!“

“What a cute little hole in the wall restaurant! Very fast service and the food we got was good. I liked the dumplings but they fell apart at the bottom when we tried to pick them up. The sweet and sour chicken was great. The rice wasn’t fresh which was sad. I didn’t love the scallion pancakes but everything was good and fair price.“
